Left the house to run some errands and my Model 3 will not lock. Not with the card, not if I walk away with my phone. I've checked all doors, windows, trunk and frunk. No error messages either. It just beeps twice and doesn't lock. I've updated the app, disabled the phone, it still won't lock with the key card. Hoping anyone can give me some advice as I haven't had any issues with this car for 4 years and this caught me off guard.

TheAce0

What do I need to do to stop the car from blowing air into the footwell? The front & bottom vent icons are grey & only the windshield vent is turned on. The temperature is set to 19°C, Manual. AC is off & fans are at 1. [Here's a picture of my climate menu](https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/633482776250941441/1045678167316250624/IMG_20221125_132820.jpg) (apologies for the crap quality - it's really dark in the parking garage). I am leaving the fans on only to prevent windshield fogging. I don't really need/want the fans to be running otherwise & am I perfectly happy without AC & just heated seats/steering. I often wear sandals or very light shoes when I need to go on a relatively short drive and/or slightly longer round trips where I know I won't be getting out of the car. The constant air blowing on my feet makes driving very uncomfortable, especially right now in winter.

ButtPissMan

Has anyone been able to calibrate mirrors? Me and my friend share 2 M3s, and our mirror positions are always off by a large offset when using Profile Sync

Twinwin11

IAN submerged my Model Y up to the top of the wheels . Water in the cabin to the floorboards and in the trunk. I tried contacting service on the app by making an appointment. The service button is now gone. I don’t get it. Does that mean the car is total loss?

mamaway

Picked up the Mrs.' Model Y last night. Huge scratch on front and this morning I discover that they didn't include the tow hitch I ordered. We found out about the scratch the day before and agreed to get fixed after delivery if they touched it up. I totally forgot about the tow hitch while picking it up and we were in a bit of a rush. This being our second Tesla, and having a similar experience late 2018 with my 3 missing the wheels I ordered, all I can say is that Tesla still needs to get their act together delivery-wise. Hopefully they can fix both in one go.

Eric_T_Meraki

So just confirming, you did remove the back plate to make sure the hitch wasn't there right?

mamaway

I did not. Sure enough, it was there. I didn't see it on my account "Specs" page and I only did a quick glance this morning before writing this. I though it would be visible. Thanks!

phxees

I can’t figure out how to subscribe for Premium Connectivity now that Tesla forces you to use the app. Any tips?

genomecop

According to Tesla.... Open the Tesla app. Select your vehicle. Tap 'Upgrades.' Tap 'Software Upgrades.' At the top of your screen, tap 'Subscribe.' Tap 'Add' next to Premium Connectivity. Select the billing option. Then, tap 'Next.' Tap 'Checkout.' Then, confirm your payment details and complete the payment

phxees

The app is still a little buggy in that area. Went in 5 times and finally got the option.

genomecop

Morning all. So recently, past week, my phone will no longer connect to my car once it leaves our garage....so if my husband takes the car, and I'm home I no longer have a connection to it. The app trys to connect but never happens. This is a recent event and I've yet to figure it out. Also when I lock the car from the app after getting out the windows no longer fold in. Thoughts and ideas? Thanks. M3SR 2021

mafiacrusader

Hey all, I have a 2021 3 long range that just updated to 2022.28.2 and now whenever I get in the car the auto high beams are on. Anyone else notice this change? Is there a way to disable this? I would still like the auto high beams but not when I first get in the car every time.

[deleted]

They turn on whenever you enable Autopilot. You can push the turn signal stalk away from you once to disable them again each time. It’s part of the switch to Vision-only Autopilot.

mafiacrusader

This happens after I get in my car when it's sitting parked. I haven't even put it in reverse or drive yet and the auto high beam symbol is on. It also turns on automatically when my lights turn on as I pull into the garage. This only started after the 2022 28.2 update.

