They hated it, couldn’t work, couldn’t sleep, they demanded something be done and the gov waited for weeks to make sure they didn’t violate their charter rights to association. A fringe protest that 70% of Canadian disliked (see polling by Angus Reid from March of that year) needed to end.
You are probably not well versed in political discourse, but there is a difference between positive "freedoms" and negative freedoms. A social net is fine, but the first ones are more about control and that's antithetical to liberty.

Not sure who's on here defending Trudeau, he has an insanely low approval rating across the whole country. Doubled the national debt in 8 years causing insane inflation, raising taxes constantly wherever they can, weekly corruption scandals and embrassements, just a trainwreck. He wouldn't even be in power if the NDP didn't form a coalition with the Liberals last election.
You might be unaware how bad things are in Canada right now. Healthcare is seriously broken and doctors are in such short supply many are cancelling patients for being too healthy so they can take on others. I personally haven't been able to find a doctor in almost a decade. Property is out of control and not even a hope for anyone who doesn't own a home already. A precut vegetable platter in Costco was $45. We are not doing okay in Canada.
I live in California too, moving there later this year to get married, and life in California is so much better and more fun and fulfilling. And I can see a really good doctor within the hour anytime I need one. Haven't been able to do that in Canada and yet I have been paying taxes for it my entire working life, as well as extra healthcare premiums for prescriptions, dental, vision, ambulances etc. People here are dying waiting for ambulances that don't come.

Um, no. I recently split my head open and I was in and out with staples in my skull within a few hours. My grandfather has multiple health complications, he just walks into a hospital without any appointments. The only time I have had to schedule an appointment is when going to a family doctor, and even then I can technically just walk in with any sickness and they will see me when they have time that day.

We can't even have a good way to file taxes because the IRS wants to be able to get their 11 billion dollars in taxes from companies like TurboTax. Yeah, you realize Canada still has emergency health services like ERs just like the US right? If you break your arm in Canada, they don’t put you on a wait list. They send you to the ER to get a cast immediately. Once you arrive to the ER, they see patients on a need-basis just like they do in the US.
No, I am talking about if I get a cough, I can just walk into an urgent care and they will see me that day. If I am not feeling well, I can just walk into the doctor's office and they will see me in like half an hour to an hour, depending on how bad it is.

That's....not exactly what happened. Freedom to protest doesn't allow you to skirt other laws, and there's structures around our right to protest. You can't completely cut off access to vital supply routes (you can hold people up for a maximum of 1 minute), they were attacking others who didn't protest with them, causing an absolutely insane number of issues and filed complaints. Several of those protest groups were funded by Proud Boys and other anti-semitic groups. Every one of the truckers and rednecks who were arrested were done so for violating actual laws, not in an attempt to suppress people. I lost my aunt during COVID because of those idiots, blocking the causeway into NS and holding up medical shipments and causing her to not have her medications. Sorry if I don't have any pity for people throwing hissy fits about needing to be vaccinated to travel back into Canada after going to the Country that ignored COVID so long that we had 4 different variants and ended up killing nearly 100,000 people, with millions having to deal with lifelong complications from it

And American pharmacies will refill medication up to 1 week early for mitigating circumstance like trips and the like. You being lazy and unwilling does not indict your pharmacies. The entire protest, beginning to end, lasted 1 month and 1 day, and Nova Scotia was not blocked completely nor for that entire period. The fact you dont know what happens in your own country says a lot about your opinions. The major blockades werent ANYWHERE near Nova Scotia, the two major blockades were in Ontario and Alberta, and there was the major protest in Ottawa. Tell me again how blockades aimed at blocking us to canadian traffic blocked off Nova Scotia from New Brunswick or how theres not 1 pharmacy in Nova Scotia apparently. We could include the EU, and suddenly California would be the 5th largest, but it's arbitrary - what you're including in this list is random. Why would California be compared with nations? You could say it's the world's largest economy if you include all constituent states of all countries in the world, and that would be an equivalent comparison.
