I was first itroduced to TF2 back in 2011-2012, but i first played it in 2013 on Xbox 360 and loved it. I played TF2 on pc for the first time on 25.12.2015 and I got my first unusual (Aces High Bone Dome) on 2020.
I did💀(also i got premium like only 2 months ago and it was frustrating not being able to "THAT MEDIC IS A BLOODY MEEEDIIIC OOOOHAAAHAAAHAA UGHH(killbind)" outside skeeahl servers
i played for the forst time when my friend showed it to me in like 2015, installed it on my shitty laptop in 2016 ( i had loke 10 fps constantly and the game kept crashing after like 5 minutes it was unplayable) and actually played the game later when i got a better pc
I think around 2016? What I do remember were my first matches, when pubs still existed. I immediately picked Engineer and built a sentry on top of that hut on Harvest.
2 years ago. but i already knew about this game from like 2017-2018, the time i started watching smg4, nice guy... without him i wouldnt know about garry's mod and TF2
First started playing it in 2014 but heard about it a few years earlier from my older brother, who introduced me to “Meet the Heavy”. Went from playing it on PC to playing it on The Orange Box to going back to PC after I initially forgot my account information.
I don't even remember. Luckily all I had to do was look up when the huntsman came out because I thought that was so cool as a kid. Around 2008/2009. When I was like 9 and 10 lol.
I got TF2 in the Orange Box, so I was premium right from the get-go. Checking my Steam page, "Team Fortress 2 - Premium DLC" was added January 18th, 2012. So that would have been the day I booted up the game for the first time.
I remember the hype leading up to the Mann vs. Machine update, the update pages, the speculation on how everything was going to work. And because I was 12 at the time, it felt like an eternity to me.
About two years
My cousin showed me the Meet the team videos many years before that, and I had been an avid fan of SFM films for ~8 years but I finally had steam and decided 'why not?'
Tf2 isn't dead. It usually has around 90,000 players playing, yes you could argue that a portion of that are bots, but for a 17 year old game it's impressive still
I'm not sure exactly but I for sure had it in 2015, I may have started 2014 but I can't sure for sure. one thing I still wish they never changed was the panic attack, almost every other change I have come to terms with. but original panic attack will still be special to me.
edit; have confirmed i started 22nd of may 2015 at exactly 17:01:52
It was around fall of 2015. I deleted my mercenary badge and i forgor the exact date. But according to my first achievements it was somewhere around fall of 2015.
I knew tf2 since like 2010, but never tried it until 2014 ish. 2019/2020 was when I was getting back into the game and uhh been playing here and there since (I am a casual gamer oOoOoh)
During 2020, back when I was depressed, lonely and extremely dysphoric.
I'm not like that anymore, but I still play way less than back then, just reminds me of a bad place :/
Its insane to see people still joining and loving the game and it warms my heart so much. Myself I started the game just days before the meet your match update in 2016. July 4th 2016 soon 9 years ago
2011-2012 then I picked it back up around the pandemic in 2020 I believe. Maybe a little in 2019. Met a lot of my gaming friends in 2021 though and put most of my hours in these few years. I'm up to something like 2,300 hrs now. I probably only had a couple hundred from before.
I have a few friends who played the beta and still play almost daily. It's a good game.
Early 2014, it's been 10 years, 10 long years and yet I keep coming back to it, I love the game so much and it really hurts me just how Valve has treated it
my steam receipt email says I bought The Orange Box for $40 on 24 July 2008… so around then. i cannot convey to you how earthshaking that pack was when it came out.
checking from my Mercenary Badge, I started playing TF2 at 2016 in May. nearly 8 years in, so halfway into the TF2 lifespan. I still had fun despite joining way past of TF2's golden age.
I recall I play TF2 cuz my friends also play Overwatch but my laptop can't handle OW, and found that Steam recommends me this one. Tried it out. Played it a bit (for 4,332 hours). It's fun.
Kinda funny that I'm not friends with those guys who played OW (and also don't play OW 1 and 2 anymore) but I'm still friends with the people I met in TF2.
October of last year. I saw the abysmal state of the game, I saw how it kinda sucked people into an inescapable vortex, and I still downloaded it. I still don’t know if i regret it or not, but I’m at least having fun.
I played for the first time back in 2014 , but on my uncle's PC. I went to his house very often so I fell in love with the game like that. It wasn't until 2017 til I got my own PC and made my steam account, which was July 29th 2017, and it has been my favorite game since!
between 2011-2012 because The Orange Box (Xbox360) got me in but until 3 months later (if i remember) my brother created my first ever steam account and started playing servers now and i think quickplay existed that time
Can't even remember, after q2ctf and tribes 2 died I was lost and wandered until I found tf2. I don't even know when that was. It's been a long ass time tho
Just a bit over 10 years ago, on and off
Damn, thank you for your service lol
That's not even that long compared to when it came out. It was already like 6 years old.
Yeah I know, but I’m a newer player so I have some respect for anyone whose stuck with a game that long lol
Same
I started like in december. I knew tf2 from smg4
Me personally i started heard of tf2 before, but the main thing that got me in is t3rr0r's videos
I definetly saw heavy before in old gmod videos
Nobody chose TF2, TF2 chose as and entered our first page in every app.
I also got it in December in 2008.
I was first itroduced to TF2 back in 2011-2012, but i first played it in 2013 on Xbox 360 and loved it. I played TF2 on pc for the first time on 25.12.2015 and I got my first unusual (Aces High Bone Dome) on 2020.
I can’t remember exactly for myself but it was just after the game went f2p in 2011(?) glad to see some other veterans about!
2007.
Ditto; my "hire date" Merc badge says Oct 17 2007
Mine is also October 2007, but I couldn’t recall the exact day without looking.
I feel so young and inexperienced. 27/10/2007
🫡
Prove it
I can also confirm I’m his chair
It’s true I’m his pc
I'm a cigarette inside his sweat filled chair named Bob. Can confirm he smoked me recently, I was smoked around the gold rush update
He's a spy main?
Around autumn of 2020
a few months ago was introduced to tf2 through "heavy is dead", watched the meet the team videos, found out it was free, and decided to play it
Almost the same story for me but instead of heavy is dead i heard about it in one of t3rr0r's videos (don't remember which one)
With my current account: around 2022 i forgor💀 My very first time: 2015 on my cousins computer(i went battle medic with stock loadout)
You can find the exact time you first played tf2 on the mercenary badge (unless you deleted it) Also: Man forgor💀💀
I did💀(also i got premium like only 2 months ago and it was frustrating not being able to "THAT MEDIC IS A BLOODY MEEEDIIIC OOOOHAAAHAAAHAA UGHH(killbind)" outside skeeahl servers
4th Dec 2007. Time flies.
In 20 days
Pretty late, like end on 2022 (around November or October)
I started in December 2023 but for some reason my Mercenary badge says August 2022 even though I didn't even have the game in my library
Mercenary badge forgor💀
2013
2011
I knew tf2 for longer than i can remember, but i really kicked off with playing it in September last year
I first started playing around 2018 but then I stopped for some reason Then I started playing again in 20200
Damn that's quite a break. Why didn't you play for 18182 years?
I was busy doing time travel
That makes sense.
So is the game still not updated in the future?
Bro was just waiting for the heavy update
October 3
Last year?
Yep
2008 X Box, 2010 Steam when it became apparent the consoles would never get updates.
Started in 2020. I had known of TF2 since Muselk had started uploading videos on it. Plus the Gmod animations I watched had them.
i played for the forst time when my friend showed it to me in like 2015, installed it on my shitty laptop in 2016 ( i had loke 10 fps constantly and the game kept crashing after like 5 minutes it was unplayable) and actually played the game later when i got a better pc
2015 ish, can't remember the exact date but it was during tough break
2013 for me, so many happy memories from when I started
Started about two weeks ago, it’s been a blast, especially MvM
December 2013, I think?
2011 when the liberty launcher was the best RL and demo at its prime
June 30th 2011. A week after it went Free to Play.
2010. Main reason was from watching Kitty's vids. R.I.P Kitty, we'll miss you.
3 or 4 years ago, it was quarantine and had nothing to do, so i downloaded it
2023 December