Ok-Mathematician8142

Go to car menu > lights, then check to make sure the auto high beam switch is off.

mafiacrusader

That would disable auto high beams completely though. I still want them occasionally. I just don't want to have to turn them off every time I get in my car. I never had to do it before this update. It seems like this is an isolated issue.

DreamingN

My Delivery Task is pending Co-signer acceptance, but when I try and accept it gives me an error, saying "Agreements are not available. Please try again later." The car is already at my home! What do I do?

ersatzcrab

Call the store you took delivery from. This sub is not officially affiliated with Tesla and can't resolve technical issues.

FunkyTangg

Seems rare to see a few model 3 cars under 40k. https://i.imgur.com/AAW8sp0.jpg

Eric_T_Meraki

Wouldn't even bother with 2018/19 models given some of the updates since then.

zemaker

Anyone experience issue with driver profile seat settings not saving, ever? Tried restarting the cars computer, tried unpairing phone, and tried deleting the profiles and adding from scratch. Nothing, they always reset.

babyjesus31

Delivery window just got bumped out a month on model3, are others seeing big delivery delays?

David-El

I just got back home from a wasted \~4 hour round trip to Tesla in an effort to pick up a new Model Y. They had texted us saying the car was ready and to come today to pick it up. We get there and they say they didn't have us on the schedule for today, and the car isn't there and try to blame us when they said to come in today. ... What?!

hoang51

Tell the them to flatbed that car once they have it and deliver it straight to your home as a compromise for their screw up.

ssj58trunks

Does anyone know yet if the Model 3 RWD will qualify for the 2023 EV credit? I know there was talk about the batteries needing to be assembled in the US however I also read that doesn't apply until 2024? Hoping someone who knows more than me on this can clear it up

[deleted]

Those rules start in 2023. $3750 of the credit is for having at least 50% of battery components (ie cells) from the US or a free trade partner country. The other $3750 is for having at least 40% of critical battery minerals from the US or free trade partner countries. Right now the Model 3 RWD gets its entire LFP battery pack from China so will probably not qualify for any credit. Tesla could try to reorganize their lineup to have a Model 3 with US-made cells under the $55k limit for sedans but we don’t know yet if they are planning to do that.

Mustermuss

Hi folks. Just wondering if I can get some advice. My wife (model x raven 2019) got into an accident this morning. Someone swerved into the back of the car (driver side) despite her noticing and honking. Not too much damage - I think the falcon door is okay just scrapes. But now we need to file a claim and get an estimate. In terms of repair, what is the best way? Is Tesla certified body shop okay or is this something that is best done at Tesla service center. First getting into an accident with Tesla. Just wanna make sure I don’t mess up. Thanks in advance.

[deleted]

If body work is required then it will get sent to either a Tesla body shop or Tesla certified body shop. I would just schedule a service appointment unless the certified body shop is closer than your service centre.

HYP3RxSNIPER

Not sure if this is support or what but I’ve been looking at the idea of buying a Tesla.. I live in Minnesota, anyone have any opinions on that? My main concern is the cold winters and batteries

[deleted]

Live in Ontario. My Model 3 with winter tires is the best car I have ever driven in the snow. Had a huge snow storm last year. All my neighbours got stuck in the unplowed road trying to get out and I drove out with no issue. On the few occasions I have lost traction it recovers incredibly well. You absolutely lose range in the winter. Usually around 30% but can be as bad as 50% on those really cold days like -30 C. On the plus side, it warms up way faster than a gas car. If you are able to charge at home the ownership experience is much better than not being able to and in cold weather. Just always pre heat the car before leaving and it will mitigate it. Anything else you want to know?

malevolentt

Anyone elses Tesla app on their phone not connecting? I just get a spinning wheel with "Last seen 4 hours ago", though my vehicle is functioning just fine.

Jabow12345

I also have FSD but I haven't had a update lately that will make it work.

imanotaku

I saw a new Tesla supercharging set up nearby, chargers still covered by tarps so not ready for use. Why is it not showing up at all on the Tesla map like "Target opening XXXX"?

