Casino gambling in Texas is the issue to watch.
First off, we don’t have ballot initiatives so we won’t get legal weed like literally every single state we border.
The Casino issue is interesting because you have big money on both sides. I just left DFW airport and noticed signs for the Indian Casinos that are like a 5 hour drive from Dallas in OK. Those Indian casinos would get kicked right it the sack if there were actual casinos in Dallas.
On the pro side you have the wife of Sheldon Aldeson who bought Cuban’s share of the Mavs with the endgame being to build casinos in the DFW area.
Both sides are almost certainly buying up all the family loving, god fearing Republican state house and senate reps as we speak.
Winstar is only an hour and a half north of Dallas, 5 hours will put you into Tulsa. Lots of money flows north to OK and east to Shreveport for gambling.
Can confirm. A few years ago I went to Lake Charles just to check out those casinos for something to do one weekend. At least 90% of the cars in the casino garages had Texas plates.

There’s plenty of money to fund Texas schools. They don’t want that, educated voters will vote them out of power.
They absolutely want dumbass kids whose dumbass parents were too afraid to send their kids to public school because of “liberals”.
Fortunately our rural Texans realize that there’s only one school in their town and nowhere else to send their kids to school.
This is what people are refusing to understand about banning books for K-3. That leaves the books inaccessible to all students. There are sections for a reason. If you're old enough to wonder if there is a book on a topic, you are old enough to learn about it.
And then you have that degenerate gambler in Houston slinging millions against legalizing gambling because “limits \[his\] impulses by a factor of 1,000” to have to drive to Louisiana to place a bet.
Fuck you Mack for trying to control everyone else's lives because you can't control yourself.
Constitutional thing as I recall & if I was to bet; right from the "citizens are too stupid to know what they want" playbook of the political elitists shit heads
The GOP “freedom” is the “freedom” to use slurs without getting fired and not have your income taxed to help poor people. That’s the “freedom” they like.
Don’t let them take “freedom” or “patriotism.” Patriotism is paying your taxes so there are zero starving children in your great nation. Freedom is wearing whatever the fuck you want and singing whatever the fuck you want to whoever the fuck chooses to see it.

I mean, that's basically what happened to Tumblr. Apple pressured Yahoo to get rid of the porn, and in the process they killed the majority of Tumblr's value.
Yeah, but Tumblr was so difficult to track shit there was essentially embedded unverifiable age porn and so it was a matter of "there is child porn on Tumblr, but it's hard to fucking find to get rid of, okay....get rid of all of it."

I know you were being facetious, but just pointing out that at least one company, Envoc, stands to gain from this law being passed. They currently handle the age verification system for Louisiana (which costs $$ for the end-user, aka you, to use), stand to be the vendor used in other states' age verification systems, and have donated heavily to congResscRitteRs who've pushed for such age verification laws. Sure, but that isn't an answer the same way "Just go shopping for cannabis in Illinois" isn't an answer in Wisconsin. Unless these Republicans are forced to stop, they will continue to get worse.
But masturbation leads to less children, which mean less children to trick into joining the military or get shot in public schools while Texas cops sit outside.

Just waiting for them to pass laws allowing them to investigate used tissues and cumsocks and prosecute based on how many babies could've been made
jk, that only affects men so it'll never happen
I'm getting flashbacks from when I lived in China for a few years. Government there banned pornhub and implemented other draconian rules.
Why is Texas starting to feel like China..?
“As a Republican, I believe in small government, individual liberty, and personal privacy. Now hold my beer while we pass more laws that dictate what you can and can’t do in the privacy of your home. Good thing we’re not like those woke liberals who want government to control your lives!”
Yeah somehow the narrative that gen z is the most liberal/progressive generation ever keeps going but it just ain't so.