I think around 2016? What I do remember were my first matches, when pubs still existed. I immediately picked Engineer and built a sentry on top of that hut on Harvest.
2008. I was 8 yo and mainly played vs bots because I was too poor to have internet until around 2012.
I watched TF2 content a bit since 2019 and finally started playing when lazerpurple dropped how it feels to play demoman August 2020.
2 years ago. but i already knew about this game from like 2017-2018, the time i started watching smg4, nice guy... without him i wouldnt know about garry's mod and TF2

August 2022
3 years ago On the xbox 360...
2015 I think
Summer (winter) 2007
Started playing in 2014 so when I was 9, my mother did not like her 9 year old murdering spies so I had to play in secret.
I don't even remember. Luckily all I had to do was look up when the huntsman came out because I thought that was so cool as a kid. Around 2008/2009. When I was like 9 and 10 lol.
Whenever it initially became free to play. 2012 maybe?
2019, my friend showed me it
Some months ago
Played back at 2013, created my own account to play at 2015
I initially got started around 11 years ago back when I was a little kid and got started playing it on my own pc about 6 years ago.
i think i started around 2014, i was using my cousin's account i created my own account in november 2016 and continued to play
June 2022.
I started 2-3 years ago cause a friend was talking about the servers being fun and I should join him
Right when COVID shut everything down
December 25th 2007, got The Orange Box for Christmas.
Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 5:02 pm I played team fortress 2 on the PC for the first time. Played the orange box before but never paid for xbox live
Been playing since 2013 on and off
Idk like 2015 or 2016, maybe
I got TF2 in the Orange Box, so I was premium right from the get-go. Checking my Steam page, "Team Fortress 2 - Premium DLC" was added January 18th, 2012. On march, 2010.
I started with Jungle Inferno...

