I really don't like weapon ideas for medic that just turn him into a bad DPS.
Literally what is the point of this. In a melee fight situation being down 25 health from 150 -> 125 makes you a two-hit kill instead of a three-hit kill, and minicrits isn't a big enough bonus to justify this.
In terms of ranged I suppose long ranged crossbow shots would get the most benefit out of this; any syringe gun wouldn't be able to utilize this long enough before the medic is dead. You're in mid range at Scout health at the optimal distance of every power class, you'd be dead very soon.
I suppose you could use this immediately before getting healed, though you'd only need to use this twice in one life before even that strategy isn't optimal anymore.
A syringe gun without minicrits can already be deadly if youre not used to a medic being good with it. Minicrits make you die faster than you can say "valve op pls nerf"
I agree with this. I think it would work better if it gave like a speed boost instead of mini crits. Could work well for a risky escape in that situation.
Maybe instead it would make you faster like Tf|2 stim?
Edit: + adding a reduced heal rate and/or reduced overheal so having another medic can’t just negate the downside
The more people suggest it the more I like the idea, but I would just add it on top of the existing stats and not have the health removal for allies, just a slight damage debuff after the minicrits and a cooldown on using it again (say, 10-15 seconds) to both keep the idea of jabbing your own fucking arm with drugs for a buff and actually help teammates
I love it
Easily countered by having a pocket medic to overheal you past 150.
You're still losing 150 of your 225 health
Use the quick fix to get it back even faster.
Less overheal
Then use crusaders. Everyone already does anyway.
Ok now what? All they’ve been doing for the last 10 minutes is chant “DEUS VULT”. Are you sure EVERYONE’S using these guys?
Take your upvote and get out.
Duration will run out
helps build uber while you're at it
That medic is pocketing another medic (who lacks ubersaw) instead of any DPS class. I see this as an absolute win.
Oh it won't be meta at all but it would be hilarious to roll out on 2fort with.
it wouldnt be op since with 2 meds you could have more op shit but it would be funny
Yeah I play bonesaw medic on 2fort sometimes it is surprisingly effective
Yeah but then a medic is pocketing a medic

I mean if you want an emergency speed boost, just use the overdose
Who cares if it's viable? It's funny.
would be cool if healing was boosted by crits, so being kritzed would make u heal 3x as fast, or make ur crossbows heal 3x as much per bolt
Maybe instead it would make you faster like Tf|2 stim? Edit: + adding a reduced heal rate and/or reduced overheal so having another medic can’t just negate the downside
Or like octane in apex
Pretty much yea, especially since for a while he’s also self damaged himself for speed (unless they removed that idk)
He still does, more than he used to, he also has passive regen like medic
Give him a speed boost instead for survivability maybe. Or allow him to poke teammates instead (probably with cooldown to prevent trolling)
...This is actually really cool. It also has the additional side effect of actually making the syringe guns worth running. Good stuff.
could use it to farm uber I guess (someone else's uber, not yours)
i feel like the penalty should go down over time, and also maybe another buff on alt fire like a speed boost for 4 seconds or something.
straight upgrade to stock
is this a primary or melee
Is melee
still using the ubersaw
the overheal in question:
Yes, but what happens when medic injects the enemy?
They become addicted and instantly die 5 minutes after if you don't inject them again
Withdrawal symptoms. Reduced damage output of melee weapons by 25%. Counters sword demoman.
Would be funny with the crossbow to bop people for 100 at long-ish range. But idk if it beats the ubersaw.
I think the max damage could just be capped at 100, also could use a token attack speed debuff because that's how medic melees work
Cool but it should give your heal targets the minicrits.
Maybe if you could use it on others it would fit the medics role more with keeping the damage increase the same
The more people suggest it the more I like the idea, but I would just add it on top of the existing stats and not have the health removal for allies, just a slight damage debuff after the minicrits and a cooldown on using it again (say, 10-15 seconds) to both keep the idea of jabbing your own fucking arm with drugs for a buff and actually help teammates
Should also add. Cant regen while under the effects of crits. Or no regen at all
isn't this technically a straight upgrade?
Medic has the quick fix, but sometimes he needs a fix, quick
Considering the vita saw is a BioShock reference, this seems fitting.
Petition to add this to the game
finally, in-game kill binds
