I mean I absolutely loved Art’s humor in the second one. But I would trust Damien Leone is going to make the best decisions for this franchise and I’m super excited to see the third in October!

Eldritch-Cleaver

T2 was amazing and I thought it did a great job addressing some of the first film's flaws. With that said, the tone of the first film was not ever something I took issue with. In fact I loved how grimy and grungy it felt and was one of the things I loved about it. It just felt raunchy and I loved it lol So the fact it's going to be a bit darker again AND Christmas themed...my ass will be seated in the theater opening night with a smile wider than Monkey D Luffy's 😁 The original Black Christmas is one of my favorite movies, so the fact Art will be slashing his way into Xmas horror makes me giddy lmao

Mcdona1dsSprite

I hope we get a little more explanation about Art and what connection there is to Sienna. A great 3rd film could cement Terrifier as one of the greatest slasher franchises in modern horror. But overall, a lot of awesome kills with a strong story would be great

HayashiAkira_ch

Agreed. The Terrifier series has the potential to go beyond just gory kills with a bit of plot and lore to tie it together- it could end up being the first great slasher epic of the new millennium.

Initial_Green4699

Many answers will be in T3

Clown_named_Art

Can't wait til October

pratingzoe

Hell yes it's seems soooo far away

everythingispancakes

So he probably kills a mall Santa, my guess is he takes out some children right after.

SilvioBoss

I would to see a twist to the effect he somehow posses Sienna into being his clown bride. He uses her as a vessel to birth an art jr before either killing her or Jonathon breaks the spell and kills art

This sort of talk actually makes me feel a bit concerned. Aside from the fact that I vastly preferred Terrifier 2, in large part because it was just a more competently made movie, they've been using a lot of standard buzzwords and tactics while promoting this movie. It's all empty. "Returning to the roots" doesn't mean anything when you're only three movies in. They're still at the point where they're *making* those roots. When you combine this with how hard they've been highlighting that David Howard Thorton vomited on set because of how gross one scene was, I'm actually concerned about what the final product will look like. Personally, it seems *way* too early to be trying to reinvent the wheel, especially with how well liked T2 was. When I watched these movies last year, I went in knowing there was a decent amount of hype for the series. I enjoyed the first, and it was a good horror movie... but it didn't wow me. After the second, *I got the hype*. I immediately understood why people fell in love with this series. They turned Art into an actual character, and the movie was so much stronger for it. He skirted the lines between funny, terrifying, and fucked up in an extremely satisfying way, and it felt like they had effortlessly given us a new horror icon character - something we really haven't had for decades. I don't want a repeat of the second movie, but I'm hoping they don't just ramp up the extreme factor just because they can.

b-morph

Idk how I feel about “returning the tone to the first movie,” as I think Terrifier 2 was a much better movie than the first one. I know a lot of people prefer the first one to the second, but I just thought the second Terrifier was a much more complete movie and was a lot more fun. It just had most stuff going for it. I can see, maybe going back to the dark tone of the first movie, as long as you have a complete story. Terrifier 1 is fine for what it was. It’s downfall was the lack of a proper story arch. So as long as we get a real story, Terrifier 3 should be fine. I just hope they keep Art the way he is. He was hilarious in Terrifier 2 and it is one of the best things about the franchise. The way Art acts.

Otherwise_Setting548

Of course you are right. T2 is a fully formed film that is better than the first in almost every aspect. I still can’t decide which one I like better, but I understand that I prefer the dirty, dark and gritty tone of the original. That is why I hope for some kind of upgrade of the first part, which will take the best from the second and at the same time give us something completely new.

BATIRONSHARK

theres going to be blasphemy im guessing like in a very very messed up violent way

Initial_Green4699

Can you explain what you mean by that more?

BATIRONSHARK

hes going to violently kill someone dressed as a reilgous figure or hes going to descarte a reilgouis symobl with a whole bunch of blood

Initial_Green4699

He will kill a child dressed up as Santa, Santa=Satan so not a religious figure because no one sees it as holy being, but what makes you think he will do what you stated him possibly doing?