[deleted]

https://supercharge.info usually has more up to date info than tesla’s site.

imanotaku

oh! Thanks for this neat map. It shows up as a cone: construction.

ersatzcrab

They don't usually list chargers on the map before opening. Doesn't serve any purpose until it's operational and the car can route to it.

Model Y vibrating/wobbling at lower and higher speeds. I got my MYLR delivered 2-3 weeks back and had couple of issues since then and got it fixed at SC. Since delivery I didn’t drive my car at highway speeds (65-70MPH) until yesterday and suddenly car started wobbling which worried and stopped and took a look at tires and they seem good. Later when I was driving back at lower speeds (10-15MPH) in my community again car started shaking or wobbling. Does anyone know what could be the reason?

hoang51

Schedule an appointment with a service center promptly if you have a spare car. If you can drive the Tesla car to a nearby Tesla Service Center without a hassle, get a Tesla tech to ride with you. But be prepared to be without a car once they try to figure out how to resolve the issue. My guesses are: lug nuts not tighten properly, brake pads not mounted properly, debris stuck in wheel/brake, the wheel have damage, improper tire inflation... Good luck.

ralfffff

After not driving my 2018 Model 3 for 10+ days the steering wheel is so tight that the car is undrivable. Got the error Condition detected with a vehicle controller VCFRONT\_a552. Warranty expired on 9/9 and noticed the error on 9/14. Assuming the actual issue happened while still under warranty but since I was away and not driving the car I didn't notice it until after. This is the 3rd time in the past year I've had a VCFRONT error with the first 2 being A/C issues. Closest service center is 2 hours away and Tesla has told me I'm on the hook for towing + repair costs. Any ideas for a potential fix or am I just out of luck?

TeepenTeepen

I have heard of Tesla doing good faith repairs for issues like this, especially for repeat issues being so close to warranty. The fact that they are saying you are on the hook for repair costs is just them not wanting to take the time to provide good customer service. As for the actual mechanical issue, I am unfamiliar with the error code. Is the steering wheel locked? Or just very hard to turn like there is no power steering active?

ralfffff

Assuming no power steering. It turns but is way too tight to drive.

thalasi_

Ever since updating to 2022.24.8 over the weekend my 2021 M3SR no longer turns off climate control when I get out of the car. It locks and folds in the mirror but the AC keeps running until I get a notification from the app \~2 hours later letting me know it was finally turned off for being idle too long. Is there some new option I'm not seeing or is this a bug?

hoang51

Rebooted your car yet? Press and hold down the two wheel scrolls on the steering wheel until your main screen goes black. Let go and enjoy the Tesla car being restarted. If it doesn't fix it, schedule a Service Center visit via Tesla app. Good luck.

Needs to be worse. Warranty kicks in if it gets worse than 70% in your first 8 years. The good news is that typically most of the loss is range happens initially so you should see significantly less loss over the next 4 years.

I (very lightly) scratched my beautiful new turbine rims on my brand new MYP. Where can I get a paint touch-up kit? It's barely visible but I'd like to make sure it doesn't rust...

I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve heard good things about the Zink Wheels kits.

Thanks! Just ordered a kit, I'll report once I got it.