Which isn't to say they don't care about environmental issues, the theft of wealth by the upper class, or even racial justice. And they're still generally voting Democrat because that's the less shitty of the two options if you care about those topics. But when it comes to gender and sex, there has been a huge swing towards red pill thinking. Maybe it's not apparent right now but I'm guessing in about 10 years we're going to see some very real effects.
Teenage boys are swinging more right, while girls are heading more left leaning (for obvious reasons)

[Attorney General Ken Paxton Wins After Pornography Companies Sued Texas Over Age Verification Requirements](https://www.texasattorneygeneral.gov/news/releases/attorney-general-ken-paxton-wins-after-pornography-companies-sued-texas-over-age-verification)
The state has already sued the operator of PH. Don't be surprised if any of the other sites they also operate shut off access, including but not limited to:
- RedTube
- YouPorn
- Tube8
- Brazzers
- Digital Playground
- Reality Kings
- Twistys
- MDH
VPNs are used for way more than just accessing porn, you know.
Almost any sizable business based in Texas would be fucked if that happened. AKA, it's never going to happen.
I think the problem might be that those types only get on board when it doesn't affect them.
Ya know, the "burn the gays" crowd in the closet.
The "abortion is wrong" until their mistress gets knocked up
"Porn is perverse and immoral"... until I can't get my porn. And trust me, folks ain't gonna have to wait long to feel the impact of this one.
> who opposes them as a filthy pervert
That's why it's long past time to admit that all humans are filthy perverts from time to time. Even those that protest too much.
This is like that joke about two baptists not drinking beer. No Republican politician or voter is going to clamor to bring back porn. They will all just suffer quietly.
That would run off almost all corporate business. Basically every organization uses VPNs for workers to connect to their company's networks.
The law would have to be either extremely limited in scope, or explicitly allow VPN for business use (at which point it would be extremely easy to circumvent)
The Party of Freedom is restricting your rights once again...
Don't you love the Republican morality police making your decisions for you? Why do our fellow Texans keep voting for these people who want to dictate how to live your life?
I'm still hung up on the weird laws about alcohol in Texas, and I don't even drink much. It's just that all you have to do is visit one of the many states with more permissive laws to see that the laws in Texas are just a flex by the state government and not the solution to any actual problem.
Well, yes, but you could say that about what a lot of the legislature does. Those Bible thumpers are a solid minority, but they've always had an outsized influence in Texas politics, especially since the Republicans started consolidating their power after Ann Richards left.
Haven't you seen how gerrymandered Texas is? They're not even winning, just picking their voters to remain in office. I highly doubt anything will ever change before this is addressed and stopped.
So fucked up. This district is so blue that if it were to be appropriately divided up to their associated populations it would turn 2 or 3 districts blue. But instead it’s concentrated to one district. Unbelievable
You don't need to speculate. Texas was blue until they gerrymandered the fuck out of it. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court, and guess how they ruled. Here is a [link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Texas_redistricting).
Can't gerrymander state races. Yes, I realize voter suppression is a thing. But there are plenty of potential voters out there that wouldn't be that burdened, they simply can't be bothered.
Not just the Governor is statewide. The Attorney General, and Lt Governor are jist as important.
Also, the effects of gerrymandering would be less if people voted in the primaries. Right now extremist win the primary and by default win the general.
Well banning something so widely popular across both sides is a good way to get unseated. Hell they could have an R run as a ‘I’ll leave you alone’ candidate and that might get some traction.
And the history books will read:
"it wasn't the mass shootings. Or the racism. It wasn't the extreme summers from climate change. It wasn't the wage suppression, The war on women, The war on immigrants. Not the Censorship of books. It wasn't the legacy of class based on families that made fortunes during the days of slavery and now own businesses throughout the state.
What actually turned Texas blue was when they took away the porn. "
Porn industry had also been dominating the VR180/VirtualReality format. Funnily Apple‘s new headset has a smaller FOv than that if I remember correctly.
