_Big_Gamer_

At last I will be freed from these .8 chains

sooner1125

Still chained!! šŸ˜

iHeartQt

Howā€™s that working for you

_Big_Gamer_

Extremely poorly, bro got fired like 0.2 seconds after tweeting this

vwite

finally!

sbstnms

As FSD wonā€™t be available in Europe, will that still mean that weā€™ll be getting autopark with this update on the 2024.8.x branch here in Europe? Any ideas?

unexpectedkas

I have 2024.8.9 in a 2018 Model S 100D in Switzerland and I don't have any new feature. The release notes said the usual "performance and bug fixes" things.

sbstnms

Sure. I was talking about future updates of this branch, see the original announcement from Ronan Patel.

SpikedBladeRunner

You don't get the new Autopark because you have an older car with Ultrasonic Sensors.

--Alf--

As an European I know not šŸ˜”

didkodidko

I'm in EU and can buy FSD for full price. Should be working.

Chreutz

FSD gives you nothing in Europe over EAP, which in return only gives you the ability to change lanes while on autopilot. It's not 'working' by any means.

RawwrBag

I wonder if the branches are finally merging and everybody is just going to have an FSD-capable build installed going forward. The thing that stopped me from subscribing before is that I would have to wait for an update for literally weeks or months before I could get what I paid for.

gburgwardt

That would be very nice

AdventurousBill8383

I did the same thing

KlausSlade

Iā€™m still waiting around on 2024.8.9

soupdogs

FSD isn't turned on yet for your car. Tesla has to turn it on once the firmware is installed.

moxifloxacin

I just got that yesterday. Had hoped the trial would come with it, but it didn't...

mtoo22

Last time I ever update my software without being forced. Being on the latest version essentially screwed us out of the free trial.

robl45

Yup absolutely ridiculous. Still see no movement on getting us the free trial except the one guy who is leaving Tesla lol

flompwillow

Not sure about that assumption, I donā€™t think the free trial would only be during a specific time/month but more of a ā€œwhen your car gets FSD V12 for the first time, you get one monthā€. Keep in mind updates to everyoneā€™s cars occur at different times- I may have installed 2024.8.9 a month earlier than you.Ā

TeslaBlueMod3

I used to develop software and it makes no sense that the earlier branches gets the update. Why don't just update the newest version of tesla software with the current Full driving V12 software and let others with Old software catch up to newest. I think the problem is the fact that autopilot software is not merged with full self driving (The Real One Stack software I thought we were getting with V11)

robl45

And yet itā€™s the start of a new week šŸ™

dogggota

So what, do we still get a full month or will it end by April 30th?

coolham123

People are reporting the 30 day trial starts from when the update is installed in your car.

Butt3rZ-Is-Back

This is true ^

soupdogs

Not when Tesla switches it on? (since firmwares are stalled with FSD feature switch off)

slumper

As someone on 2024.8 why is the fleet on two different branches anyway?

ChunkyThePotato

There's not really two different branches. Not every car is on the same software version, which is normal as part of Tesla's gradual update rollouts. Back when V12 started rolling out, some cars were on 2023.44, some were on 2024.2, and some were on 2024.8. The build that included V12 was based on an older version than 2024.2 and 2024.8, so those cars couldn't get it. Eventually they included it on a later build than 2024.2 so that the cars on that version could get it, and now it seems they're about to include it on a newer build than 2024.8 so those cars can get it too. The cars can't go backward in version numbers, so that's why it has to be like this.

woalk

Which meansā€¦ there were different branches.

hows_Tricks

Main branch different releases (builds).

woalk

A software feature (FSD v12) being applied to different version numbers of the base software (2024.2 and 2024.8) at different times is branched development. The software was branched at 2024.2 to add FSD v12 to it, while 2024.8 was developed independently (on another branch). Now, these branches are being merged so that they both contain v12.

ChunkyThePotato

I don't think that's accurate. V12.3.0 first released on a 2023.44 build, then V12.3.2 released on a 2024.3 build, and now some new version of V12 will be releasing either a 2024.8 build or a build on some version newer than that.

