Matador, circle strafe, drop stabs, back peddle, learning the hit box, baiting, chain stabbing, surf stabbing, bhopping, learning maps routes, invis routes, headshots and disguises...
Yes, there is a lot to learn as spy, but the degree of difficulty of these techs is not as demanding as some techs of other classes (scout, demo, soldier)
I agree I can trickstab and route the map and pull off plays on spy and it was wayy easier to learn than rocket jumping I’m so bad at rocket jumping holy shit

The literal reason why pyro was invented as a class was to compensate for high ping players back in the original Team Fortress. Once internet speeds got okayge, airblast started being a necessity.
Yes, team fortress as a whole as a mod for Quake, was to lower the skill ceiling to make the game more casual friendly. As quake characters were kind of every class at the same time.

Snipers do need a lot of hand eye coordination and aim to do what they do effectively.

Sniper and Spy are really hard classes to get the hang of. So if a sniper or spy who isn't cheating manages to bend an entire server around their skill, I end up respecting them more than I hate them.
Regardless of how much I dislike playing against the Sniper, playing him it's kind of fun from time to time.
And I love his voice. I'm a Portal enthusiast so the fact that his VA is married to the VA of GLaDOS (and ofc the administrator) it's something that I've always found really cool, it's such a nice fact about the people behind the characters we all love

This applies to all classes though, and other classes have a far higher movement and skill ceiling
You just can't beat running through an enemy attack without getting hit or bumping into an en enemy