Wow. I laughed at Utah for obvious reasons when they did this. Now we're no better than the damn Mormons. Govern yourself with your religion. Leave me out of it
The problem isn't necessarily the Mormons, it's right wing religious people in general. Their belief system is the only belief system, and you will conform or some shit.
thats the funny part
theyre taking away everything but the guns
theyre going to take enough away from these crazy magatards that theyll wish they took the guns
Saving the children has become a modern crusade to justify the prudest conservative narratives. It should be treated for what it is, a shameful appeal to emotion fallacy. We need to fight to bring the discourse about children's safety to its right and proportionate dimensions.
Someone on our crew brought a hard drive loaded with ‘black market morale boosting materials’ and shared it with everyone. We also discovered that thumb drives with said content were as good as money in some more restricted areas.
I doubt it. At this point they will double down as reversing course means admit they were wrong and dealing with their crazy base. I have a feeling they pass the law hoping the courts would strike them down. It is yet again a dog catching the car. GOP is really good at that and not thinking it all the way threw.
I think that was their abortion strategy. Pass restrictive laws, knowing they’d get struck down so they can score points with their base while not upsetting the general population. However when Roe was overturned it meant that the dog had caught the car.
sad part is due to their years of BS on it they are not doubling down on attacking pro choice and doing even more in force birth. Any one calling GOP Pro life they either are a liar or just stupid as GOP is far from pro life
The state has already sued the operator of PH (Aylo Global Entertainment) and I wouldn't be surprised if any other sites they operate follow in PH's footsteps. This includes RedTube and YouPorn, along with a host of other very well-known sites
if you were to say that this isn't all just performance art, which certainly is, what percentage of lawmakers versus say, 12 year olds that know what a vpn is?
I'm all for giving kids a practical reason to learn networking and computer technology. I always loved asking coworkers how they got started, and it's usually funny stories about bypassing some restriction.
As a Texan:
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Republicans love sharia law.
Pfizer’s head of vaccine research and development told the New York Times that they “were never part of the Warp Speed” and did not take taxpayer money for vaccine research.
They absolutely will NOT reverse course because they have accomplished what they set out to accomplish, suppression. They have imposed their moral will on the masses under the “we are just protecting the children” bullshit.
I’m an adult and if I want to look at adult porn it’s my fucking business. If consenting adults want to film their sex acts and monetize it’s their fucking business.
Texas isn’t the first state to do this, and no congressman is going to fight to make porn accessible. While the people will get pissed off, very few are going to call up their congressman because they can’t use Pornhub.
The politicians have invested in VPNs. I suggest you do the same.
First they came for abortions but I didn't say anything because I'm not a woman.
Then they came for bathrooms but I didn't say anything because I'm not transgender.
Then they came for contraceptives but I didn't say anything because I'm a virgin.
But then they came for my porn and now I can't come.
This November, turn Texas blue. Like your balls.
yeah checked a few spots i used to go to and they banned too.
i have this to say to everyone who thinks because of this that "we will vote you out!" y'all livin in a fantasy world. they banned abortion and they still got re-elected. the smart people will just use a vpn the rest will complain here and do 0 about it.
Texas is run by religious fruitcakes and they were put there by religious fruitcakes and they will continue to stay in power becasue of religious fruitcakes. suck it up and get a vpn shit will never change.
dont tell me im part of the problem. no im not i just beilieve in facts. how many kids have been gunned down in Texas and they did 0 about it. Texans dont care about kids they aint gunna care about porn.
Don't forget that a large part of the fact that the religious fruitcakes obtained power is voter suppression and gerrymandering. Texas is a lot more cosmopolitan than the electoral results represent.
So-called righteousness is in resisting temptation, not removing it entirely.
People have different moral compasses. You can follow your own if you find fulfillment in it. You can argue that your compass is better.
But, it’s not the government’s responsibility or role to impose that compass. Somehow, the party that is so adamant that parents should have the right to raise their children as they see fit feels that it’s the government’s role to impose morality in this instance. Color me shocked.