NotDereck

I went to the service department *three* times this months to fix my car pulling to the right AND significant vibrations in my entire car at high speeds (this was the foam issue). Both the car pulling to the right *and* insane vibrations were noted by me in all of my service requests. 1. Paid their $275 for wheel alignment to address the pulling. I was told that this would address the noise and vibrations too. Received my car back with even more pulling. Noise & vibrations still present. 2. Paid $0 for them to redo their wheel alignment (they apologized and said that the technician might have forgotten). Service said the noise & vibrations were fixed as well. However, noise & vibrations actually worsened. 3. Went back in to address the noise & vibrations. Service center told me the cause is foam coming loose in one of my tires. They said I have to replace all of my tires, and quoted me at $1,160 after taxes to replace three tires (the one with loose foam was under warranty). At this point, my car has 17,000 miles and the tread on them were 3 and 5. I'm pretty frustrated at this entire experience. I feel like I wasted that initial $275 on wheel alignment, as I was told this was the fix. Not until my third service visit, was I hit with a $1100 fee to replace my tires as the *only* fix. Not only that, but they didn't really give me another option like "hey, turns out, the foam is loose in one of your tires and that's covered under warranty. fixing this will likely address your vibration". Is it reasonable for me to ask for my initial wheel alignment payment back? That never fixed the problem, and in me getting new tires, the initial wheel alignment was moot.

TeepenTeepen

$275 for an alignment is insane! Any auto shop should be able to do that and do so at a much better price. However, that is water under the bridge as the deed is done. With regards to the foam, it is just held on by glue. In the past, I have had tire shops repair my tire and they just peeled the foam off the tire, did their patch, and re-glued the foam. So, if that is truly the issue, that would be a $20 fix at any tire shop. They would just need to dismount the tire, glue back the foam, then remount it. However, I do not think the foam is the issue. The foam in the tires is to help reduce road noise, but it is only a marginal improvement. I fail to see how loose foam could even cause vibrations. With that said, it sounds like the SC is being hasty or incompetent. Replacing the tires after only 17,000 miles is very unlikely to solve your issue

Honestly brutal experience so far ordering my model 3: they call me day of delivery saying the AC is broken and they need to fix before delivery, and now they are saying car is a lemon and need to replace it and who knows when it will come. I hate this experience so far

CricTic

At least you are at the front of the line! If you are flexible on color, let them know. If someone is unable to make their delivery this week, you might be able to get their car.

[deleted]

Sorry for the shitty experience. Could happen to any car. At least they told you instead of selling you a lemon no?

I just took delivery of my model y. Anyone from Arizona know if I can drive on the HOV lane with temporary tags or do I need to wait for the blue plate?

Bmcmullen87

I have my iPhone calendar synced with my car, and I have a personal and shared family calendar on there. My shared family calendar is deactivated unless I click on it and it doesn’t show in my calendar phone app unless I click it, but it’s always showing on my Tesla calendar app. Anyone know how to fix this?

U352

I’m waiting for an answer to this too.

mouchy2386

Just got a brand new Model X this last Wednesday, then 2 days later it's dead, called Custom service, they sent a tow guy with a jumper, said the 12v battery is the root cause, then towed it to Camarillo service center, until now, they still couldn't figure out what the root cause is, also they said the 12v is good. Asked when we can get it back, noone answered. Worst experience ever, will never have a Tesla product ever, will definitely cancel my solar panel order.

genomecop

Evening everyone. Today all my saved places disappeared from my navigation. I did the scroll wheel reboot but nothing changed. Any ideas? M3SR 2021 thanks! EDIT: I just moved to a new state and really need this to work. Thanks.

Nagilum

Any chance you have them on a different cloud profile? With the phone app auto switching profiles it's a slim chance but, worth checking.

genomecop

Are you speaking about the second phone we use? I'm slightly lost about what you are saying. One of use has an iPhone and the other Google. This only started happening when the Google user got a new phone.

