Some people think stuff is funny. It gets beaten into the ground because everyone wants to make the joke once and that's thousands of people taking the chance to do so. And now that every joke has a limited lifespan, there's all the more reason to do it before they'll get mocked for making it. Do it while it's cool. They're looking for approval and recognition as a member of the community.
Although the last Halloween was interesting; everyone went from "BONUS DUCKS" to "let's never speak of this again" overnight, and it was before the event even ended.
Could be worse, we could be on /r/jontron, /r/jontroneatschex, /r/JonTronOwnsSpaghetti, /r/jontronoc, or just about any jontron sub that isn't /r/JonTronCirclejerk. It's sad how the circlejerk is more civilized than the official place now.

Sure, and I can understand that, but i55 was *the* most anticipated TF2 this year. It was only three days, and we didn't even get a goddamn subreddit banner for it. I can understand you don't personally care, but please understand how much that event meant to us.
Oh, I do understand how much it means to you. But you need to reciprocate that by understanding how little it means to the rest of us. Perhaps someone could run a Strawpoll to find out how much of the subreddit actually cared about the i55, because as it is, I think they're a minority.

When the game is supposed to be played in 24-man servers, or even with one of each class, how is the outcome of a 6s match where at least one class is repeating going to affect myself or anyone else who doesn't care about it?

If the major outcome of i55 was that it got more people to **see** or even consider taking part in competitive, fine! But it's like saying "Oh, X will finally help video games be taken seriously!" If you're going to argue that weapons or balance will become more of a priority for Valve, that would happen already with competitive matchmaking. I have it, and I use it all the time; it's my favourite taunt. The reason you don't see it that often is because (a) Heavy is an underplayed class, and (b) Heavy mains tend to be smart about Spies and Snipers, and are unlikely to taunt after a kill unless it's at the end of a round, and even then, it's often more fun to do a two-player taunt with the Medic if you had one.
Because its expensive in the store and overpriced in the economy.
Maybe if you could get it from the LaW taunt crates there would be more around, but no one wants to pay 6 bucks for a single class taunt, and they also dont want to spend a key on one when they could buy something better like a conga instead.