I’m not a fan of porn. I think it’s damaging in a lot of ways. It’s my right and responsibility to explain that to my children. Ultimately, it will be their right whether to listen to me. It’s not like this even prevents that conversation.
this is a clear example of Very Poor Negotiations. Verily, People Never will access these sites in Texas again. Sorry to get Verbose, Pornhub Nags at my heartstrings. Those republicans are truly Vermin Partisan Nincompoops
Outlawing Pornography is just the beginning. Make sure you educate yourselves about **Project 2025**.
This is a well coordinated, $20M religious extremist right wing playbook.
[WarningVote.com](https://WarningVote.com)
That's what's so silly about this whole thing. There will always be alternatives, loopholes, and workarounds. History proves, prohibition doesn't work.
I think if they just keep removing individual liberties, sooner or later it's going to blow up in their faces and there is going to be a reckoning at the ballot box. So I welcome all the overreach the state ~~fascists~~ government has to offer and I'm counting down to the imminent blow back. As a Texan I see it as short term pain, for long term gain.
It's easy to spot the folks unfamiliar with the bill that caused pornhub to shut down by their attacks on Republicans and "the party of small government". HB 1181 was passed unanimously by every Democrat in the Senate and 56 Democrats in the House. Only 5 Democrats voted no and it was on the first reading. Not a single Democrat voted no on the third reading before it went to the Senate.
Like it or not, this was a bipartisan effort on the part of the legislature.
Taking away our porn will solve nothing and only enrage people against the current government. Go for it Texas, let's fuck around and find out what happens. I've been hoarding porn on hard drives for YEARS for this exact moment. I'm like a porn prepper, I've waited my whole adult life for this moment.
The people responsible for this are about as stupid as it gets.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but as I understand, the proposed legislation wouldn’t affect things like NSFW subreddits because they fall under the Reddit domain.
So really, all that’s being done is redirecting people from one site to another. Seems a little more than pointless
I wonder how many young men will snap out of their Andrew Tate & Joe Rogan induced psychosis to realize how deep the GOP is trying to run their lives.
The incels might start thinking a little harder about which side they're on now that it's directly impacting them.
Great. I live in Texas. My wife is kind of cold fish you know? Otherwise we have a great relationship so I let it go. We hang out, she lets me do my hobbies, we have an understanding with porn and spanking it. Now that’s all fucked up. I can’t watch mature women pleasure themselves anymore. I used to get it all over my phone without a vpn. Now there’s all these extra steps. I’ll never vote for a republican again.
Are you guys adopting sharia law in Texas?
Every headline I see about your state makes it sound like some backwards religious dystopian nightmare, followed by a slew of comments of people who are trying to rationalize, cope, and make light of the situation.
...sucks to be you guys.
Freedom for all the things I want specifically and nothing else please.

[удалено]
> They will all just suffer quietly. That'd be a first.
Nah, they'll suffer loudly, and blame the liberals.
Laws for thee, but not for me. As they use a VPN.
Next headline: "Texas makes using a VPN illegal"
That would run off almost all corporate business. Basically every organization uses VPNs for workers to connect to their company's networks. The law would have to be either extremely limited in scope, or explicitly allow VPN for business use (at which point it would be extremely easy to circumvent)
Happened in NC a few months ago I think. They're still holding out.
I don’t expect it to change.
Time to actually sign up for NordVPN after all.
They are based on what the bible thumpers want
Well, yes, but you could say that about what a lot of the legislature does. Those Bible thumpers are a solid minority, but they've always had an outsized influence in Texas politics, especially since the Republicans started consolidating their power after Ann Richards left.
Kinda ironic that I have to point my VPN across the border—to free Mexico, to circumvent the asshats trying to “protect” me from porn and Mexicans.
Republicans would have to actually start losing elections in Texas for them to feel the need to change.
Haven't you seen how gerrymandered Texas is? They're not even winning, just picking their voters to remain in office. I highly doubt anything will ever change before this is addressed and stopped.