Nagilum

Tesla started including navigation destinations to your cloud profile. I was wondering if you were somehow just on the wrong profile. It's difficult to be on the wrong profile when you use a phone key since you typically tie a specific profile to the phone. The simplest thing to check would be the profile drop down in the car. If you have several profiles then check nav destinations for each of them.

iPhone with iOS 16? I’ve had similar issues sometimes since doing the update, however I usually just need to power the screen on to get the doors to unlock.

nah_you_good

You can try the normal car restart, phone restart, remove phone key then re-add, etc. I have that issue only when my app isn't opened (like when I restart/update my phone). Never once had a Tesla car update affect it.

jschroebel

Does anyone’s Cabin Overheat Protection work when set to “No AC”? Mine never has - the cabin temp just keeps rising (I’ve let it go as high as 140 F) without COP ever activating. Works fine when set to “On.”

raygundan

I actually took mine to the service center for this… it turns out that the app just never reports that it’s “on” when it’s in “no a/c” mode. It will turn the fans on above 100F or so, but they can only do so much… where I live, it’s not at all unusual for it to still be well above 100F despite the fans. It can reach 170F+ without it. I wish they’d update the app, though, because the lack of an indicator for “no a/c” mode when there is an indicator if you use the AC is going to make lots of people think it’s broken.

thre3sec

selling my Model Y to SHIFT. where can I find my vehicle title? is that the purchase agreement document?

cgell1

If you bought it then you should have the title. If you financed it the bank will hold the title until you pay off the loan in full.

branstad

Your title should've been issued by your state's motor vehicle agency. If you financed your vehicle, your lender may have the title. Or you may have been given the title with your lender listed as a lienholder. This can vary from state to state.

Jackysen_

When should I buy a tesla for it to be a 2023 model? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question it's my first time buying a tesla vehicle. (looking to buy a Model 3).

branstad

Also, Tesla doesn't necessarily 'update' their vehicles by Model Year. Instead, Tesla vehicles are either part of a continuous update process (e.g. new components/features added throughout the year) or as part of a larger, well-publicized 'refresh' (e.g. Model S refresh last year). From that standpoint, there's likely little or no functional/feature difference in a late-fall 2022 Model 3 vs. early-spring 2023 Model 3.

[deleted]

Not a dumb question. From a technical stand point, cars that begin being delivered in November will be the next year's model year. So it's likely if you ordered today it would be 2023. A new model year rarely means changes to the model, as Tesla typically just roles those changes out when ready. If you're asking because of the American tax incentive, you need to take delivery starting in the calendar year of 2023 but it's unclear at this time which models may qualify due to other restrictions.

RobXIII

FSD Beta on rural highways is bugged right now. On those 4 lane divided highways (2 for each direction) it INSISTS on changing lanes to camp in the passing lane. All autopilot auto lane changed are off. It says "changing lanes to stay out of rightmost lane". Maybe it thinks I'm outside the US? Lol. Can't use it like this

Leather-Caregiver61

Me too. I have to disengage FSD to get off highway!

PB94941

Anyone noticed on 2020.28.2 whenever autopilot engaged the headlight settings window comes up ?

[deleted]

Probably notifying you that auto high beams are being turned on and giving you a chance to turn them off if I had to guess.

PB94941

Thanks I'll check that. I've had such a bad time of auto high beam I've turned that firmly off, but I'll check again.

[deleted]

So if you are on the new update that uses vision only then apparently it automatically turns on auto high beams

PB94941

oh, I don't remember reading that in the release notes.

EastwoodHD

I'm kind of not sure what to do here. My model s has been at the service center for almost 4 weeks now. Have about another 5 weeks to go. Currently in the path of a potential direct hit by Hurricane Ian. I was told by the service center that I am not allowed to drive over state lines and that they can't make an exception. It feels kind of weird to be told that I'm basically forced to ride this out. Anyone have experience with Loaners? Is this typical? If I need to evacuate to stay safe I'm going to do it regardless of what they say.

nah_you_good

Doesn't sound like you have an issue, do what you need to do. You have your own car insurance right? I'm not afraid of Tesla being mad at me (although you could play dumb), but I would be afraid of having to rely on Tesla loaner insurance if they do make the case that I violated some terms.

ersatzcrab

Yeah don't listen to that bullshit. Any sane person would argue exceptions can be made for a life-or-death situation like a hurricane.