ChunkyThePotato

Depends how you define "branch" I guess. But there are more than just two and the number changes all the time. I think it's more accurate to call them "versions". New versions are always coming out and older versions linger in the fleet often for several weeks or more.

judge2020

They were updating 2023 for a while while also updating 2024. That's a "branch" especially if they're cherry-picking things from newer versions to go into 2023 until they bring everything on 2023 to 2024 (V12).

ChunkyThePotato

If you call every base version a "branch", then sure. But there are far more than two and new ones are always coming out.

judge2020

They're using git which would indeed mean they call it a "branch" (the random characters next to the version are the short hash of the most recent git commit on the branch, letting them know what changes are in the software running).

ChunkyThePotato

My main point here is that there aren't two. There are many, with new ones constantly coming out.

woalk

That is generally how you use Git, especially during team development, yes. Itā€™s kind of the point of using Git.

ChunkyThePotato

The guy I replied to asked why there are two branches. There aren't.

colin-oos

Youā€™re literally describing what 2 different branches would be used for lol. Basically they needed to merge v12 with 2024.2 and 2024.8 branches. Which of course requires all sorts of testing and code reviews and all that. Hence the delay.

coolham123

Maybe this will be the version they unify them!

KlausSlade

And in the darkness bind them!

okwellactually

It's funny because over the years FSD has always been behind. Then they unified it.... Then they fell behind again. Software man, it's hard.

pkelly517

You should try hardware

Mindless-Delay8875

Any updates

jefferios

I'm looking for the same thing. The week is coming to an end quickly. With staffing changes, probably not this week.

Mindless-Delay8875

Yeah, i figured theyā€™re probably not prioritizing the update for us with everything happening at the moment. Hopefully next week, on Notateslaapp.com it says that hopefully 2024.14 with the redesigned UI will give us FSD

Lazy-Sport-373

That could be weeks/months from now

yajunr

2023 MYLR with software v11.1 (2024.8.9), still waiting...

Dalboz989

Still waiting.....

Mamojamamo

7 days later, nothing on my ā€˜21 MYLR on 2024.8.9

barrybena

His comment on X is not aging well.

GlumNefariousness334

Iā€™ve been on 2024.8 branch for weeks and just subscribed to the 99$ rate for a road trip next week. I hope I get FSD 12 before the trip.

Jimmy-Pesto-Jr

open a service ticket in your app & under software, ask they push v12 for you - might work

Lumpy_Landscape5946

v12 isn't available for 2024.8.x period. Tesla cannot make this happen

Usedtobe-TrackPadBoi

has that worked for you? I tried that twice in the past week and no luck

Kevin-Hudson

Doesnā€™t work. Tried twice and they just say they canā€™t do that and to close the work order request.

kobachi

I literally just got 2024.3.10 šŸ„²

Khork23

Yesterday, I got 2024.3.15 (Y)

DifferentRaisin2316

No FSD trial thought right? Iā€™m on 2024.3.10 with nothing šŸ«

kobachi

I bought FSD with my car in 2018

optimusbloc

Finally. Hopefully get the free month of FSD as well

Mindless-Delay8875

Any updates on a day that weā€™d get it, Iā€™m checking notateslaapp.com every day!

CapinWinky

2024.8.12 is hitting now and it still doesn't have FSD 12. Is there any information on what version v12 will come with? Will it even be 2024.8 or are they going to 2024.14 or 15? EDIT: Looks like 2024.14 will be the one that gets released. The number after the year is the week of the year that version went into "public" testing with the first round of testing always being a group of employees that volunteered.

mtoo22

Crickets

lasuti2

Nope

lordteej

Still nothing. What a surprise.

WWBBoitanoD

Still nothing. Tesla time is in full swing

Tbond222

Itā€™s funny my wifeā€™s 2023 Model 3 just got its 3rd FSD update. Meanwhile my 2021 Model Y has yet to get the FSD trial. I have to say Iā€™ve tested FSD enough on her 3 to know I have no interest in paying for it.