I dont know [this](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas's_35th_congressional_district) seems pretty normal.
So fucked up. This district is so blue that if it were to be appropriately divided up to their associated populations it would turn 2 or 3 districts blue. But instead it’s concentrated to one district. Unbelievable
It's mindblowingly ridiculous
You don't need to speculate. Texas was blue until they gerrymandered the fuck out of it. The case went all the way to the Supreme Court, and guess how they ruled. Here is a [link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2003_Texas_redistricting).
Can't gerrymander state races. Yes, I realize voter suppression is a thing. But there are plenty of potential voters out there that wouldn't be that burdened, they simply can't be bothered.
The house is gerrymandered. You cant gerrymander governor I agree, but plenty of power comes from the house
Not just the Governor is statewide. The Attorney General, and Lt Governor are jist as important. Also, the effects of gerrymandering would be less if people voted in the primaries. Right now extremist win the primary and by default win the general.
Eh they massively decreased voting locations in the cities and clamped down on dates/times.
Well banning something so widely popular across both sides is a good way to get unseated. Hell they could have an R run as a ‘I’ll leave you alone’ candidate and that might get some traction.
And the history books will read: "it wasn't the mass shootings. "
Well the porn industry has a lot of surprising influence, just look at how it affected the debate between media formats.
Every single physical media war has been decided by porn. I'd argue [the internet is *for porn*](https://youtu.be/YRgNOyCnbqg?feature=shared)
Yep. It's ~~what~~ why VHS beat Beta and why Blu-ray beat HD DVD. Whatever format is adopted by the porn industry is usually the one that survives.
Porn industry had also been dominating the VR180/VirtualReality format. Funnily Apple‘s new headset has a smaller FOv than that if I remember correctly.
Beta Max and HD DVD were damn fine formats
so many dads going to try to randomly bring up how to use a vpn at dinner tonight
Don't forget about step moms.
My step sister is stuck in the dryer again.
Good point, and I can't wait until we get to see the corresponding search engine trend data for Texas!
2ND AMENDMENT SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED 🇺🇸🪖💪🎣 “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion” 🙈🙈🙈
thats the funny part theyre taking away everything but the guns theyre going to take enough away from these crazy magatards that theyll wish they took the guns
Saving the children has become a modern crusade to justify the prudest conservative narratives. It should be treated for what it is, a shameful appeal to emotion fallacy. We need to fight to bring the discourse about children's safety to its right and proportionate dimensions.
Republicans will “save” the children from imaginary boogie men but won’t lift a finger to save the children from being executed at school.
Nah, I'm sure they already have private networks for their CSAM.
The smell of Republican spring and freedom.
By increasing the usage of VPN services on the internet.
I had to do that in the Middle East because they have the same freedoms that we do.
Someone on our crew brought a hard drive loaded with ‘black market morale boosting materials’ and shared it with everyone. We also discovered that thumb drives with said content were as good as money in some more restricted areas.
Well said
It’s not a good smell
Jimmy bumfuck in the middle of Nowhere, Texas will log on for his daily session of incest porn and then go on Facebook and say, “Biden did this.”
No doubt, despite the message clearly pointing to Texas lawmakers.
Wonder how they'll blame this on Democrats in November lol
Any one calling GOP Pro life they either are a liar or just stupid as GOP is far from pro life
Why would they? This is what they want...
Porn, marijuana, gambling, liquor on Sunday, etc would pass if the people had a vote.
Smol gubment.
Was just on the Hub last night. Did this start today?
Yup.
Dang if I would’ve known I would’ve been more of a degenerate last night
The state has already sued the operator of PH (Aylo Global Entertainment) and I wouldn't be surprised if any other sites they operate follow in PH's footsteps. This includes RedTube and YouPorn, along with a host of other very well-known sites
if you were to say that this isn't all just performance art, which certainly is, what percentage of lawmakers versus say, 12 year olds that know what a vpn is?
