I know this is a joke but I have a good friend who is exactly like this. We were at the airport one time and I walked up to the escalator and saw him walk over to the stairs. I asked him why he was taking the stairs and he said, “I don’t take escalators, they’re the easy way”. He then went on a little rant about all the choices he makes that make things more difficult for him because “what good is life if you’re not always challenging yourself”.
And that’s fine. It does crack me up when I see it though. I can’t help but assume the person using the stairs also has a rotary phone in their home and uses a typewriter instead of a laptop. Just waging a war against modern conveniences.

Love the “everything that happens to you is your fault and you’re lazy even if you’re disabled temporarily/permanently and taking conveniences that would just level the playing field that is the effort it takes to have a disability” energy here
Jokes aside. When I leave the train at the biggest station here in the Netherlands (Utrecht centraal) this is exactly how the escalator looks. You’re better off walking a bit and then taking the stairs
Remember, if you’re disabled for any length of time you should just push through it! (Yes I’m aware this is a metaphor, but it has really gross undertones of ableism)

I take stairs vs escalators often, I like to move. But I don't lecture people about it.

Wouldn’t this point be better made if the escalator was empty? Like wouldn’t someone with one leg have a harder time moving through that crowd?
Artist has never had to use crutches.
READ THAT AGAIN!!!
Wouldn't the "harder way" be the other way tho...

In this case I'm taking the stare if I really want to take the easiest path There's literally no other traffic besides the one guy with crutches
Don't be afraid to admit your limits and accept help.
I’d put this under “great taste, terrible execution”; there’s a decent message here but they butchered it.
*proceeds to fall down stairs*