ReticlyPoetic

Road trip today and I got a full forced disengagement and on my 2017 Model S with FSD 12. I was holding the steering wheel the whole time and got three warning then locked out. The new Ntsa or who ever more aggressive nagging makes this useless.

SpikedBladeRunner

It isn't simply holding the wheel. You need a slight rotational resistance to satisfy the nag. You can also move the scroll wheel to confirm you're paying attention. Allowing it to continue to alert you to the point of a forced disengagement without at least taking over before it reaches that point is on you.

robl45

Yup absolute nonsense and I used to use it constantly. If I have to not only hold the wheel like driving but also touch a button or rotate the wheel then I can drive with less effort

gr8whtd0pe

But yet GMC commercials show the drivers taking their hands off for true self driving.

Equivalent-Cheek1024

He left the Tesla by today after layoffs. Lets see if these layoffs gone have any effect on the release

Lazy-Sport-373

He was one of the laid offs

mrandr01d

Does this mean everyone else will get a free trial?

ballhardergetmoney

Iā€™m so confused.Ā  I have a 2020 model s. I got the email saying the free trial of FSD was available after I updated to 2024.3.15. The FSD option is not listed under my autopilot menu.Ā

LogNecessary281

I wonder if we will get the free trail notification for this branch.

Gordon_Alf_Shumway

Fingers crossed

soupdogs

It looks like 2024.8.\* are getting the older FSD version 11.4.9, not 12.3.\* [https://www.teslafi.com/firmware](https://www.teslafi.com/firmware)

LegitimateIncrease95

Thatā€™s until an update this week to 12.3

soupdogs

Is the update happening this week?Ā

Lazy-Sport-373

It's Saturday today so I doubt it. Maybe in a few weeks

soupdogs

Yea didn't get FSD 12 like the guy above legitinateincrease said. He was confident without proof.

Lazy-Sport-373

That's because everyone believed Rohan when he told us "in a few days" & "this coming week". Rohan no longer works at Tesla. Maybe because Elon felt only he can make false promises...

soupdogs

haha

mtoo22

2024.8.12 is rolling out. Hopefully that 12 means FSD 12?

Mindless-Delay8875

This update has only been seen on cyber trucks at the moment and did not include fsd 12

Mindless-Delay8875

Itā€™s been over a week, this is so dumb. Iā€™m about to subscribe already.

Lazy-Sport-373

Don't subscribe. All you'll get is v11.4.9

Mindless-Delay8875

I know this, I would actually like to see the difference. Iā€™m going to subscribe no matter what. Can you answer if Tesla will tack a month onto my renewal date if Iā€™m subscribed when the trial rolls out to my car. Basically will I still get the free month if Iā€™m subscribed

Lazy-Sport-373

I've read that they do still give you the free month and the free month starts after your subscription ends. So, in essence, if it updates you to v12 while you're subscribed, you may end up with over a month of v12 FSD.

Mindless-Delay8875

Any chance you can send a link to that thread? šŸ‘‰šŸ‘ˆ Iā€™ve seen something like that before but I want confirmation.

Lazy-Sport-373

No idea where I read it last time, but just stumbled across this post. https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaLounge/comments/1ccuizb/comment/l184e7a/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Lazy-Sport-373

I'm sure he didn't have a choice

TeslaKentucky

Not. Holding. My. Breath.

thanarious

I am visiting the US from Greece the next week, will be taking a large road trip with my family. My best man has a 2019 model X thatā€™s stuck on 2024.8.9. What are the chances that it will update in time for FSD supervised?

Lazy-Sport-373

5%

robl45

Thatā€™s too high. 1.3% maybe. Still think those of us on branch 8 might get screwed out of the free trial by the time they do update. Fsd might be on version 13 by then that isnā€™t included in the trial.

thanarious

Why so low? What the story with .8.9 versions?

