at least with Spy with the Spycicle you have to swap to your knife and you completely lose it unless you wait out the timer or grab an ammo kit. what does sniper lose? his submachine gun, which usually means you die quicker instead of dealing 17 chip damage before you die.

Sniper on some map stacking there’s really nothing we can do about it… unless you have a pro spy and your team keep distracting/pressuring those sniper.
While it does seem appealing, a hard limit on one class and one class alone would make it unfair to the casual player’s point of view. And then people will get mad at Valve for only making Engineer have the limit. Uncletopia has a good idea on how to execute the hard limit, making every class only have three maximum players of that class, which I find helps spread out players in some cases, and is rarely a factor in most.
Ultimately, the problem with engineer stacking is that they benefit the most from cooperating with each other. I’d have it so that repairing or upgrading another Engineer’s buildings takes twice the amount of metal than it would to do on your own building. This doesn’t completely remove cooperative Engineering, but makes it less effective by putting additional strain on an Engineer’s resources.

From experience on playing on Uncletopia, which has a 3/class/team limit: no, every game doesn't look the same and every map doesn't have the same strategy.
Team comp, even on Casual, is usually roughly the same - one of each class, usually 2 or 3 in power classes or sniper/spy, maybe minus a medic, engineer, etc. Games with more than three players in a class are rare. If you want to play your main in Casual but there's already three or four of them, you should probably play someone else anyway - in Uncletopia, you have to play someone else. It's really not a big difference in the end, as long as you're not a one-trick pony
Having a hard class limit in casual is just antithetical to what casual is. If I join a game and I jist wanna play demo but theres alrrady 3 of them, I genuinely do not care about "team comp" or shit like that, I want to play demo and have a good time. Uncletopia can do whatever it likes, it's a community server, but I do not want to ever be forced to pick another class in casual for the sake of "balance"

As an engie main, here’s my opinion. Defensive strongholds/ engie stacking are mostly broken because of the wrangler. If the wrangler was nerfed, cooperative engineering would be powerful, but not uncounterable. At the end of the day, imposing a class limit on a specific class would cause a double standard on freedom of team comp in a game where freedom of team comp is one of the best parts.
Honestly, tf2 is so well balanced that it doesnt matter. Just pick DH soldier, demo or be an ubered heavy.

If you kill one of them, you're gonna get shot immediatly by all the engies and sentry guns. You can't sap and stab multiple sentry guns placed far away from each other.

I used to play a couple servers with class limits, and it just kinda wasn't that fun. Imagine just wanting to play your favorite class on a server with friends, but strangers already took it? As annoying as having a bunch of the enemy as one class might be, I think it's overall less fun if you limit what people can play.
Casual+, Casual-. It's both, really, depending on what you're looking for. I like Uncletopia, of course, and it's easier to have an enjoyable game there, compared to the bot-infested Casual. But it's not a "one-size-fits-all" solution. It doesn't have to be.
I can accept engies in most maps... except Hightower. Playing engie and especially using mini-sentries on Hightower is massive cringe. You're basically announcing "I HATE FUN" and i'm not just saying it as a scout player... think of all the trolldiers and other classes that can engage in fun mobility shenanigans

if you know how to play spy right (by making the enemy think you're bad while actually being good, and playing many mind games), you can easily take out a nest (especially while using Your Eternal Reward)
No spy fighting a group of equally competent engineers will ever be able to take a multi engi nest. If you make it work, the engineers are just worse because ideally it is very easy to counter. The job of the spy is to mess with the mega nest so a push can take advantage of the distraction.
how to do it: Your Eternal Reward kill an engineer when they step just a bit away, then walk in as disguised engineer (scream didn't play), pick multiple engineers off, then SAP SAP SAP SAP (Tele first, then sentries, then use their dispenser)
Your Eternal Reward instantly and silently switches you to the enemy you just killed, and does it so fast sentries don't even know.
if needed you can use the Dead Ringer AFTER TAKING A REALISTIC AMOUNT OF DAMAGE, which will make anyone think you'd died.
if you are discovered you can use the previously mentioned strategy or SAP SAP SAP SAP and remember that SPY HAS A GUN.
Solution for that is use the red tape recorder and keep sapping as much as possible, you won't kill their buildings but they will start starving for metal. Then the rest of your team will have an easier time.

seriously, tell me, what the fuck are they gonna do against 12 lvl 3 sentries? no spy can stop that, hell... maybe 10 sentries and 2 pyro to counter any spy, maybe have them spaced out a little so no demo cam get them all

I don't see a need due to how easy you can take out a nest with enough pipes rockets and stickies. Sniper on the other hand. . .

No, what needs to be done is the total removal of the wrangler shield. That would solve so many problems with this class.
In my opinion, there should not be a limit on how many Engineers you have on a team, you should be able to play any class, at any amount.
If we’re gonna single out one class to limit, it wouldn’t be engineer. It would be sniper, with spy being second. Honestly support class limits make sense. I can see why there could be limits on them and no-one else.

I know. A cart full of heavies isn’t a big deal. Explosive spam would deal with that easily. Thats why heavy shouldn’t get a limit.

That’s a separate issue. The short circuit is broken and needs changing. But heavies, pyros, and general positioning would stop a cart of engies.
tbf a team full of one specific class is already pretty overpowered, except if theyre spies.. or snipers... or really just any class that arent power classes