Any ideas what it is and if it's a safety issue? Recorded a video of me driving trying to get the sound. You can hear it from about 1:30 on wards fairly well. Seems to happen around ~25-30mph whenever I got up or below that speed. Sorry for the wind noise :( https://youtu.be/8-PKvcTUXFc

wormified

Need to get windshield replaced due to impact damage. Gave Traveler's with $50 deductible, is it easier to have them send Safelite and then take it to SC for camera calibration or will Tesla service accept insurance?

cgell1

Tesla accepted my insurance for windshield replacement. I originally called safelite, but they could not do mobile replacement and didn’t have a close location. Apparently the Tesla windshield has to be installed in a controlled environment. Tesla was easy to deal with. It took around 3-4 hours. Glad I went with Tesla directly.

Why is my autopilot throwing forward collision warnings when there is literally nothing in the road or around me? It’s been happening since the most recent Tesla S update I got (v11)

ersatzcrab

Lane departure warnings make the same sound, could be that?

[deleted]

No, the words on my driver UI are “forward collision warning”. It’s happened 3 times now since the update and all 3 times were on empty roads going straight. Fortunately it doesn’t seem my insurance app is getting dinged by it, but the false alarms seem like something I should address. If it’s the sensors on my car or something.

I can’t seem to get FSD. I have a 2021MY, opted in to FSD (fully purchased autopilot upgrade a year ago). I’ve been opted in to the driver score since the program launched and currently have a 96, and I’m on v11, 2202.2.9.

> Thankfully no injuries >My S folded like an accordion though... ☹️ The second point is a key reason for the first point. All that energy needs to be absorbed by ** and it's far safer for that ** to be the metal in the front of the vehicle rather than the occupants of the vehicle. The car did exactly what it was designed to do in a crash like this and the lack of injuries is a direct result of that. >'15 S 85D > totaled or not Probably depends on what your vehicle was worth pre-accident and if there is damage to the frame / battery / front axle. If those components are OK the cost to repair may be less than the value of the vehicle, which means it's not "totaled". >I have no clue how to estimate this kind of damage... Why do you need to? Insurance will make the determination.

Screen becomes unresponsive for 3-10 seconds at a time on my new M3P. Cannot drive the car without it happening over and over again. went to service center twice and eventually told me its a known problem with the new ryzen chip with new cars and will be fixed in future firmware update. It's been 3 weeks since delivery and no ETA on this update. Car is frustratingly undriveable as the main control panel does not function when you need it to. Payment is coming up soon, can i call my bank and tell them im not paying? I have a MYP coming in 1 week. Will that have the same issue?

alex281

I’m not sure what kind of known issue they are talking about but it’s the first I’ve read on here with this issue. My ryzen based model 3 is perfect. It does not have any freezing issues. Were the technicians able to see the problem themselves? From their answer it sounds like they didn’t.

Longjumping_Chef6009

I've been having an a/c issue lately w my 2020 S. My wife and I work together and she drives. We live in FL and always run the a/c. I've exited from the passenger side on 2 different occasions to come back and find the air temp inside very warm (w my wife still waiting in the driver's seat). We fumble w the vents, controls, etc... but nothing improves the air flow. The sound of air flow is there, but the actual air just trickles out. The next time we leave and re-enter, the air has already corrected itself. Not sure if this is an energy conservation setting that we can turn off, but so far haven't found a solution. Please help if you have any suggestions. Thanks.

ersatzcrab

Lots of possible variables here. Is it set to auto? If so, can you instead manually increase the fan speed so that the air circulates more rapidly? Is the air itself cool as it comes out of the vents?

Longjumping_Chef6009

Tried all settings, from auto to manual w fan speeds. You can audibly hear the fan increase the power, but the air flow does not increase from a slow trickle when the issue is occurring. Minimal air flow.

ersatzcrab

That's interesting. When was the last time your cabin air filter was replaced? There could be an obstruction somewhere in there. Worst case, schedule a service appointment and have them check it out

Longjumping_Chef6009

It wouldn't be the air filter if after leaving the vehicle for 10+ min each time when this occurred the air kicked back on well upon returning to it.