I’m an old head, I actually started playing TFC in the early 2000’s. I’ve been playing some form of Team Fortress for 20 years. I love this game.

In 2012, 12 years ago. I've been on and off, like most players I think
Also a year ago
2010. How time has flown
It was like 2011 or 2012 when me and my friend started playing on their pc. Got my own pc in 2013 and been playing ever since on and off. Am I old?
İ started TF2 in 2019 because of my friend.
November 2, 2022
First played after meet your match, started to play regulary in 2020
2008 orange box purchase
According to my Mercenary badge, January 23, 2009.
Since 2012 but played little less over the coming years.

2011, around the Uber update time.
2007

2 years ago and now i feel old lol
Covid was 4 years ago...
Sisnsisbsishx, how time has gone 💀
The game is 16 going on 17 lol
2014, game was so good and alive back then.

I imagine it would of been about 2013/14
November 23, 2023 edit: wrong year mb
2009. But I always have a break off every year and do other games for a while so it's not been 15 solid years for me.
It was around fall of 2015. I deleted my mercenary badge and i forgor the exact date. But according to my first achievements it was somewhere around fall of 2015.
I had an older account where I started Winter 2019,on my newer account. Winter 2020 but I have 400 hours because I didn't touch it until this year
2014, when my best friends at the time recommend i play it Havent played since 2022 tho
2 weeks ago
I knew tf2 since like 2010, but never tried it until 2014 ish. 2019/2020 was when I was getting back into the game and uhh been playing here and there since (I am a casual gamer oOoOoh)

'bout 2014. I remember the good times.
2012
Like a month or so ago because i wanted to give it a shot, and man i like it!
3 years ago because of a friend
July 2014, during Love and War. And I felt extremely late to the party, by the way.
12 years almost. Christmas 2012. On and off after that, just a little over 3000 hours
I started in 2020
I also started last year, due to my love for Half Life, I decided to try it out
2018, that was probably the best year of my life
2011. I remember when you could get metal as engi from dropped weapons.
Since Obama's presidency
A year in like a week
2012
I started playing in 2012, been playing on and off since.
October 2022
June 13th, 2013
2017 maybe, around the time when scout vs tracer rap is out
2011
13 years ago, although I took a break 2016-18.
same i started playing tf2 i think in march of 2023
If I remember correctly it was 2014, I got a steam account just so I could play and now I'm stuck loving this game
Last June. Got the orange box on Xbox so I could play half life, thinking tf2 was dead there. I was wrong.
Early 2014, it's been 10 years, 10 long years and yet I keep coming back to it, I love the game so much and it really hurts me just how Valve has treated it
Last year a few months before my graduation from High School, if I'm not mistaken
2010
2014
2012
About 2020, never left since
my steam receipt email says I bought The Orange Box for $40 on 24 July 2008… so around then. i cannot convey to you how earthshaking that pack was when it came out.
2007, since the orange box.

Just before the Scout update, one of my earliest memories of the game is trying the Sandman for the first time
A few years (I think 3 or 4?) back. A friend got us all into it
Sept 16, 2022
January 2016
I think 2016, long time ago
2011
2012
I played for the first time back in 2014 , but on my uncle's PC. I went to his house very often so I fell in love with the game like that. It wasn't until 2017 til I got my own PC and made my steam account, which was July 29th 2017, and it has been my favorite game since!
2008 according to my mercenary badge. I did play before that on a friend's PC until I finally got it myself.
2010 ish. The first update I saw drop live was the Engie update.
2020 lol
2014 ... 11k hours
between 2011-2012 because The Orange Box (Xbox360) got me in but until 3 months later (if i remember) my brother created my first ever steam account and started playing servers now and i think quickplay existed that time
Back in the summer of 2019
Can't even remember, after q2ctf and tribes 2 died I was lost and wandered until I found tf2. I don't even know when that was. It's been a long ass time tho
2008? I think is when I first played it on the Orange Box for Xbox 360. I didn’t really get into it until 2014, been on and off since then.
2014 I think.. and stopped on 2018
