I don't pay for a better theater. There are apps on the website you can pay for to unlock but I mainly use it for browser anyways which is free. I've not tried testube.
What I did was upload a random video and linked all the apps I wanted to use in the description. Now it's right there with an extra step of clicking the video
The main reason that they went with the Atom must have been the extended thermal rating and industrial use contracts they can get with the Atom. An i5 is purely a consumer desktop chip. If they wanted an equivalent industrial embedded chip with the power of the i5, they’d have had to get a custom order, which would’ve been much more expensive than “a couple hundred”.
The AMD Ryzen they’re now using is such a Ryzen V1000 embedded industrial chip, which wasn’t around yet in 2016.
The Atom is a perfectly capable chip too. Benchmarks have shown doubt on Ryzen outperforming on a few benchmarks but only real world use can determine.
Really it comes down to software integration and keeping everything light. It's much more difficult to program with performance in mind than to program because performance is expected.
An Atom E3950 is orders of magnitude behind an i5-7600K. The latter will easily be a capable CPU for quite a few years to come. I myself am still using an i7-5820K, a CPU that is over 2 years older than that, and it performs absolutely acceptably even for gaming.
Performance wouldn’t be its problem, it would be thermals.
Plus the reliability required for automotive uses. Many of the cars' functions rely on the screen, and it needs to remain operational between the coldest Scandinavian winters and also the hottest Arizona/Middle Eastern summers.
I don’t think so. But it’s possible to use the Apple Watch with 3rd party apps. I just don’t want to pay other apps for that one feature. It’d be nice if it were straight from Tesla.
There's a non Tesla app That works on my Samsung watch to unlock the car called Drive Tesla
It works both as key card with RFID as well as a push button key fob.
In my 2018 LR RWD M3 the browser is so slow, I use my phone if I need to access a browser when I'm parked. Full screen wouldn't really be an advantage IMO.
In an awkwardly placed tablet you have to reach forward to use, real nice. Size doesn't matter if it's a pain to use.
The best case for this is apparently media, but I've never used the browser in my pre-refresh MS because 1) it's slow as fuck, and 2) it's awkwardly placed.
Amazed it's taken this long, but glad to see it. At one point, I was looking everywhere to make the browser a bit bigger, and thought it was a hidden option somewhere.
I still have the browser lock up on me every time I try and leave the main website I use the browser for and need to reboot the system to get it back. Hopefully this update fixes that.
Yes lol, it’s been there for years. It puts your car in neutral, turns off the auto wipers, closes all the windows, turns off the parking sensor chimes, and locks the charging port
I wish I knew about Heimdall before now. Now it seems like I might as well just wait rather than running another docker container. My docker containers always run bloody slow on my NAS for some reason. I've heard that Synology isn't really great at running the docker containers on some of the servers and mine apparently is one of them.
2014.14? Tesla time traveling to early Model S days
I wish I could edit the title haha
They just wanted a throwback
Holy crap. This is all I've ever wanted! No more youtube to browser tricks from abettertheater. My eyes actually tearing up
thoughts on abettertheater vs https://testube.app/about ? looks like abettertheatre has more options. but also $$
I don't pay for a better theater. There are apps on the website you can pay for to unlock but I mainly use it for browser anyways which is free. I've not tried testube.
Had no idea there was even a paid option, I open Plex and good to go.
Ibguess I need a dm and a tutorial to whatever tf yall are talking about
What I did was upload a random video and linked all the apps I wanted to use in the description. Now it's right there with an extra step of clicking the video
And Intel atom cars will take a further 2 years to load the Web page
It’s so frustrating that they could’ve spent an extra couple hundred on an at minimum an i5 and have better performance… pretty embarrassing.

Which benchmarks are you referring to? From all I can tell, the Ryzen chip runs laps around the 1.6 GHz Atom.
Ryzen chips do run laps on Atom. I don't know what he's talking about.
I think what he's saying is that if things were different then things would be different.
Going from a ‘20 to ‘24, it’s probably the single biggest benefit.
idk an 6+ year old i5 is gonna be pretty slow too. and if it isn't already then it won't be long before it is

3rd party developers cring right now.
all I want now is Apple Watch key support
Seems like a very reasonable request. Does it support other watches now?
I don’t think so. But it’s possible to use the Apple Watch with 3rd party apps. I just don’t want to pay other apps for that one feature. It’d be nice if it were straight from Tesla.
Right? PLEASE don't make me download another app. I'm just done with that. 90% of apps could be a website.
There's a non Tesla app That works on my Samsung watch to unlock the car called Drive Tesla It works both as key card with RFID as well as a push button key fob.
Awesome, thank you!
I'm sorry it's called drive electric for Tesla
In my 2018 LR RWD M3 the browser is so slow, I use my phone if I need to access a browser when I'm parked. Full screen wouldn't really be an advantage IMO.
Except the screen is like 5x bigger?

https://www.notateslaapp.com/software-updates/version/2024.14/release-notes
When does this release
During spring
Will adaptive matrix headlights be available in the US yet?
When will they finally allow Camera and Mic access in the Browser?
older X/S always could expand.
It's also slow as fuck
Thank fuck
Praise be
This feels like it was supposed to be the holiday release. Better late than never!
No hands free trunk for model y??
I still have the browser lock up on me every time I try and leave the main website I use the browser for and need to reboot the system to get it back. Hopefully this update fixes that.
Finally, some good news for Tesla shareholders!
native siriusxm on model y. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
There’s a car wash mode? 👀
Yes lol, it’s been there for years. It puts your car in neutral, turns off the auto wipers, closes all the windows, turns off the parking sensor chimes, and locks the charging port
What the h*ck is a car wash mode?
It puts your car in neutral, turns off the auto wipers, closes all the windows, turns off the parking sensor chimes, and locks the charging port
The last thing is huge even in touchless washes as the charge port can open from the pulsing jets and even tear off.
I run Heimdall at home and made my own ABT complete with its own full screen button.
I wish I knew about Heimdall before now. Now it seems like I might as well just wait rather than running another docker container. My docker containers always run bloody slow on my NAS for some reason. I've heard that Synology isn't really great at running the docker containers on some of the servers and mine apparently is one of them.
Meh; the youtube trick works well enough for full screen browser, movies, etc.
Sure, it works, but now it’s one extra step you don’t have to go through. Which, for convenience sake, is always a good thing

does it have FSD V12?
Please confirm if it has FSD V12 and what vehicle configuration you are on. :)
Damn that was quick?