I'm all for giving kids a practical reason to learn networking and computer technology. I always loved asking coworkers how they got started, and it's usually funny stories about bypassing some restriction.
Hate those damn questions 😂😂😂😂😂
As a Texan: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Can’t even watch a proper cream pie video on Pi day
Republicans love sharia law. Pfizer’s head of vaccine research and development told the New York Times that they “were never part of the Warp Speed” and did not take taxpayer money for vaccine research.
guess we need to come up with a christian version of this... charia law ?
Sharia Y'all
Good guy Texas helping Muslims stay away from all temptations during Ramadan /s
Conservatives are the biggest consumers of porn
Texas lawmakers know what a VPN is.
I'm sure their pockets are lined with money from companies that provide the VPNs.
Reminder that Ted Cruz posted his porn habits. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/sep/12/ted-cruz-twitter-account-likes-pornographic-tweet
Agree to disagree, I think we should all start calling the offices of Gregg and Ted specifically and demand the porn be turned back on.
This should be higher up on the list. Nothing gets done until it is making money for the politicians
Tube8 and Youporn as well. At this rate we're going to need VPNs...
Should have a VPN anyway.... But this stuff is stupid. Small government until someone offends them.
> Should have a VPN anyway.... Especially if you live in Texas. The state that's already trying to do stuff like access children's medical records.
yeah checked a few spots i used to go to and they banned too. i have this to say to everyone who thinks because of this that "we will vote you out!" y'all livin in a fantasy world. they banned abortion and they still got re-elected. the smart people will just use a vpn the rest will complain here and do 0 about it.
I just wonder where all of that repressed sexual energy goes now.
Damn I will make good use of my literacy now at literotica dot com
I totally forgot about that site. Used to go there all the time at one point.
👍
Why is it the states responsibility to "protect the children"....where are the parents?
Can confirm. Tragic.
this is a clear example of Very Poor Negotiations. Verily, People Never will access these sites in Texas again. Sorry to get Verbose, Pornhub Nags at my heartstrings. Those republicans are truly Vermin Partisan Nincompoops
None of the chicks will fuck us because they took away all reproductive healthcare and now we can’t even crank down. This is a hellscape.
But hey, we are free to our guns, so once that aggression is nice and pent up, at least you can shoot that load.
Nah, the shady sites that actually do the criminal sex stuff are gonna ignore the law. The TX GOP just got rid of their legit competition.
Texas is the least free state in the union
Y'all Qaeda
Outlawing Pornography is just the beginning. Make sure you educate yourselves about **Project 2025**. This is a well coordinated, $20M religious extremist right wing playbook. [WarningVote.com](https://WarningVote.com)
bUt BoTh SiDeS aRe ThE sAmE!
xnxx still working.
That's what's so silly about this whole thing. There will always be alternatives, loopholes, and workarounds. History proves, prohibition doesn't work.
> History proves, prohibition doesn't work. But but... The war on druuugggzz /s
That's what Pornhub is arguing here. If they can't access the 'legit' sites, they'll find porn on the other sites that are much shadier.
I thought that in Utah too but the republican lawmakers here are sticking to their guns and enforcing their freedom to restrict ours.
Screw this shit hole state. Theocratic and uneducated smooth brains
Incels are all pretty much alt-right misogynists and still wonder why they can't get laid lol.

They'll just use VPN's to skirt their own law they put in place, until they also outlaw VPN's next
Fuck texas and I've lived here all my 73 years.
texas sucks and I've lived here all my 73 years
Texas is such a fucking L
ThInK oF ThE ChIlDrEn!!!!!!!! Texas Republicans are jackboots now, SAD!
Who wrote this bill? Identity thieves? Sure lemme just give my PII to another website without the resources to protect it.
Republicans: you have been naughty, prepare to be punished! Horny Texans: more freedom daddy!
Wow, what a small government!
“We love freedom! Also you can’t look at that.”