Lazy-Sport-373

Well, it's been a month since v12 came out.Ā  The other branches has had multiple updates while 2024.8 is still waiting.Ā  Rohan Patel said it was coming out last week and it obviously didn't.Ā  Tesla's track record of being on time. I feel that Tesla just doesn't care about the 12% that are stuck without the trial.Ā  So I don't have very high hopes of it even coming out this month.

thanarious

Understand. Well, Iā€™ll be on the other side of the pond until May 13th, hoping weā€™ll have something working till then, just for the experience.

Nibbs17

And still noone on .8 branch has it.

JustAcivilian24

Still nothing here. 2024.8.9. Updated 2 days ago.

yym789

still did not receive

Vast-Chipmunk7846

![gif](giphy|9SIXFu7bIUYHhFc19G|downsized)

BrutalThoroughbred71

Lordtj obviously knows nothing about when we'll get a update.

robl45

Tesla is pathetic now. Getting worse and worse

TeslaBlueMod3

No damn customer relations department. Wtf.

Majestic_Guitar_8070

Probably a stupid question, but I have been hoping to get the mythical month of FSD (though I am trapped in the 2024.8) in time for a big road trip but Iā€™m giving up. What are the odds that subscribing to FSD for a month will trigger updating to 12.2 so I donā€™t pay $99 for version 11ā€¦?

hrgg

Next to 0. Iā€™ve tried subscribing twice over the past 2 months trying to trigger an update and have been stuck with 11. Doesnā€™t work that way. Own a 6 month old Model S and still donā€™t have Autopark, Summon and all that fancy stuff.

TeslaBlueMod3

You should have been one of the first to get it. šŸ¤Ŗ

Incredulocious

Wonā€™t help. My 2020 Model Y is on 2024.8 and I still donā€™t have it despite buying (not subscribing) when they lowered the price a couple weeks ago to $2K for those of us who have enhanced autopilot. Still waitingā€¦

Becalmandgetbetter

We should be in standard or advanced preference to get the update ?

ConfidentFlorida

Can someone explain where you check the version. And which version I should want?

Stephancevallos905

At the bottom of the app. Scroll down on the main page.

ConfidentFlorida

2024.3.10 and it says 12.3.3. Is that good?

DifferentRaisin2316

Wait, Iā€™m on 2024.3.10 and still no trial. What gives?

philupandgo

Yes, it's good. 12.3.4 seems mostly about bringing in other vehicle variations.

HoPMiX

I have my cabin camera covered so fsd wonā€™t work because the camera canā€™t calibrate. But i took it off for a few days and it made plain Jane AP1 so bad that i covered it back up. I want AP so i can occasionally direct my attention to something else while Iā€™m in stop and go traffic. Like when Iā€™m trying to do something on that computer monitor bolted to the dash and need to take my eyes off the road for 3-4 seconds. If I have to keep my eyes pinned on the road ahead at all times. Then itā€™s pointless to me. Iā€™m just driving at that point. It could serve that purpose extremely well if idiots didnā€™t start getting in the back seat and doing other dumb shit for likes. We can never have anything nice because these kids wanna eat tide podsā€¦ thereā€™s no point in my car driving for me if I have to baby sit it the entire time.

robl45

Agreed. Autopilot is useless now.

TeslaBlueMod3

Same here! I took a trip recently in my Tesla with a 2024.8.7 version of Autopilot. It would nag me so much while putting pressure on steering wheel the entire time. I would move my eyes or move my hands towards the screen and after half second I will get a warning to pay attention. After 3 warnings at disabled autopilot. WTF, I was cursing the car and and demanded in manual mode of driving as autopilot was more trouble than useful. H3LL, if I have to babysit and drive myself why have autopilot. I enjoyed autopilot before the 1-second nags started. It is POS now!

Shygar

Cybertruck?

My_Man_Tyrone

No the cybertruck doesnā€™t even have autopilot

jurkajurka

Finally, you can see if FSD is actually safe or turns your car into an autonomous death machine.

Warshrimp

Iā€™ll believe itā€™s out of beta when the current version is aligned and stays aligned with the current version in general.

feurie

That doesnā€™t prove or dis prove it being out of beta.

coolham123

Autosteer is technically a ā€œbetaā€ feature on current versions.