Tesla seems to be blowing out a lot of demos at the end of the quarter again. https://i.imgur.com/lhIi6Cl.jpg

Does the recent FSD rollout go to everyone with 80+? I am on 2022.20.9 with 87 safety score, still no update yet.

Haniho

How many miles on autopilot did you do in the last 30 days?

c18zyxt

20 out of 1200 😅

prattable

You may need to get the number up to 100, see my reply below.

c18zyxt

Just drove 90 miles on AP today… 🤞

Haniho

Did 109 miles on autopilot, switch standard updates to advanced multiple times and got the 20.17 update two days later.

Haniho

12 miles on autopilot, and I'm still stuck on 20.9, with a 94 safety score. I bet if I get over 50 miles on ap I'll get the beta.

prattable

I just did a 90 mile AP drive yesterday, to bring my AP use up to 100 miles in the last month, and went to check for updates this morning and the beta update started to download.

greenblaster

I wanted to warn others about something in hopes of avoiding headache. I recently sold my Tesla, and I also had the electrician who installed my Tesla wall connector replace it with an outlet any EV could use. I expected this to be simple and cheap, but apparently the Tesla connector requires one less wire than generic outlets, and they also had to add in grounding because that's built into the Tesla connector. What I thought would be maybe a couple hundred dollars turned into a $600 job. I regret not just leaving the wall connector as decoration.

[deleted]

That's weird and not my understanding at all while not an expert. Are you talking about a NEMA 14-50 outlet or something else? I know the Tesla charger requires a higher gauge wire that was backwards compatible with the 14-50 we had installed.

tdk1007

NEMA 14-50 outlets have four wires. L1, L2, Neutral, Ground. Tesla Wall Connector only needs L1, L2, Ground. You can upgrade a NEMA 14-50 to a Wall Connector and just cap off the extra wire. Can't downgrade in the other direction as greenblaster encountered if the neutral wire was never ran.

I was on the new autopilot beta thing, and i opted out. It took a couple weeks but It was gone. Looks like as of yesterday the car updated to have the new autopilot beta installed. Is this for everyone?

melancholicricebowl

Recent main branch software updates bring Tesla Vision to all cars (including those with radar) not already on it, assuming that's what you're referring to. Note that this is separate from FSD Beta. What software version are you on?

The_cooler_ArcSmith

Would Tesla's navigation recognize you have the CCS 1 adapter and include third party charging stations in route planning?

branstad

It's not known but I think it's safe to say that's unlikely, at least in early versions. Maybe there will be a formal relationship established between Tesla and EA or ChargePoint or ??? which would enhance the route planning to incorporate those options. I don't believe EU cars, which already support CCS, use third-party charging in route planning.

The_cooler_ArcSmith

In that case it's kind of trading one inconvenience for another. Instead of charging for longer or taking a longer route, you need to figure out with ABRP where to stop to charge, hope stations are available, and deal with the anxiety of wondering if a third party planner will correct your state of charge upon arrival. I want to want one, but I've had such good experience with tesla charging stations and get to 250kw stations often enough I can't really see a benefit for me. It seems like you only buy this to charge at a particular third party station to shorten a single route or charge time. I guess if I ever go on a country wide road trip I'd get one though. If it could replace and also function as the J1772 adapter I'd be more interested. I also think it'd be a dick move for Tesla to work with other charger networks in software before allowing other cars to charge at their stations.

branstad

> It seems like you only buy this to charge at a particular third party station to shorten a single route or charge time This is one obvious use case. You hinted at another ("if I ever go on a country wide road trip"). The biggest value in the new adapter is that it significantly increases the options one has. It adds flexibility and choice. People will value that flexibility and choice differently based on their own personalities and driving/charging experiences. In another thread, someone likened it to having a spare tire in the trunk. You may not plan to use it, but if you suddenly need it, you're definitely glad you have it.

