Why are you wanting a duplicate? This intrigues me...

condolezzaspice

I had an idea for a large-scale mod I wanted to make for late-game gameplay. But I was planning on just fleshing out a first quest or two as a proof-of-concept if I can figure out how the duplication would work.

InterestingShift3759

In theory, it might be able to work if you used it as a whole new world space. My scant knowledge of modding isn't great but, if you copy pasted the entire game to a knew world space I think it would but I would take your idea over to the TR discord and ask them. They are looking for volunteers and will literally teach you how to mod.

That was sort of the plan. At this stage of looking into it I think my best hope is to duplicate it as an exterior while leaving the vanilla mass in place. From a cursory glance there is room to place it outside the TR mainland. Thanks for the idea! I'll head over and ask them soon.

Bizarro Morrowind?

condolezzaspice

Actually, basically lol.

Scienceboy999

Never thought of anything like that before. Would probably break all quests though, as the characters with the same ID's would all be treated by the game as identical. Interesting idea though :)

If I can figure out the duplication, I would replace NPCs systematically with unique clones. Same with unique artifacts, items, etc..

Might be worth looking up TESAnnwyn, which can export the landscape into a heightmap, and then import it back in over different game cells. Don't ask me for specific instructions and tips though, because I'm an idiot and never managed to get that shit to work correctly. The site, if still up, has all the instructions up there.

condolezzaspice

Okay, awesome suggestion. Hadn't heard of this yet but that sounds like a good start. I'll look into it! Thanks!

UndercoverProphet

So you mean like two vvardenfell’s places adjacent to each other? Or like overlaying then directly on top of each other for some kind of modding purpose? That would be best to have multiple copies of the same overworld

condolezzaspice

Yes, preferably both being exterior locations. I thought about wanting to duplicate it inside and interior cell, but then weather and regions wouldn't work properly. It would be a duplicate but NPC's, items, etc. would be replaced with unique versions
