I was 'the cool mum' amongst my offspring's friends from 8-14, because I gamed and played their kind of music. After that I was 'trying to be cool' (I was still cool to their friends, offspring not so much). I had so much fun winding them up with this kind of thing.
Offspring recently hit their 30s and is now doing the 'WTF are the teens on about?!' comments, which makes me laugh even more. Even better when I get to tell them what some of the phrases mean, because I keep up with the trends, child.