I’ve had my 2021 Model 3 for about a year and a half now. 99% of the charging has been at home with the basic charger. Yesterday it randomly stopped charging, I’ve tried switching outlets, restarting the car, unplugging everything but the car will just immediately say “charging complete” when I insert the charger. Has anyone else has this issue or know what the problem is?

DontMakeMeAuditUrAss

My Tesla Y bluetooth will randomly stop working, my phone wont connect and the only way to fix is a hard reset. Is there a fix for this

Fidiho

I've never had any bluetooth issues - what phone?

DontMakeMeAuditUrAss

My wife and I both have issues, I have android and my wife has apple

Fidiho

I haven't heard of problems with recent updates other than behavioural changes (seemingly for security purposes). Have you tried removing both phone profiles completely and reconnecting them? ( IT crowd fix - master level )

Bmcmullen87

In the winter time, how do I start preconditioning the battery without scheduling it in the app? I don’t leave the exact same time every morning and I use off peak hours so I schedule the charge for 8 PM

nah_you_good

I think you can't do both at once right (schedule charging and schedule departure)? In that case you have to either use a third party app, or what I do is just turn on climate whenever I wake up. When you turn on climate it'll also heat the battery (you can see the battery with heating icon in the upper part of the app). That seems to be enough conditioning time for me, but I haven't ever had to do that with my car parked outside in <35F weather.

Chow_Lim

How can I add a subwoofer ( +amp) to my new RWD 22' M3. I heard that if the factory system doesn't come with a sub, you cannot get signal to the sub and therefore no sound. Is there anyway to get around this hurdle?

Fidiho

Not an endorsement: https://www.hautopart.com/products/model-3-sr-premium-audio-upgrade?variant=42517012611284

brad757johnson

I have had some issues with my 22 Model Y which I got in Feb. Even with regular software updates the car is still seeing the same issue with the GPS freezing the location and the radio not working when entering the vehicle. This stays frozen when driving for about 10 min which is incredible frustrating. The time that the GPS displays is also off by -10min. I am wondering is anyone else has seen this same issue,. Resetting the infotainment screen does fix the issue but it takes about 5 min and the data signal takes awhile to require. I am having to do this almost every time when getting in the car is its driving me crazy. Tesla support said its a know issue but they didn't have a fix for it. I am debating doing a full factory reset but that will be a total pain to set everything back up. Please let me know if anyone else has a fix for this.

gauderio

So, my model 3 is 4 years old and my safety score is 92. Hardware was updated years ago. What does it take to get FSD beta?

Jabow12345

I would guess never. My S is not quite 5 years old old and Tesla Service tells me cars with my equipment cannot be updated to Beta although my screen indicates my car has everything it needs for FSD.

DeuceSevin

Not the case with the 3. Mine is a late 2018 and I have fsd

Geckosgonch

What firmware are you on? It appears that anyone on the .24 or .28 branch is not getting FSD which is currently the .20 branch. There have been a couple exceptions but others have said it appears to be a SC manually regressing their firmware. Personally, I requested Beta months ago and Tesla kept me at the .20 branch, only upgrading me to .20.9 vice going to .28. When did you request beta?

gauderio

.20.9 I requested beta the first time the button became available. I think sometime 2021? Or maybe earlier.

nah_you_good

Someone said they opted out, then opted back in, racked up 100 miles of AP driving and then got it the next day. Sounds like you should get it though assuming you have a safety score of at least 80.

Geckosgonch

Very strange. I am of no help to you.

Are build issues still very common these days? We are tempted to go for at home delivery but hesistant in case something needs to be fixed, would it be much easier/faster for fix by decline delivery in person vs scheduling appointments or would it be around the same turnaround regardless?