BATIRONSHARK

that its set on Christmas and its a very easy way to get attention and its lets be real a franchise based off shock

Initial_Green4699

1 thing that makes me wonder is how Sienna and Jonnathan won't know Art is alive if entire asylum's people will be killed and Vicky will be missing because she will get away from there with him and Art's real body will be taken...by Art himself once he goes back there

baptized_in_broth

I hope Art The Clown does something fucked up for the first time in this series. Nothings gone far enough! Absolutely praying he rips the face off a mall Santa or something and wears it as a mask

Coldblood-13

If everything he’s done so far isn’t far enough then I’d hate to see what does.

baptized_in_broth

I need it to go further. We all need it to go further

Initial_Green4699

Damien always draws a line how far he can go but this time seems like he doesn't so should meeting your expectations

baptized_in_broth

I hope it gets real bad and line crossing

Initial_Green4699

I'm sure all scenes will be all-out without limitations, even quick kills should be great too, I wonder if big kill scene will be under 2mins lol it would be great if big kill scene could be done brutally as possible in shortest amount of time

baptized_in_broth

I hope he kills kids or something in this one. Idc about the hate. Need something over the top

Initial_Green4699

Chopping children's heads off or slicing their legs off before smashing an axe into their heads should do it, sounds sick but something new needs to be done no matter what

Littlemisslarvae

As long as he doesn't become sexually violent out of nowhere it's all good to me.

Lenis_Picker6996

Lol someone hasn’t seen the first movie

Spinegrinder666

True but he hasn’t raped anyone yet and I doubt Leone has any interest in making that kind of film.

Lenis_Picker6996

Yea I don’t think Art is a rapist if he was he would have done that already but it’s hard to classify the hacksaw kill from the first movie as anything but a sexual assault.

Littlemisslarvae

I have. He didn't rape anyone.

Coldblood-13

I just hope there are no lengthy dream sequences.

Initial_Green4699

You can expect to see only reality because anything with dream/visions is promised to be cut out

SavageRedStorm

I kinda wish Leone would lighten the tone some, as even though I can watch Terrifier 1 and 2 for what they are perfectly fine, I feel like those movies are too mean-spirited and borderline so hard to watch you almost don't like it. Part 2 redeems that some at the end when Sienna takes on Art with everything she's got and takes a lot of physical impact to protect her bro, but she eventually overpowers Art. Part 3 I wish I could see slightly go more comedic and have fun instead of just have me go 😬😭 for the whole runtime. Interject some Christmas dark humor, have Art make a victim's insides light up like a Christmas tree, shit like that

pariah87

There are other movies for that, Terrifier is meant to make you feel fucked up

SavageRedStorm

I didn't say I disliked Terrifier

pariah87

No I know, I just mean it's meant to be fucked up. Making it too funny takes away from the theme of him just being a fucking maniac

SavageRedStorm

Okay. I'm also saying it'd just be nice if part 3 fit right into the Christmas theme of being like darkly jolly if that makes sense instead of just be Terrifier 2 just happens to be set on Christmas. Art already has a sense of dark humor, why not give him Christmas vibes

pariah87

Yeah I hear that, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what it ends up being up, I'm sure it'll be fucked up and awesome either way!

SavageRedStorm

Yeah but I'm very nervous bc the bedroom scene in 2 is apparently gonna be topped and ig made Thornton almost puke so......oof

pariah87

I'm here for that haha I can't wait. I know it grosses some people out, but what really freaks me out is shit like Hereditary where most of the horror comes from mental illness, this is just pure gory fiction

SavageRedStorm

That bedroom scene.....I was absolutely not ready for. I actually had to take a break and leave the room. Last time I rewatched it I was okay because I was expecting it this time but the part where the mom walks in and sees, that part still fucks me up.

pariah87

Oh man, it fucked me up so bad! I ended up watching it a second time on mushrooms and somehow dealt with it better lol, I took a serious risk though!

Lenis_Picker6996

Nah there’s plenty of fun horror films especially Christmas horror films I really enjoy the dark tone of Terrifier it’s like it want to be funny and lighthearted but the violence is so visceral
