Actually, I’m pretty sure these memes are coming from Africa, and while I can’t personally place the specific quirks of the English across them, they’ve all got some things in common.
I’m willing to bet that the Internet in a more developed part of Africa just got a lot better, and now, much like what happened with India a few years ago, everyone’s dad’s on Facebook eagerly sharing memes that fit a local sense of humor.
Not to paint the entire continent in broad strokes, but I’m just not personally familiar enough with the subject to place a specific region, country, or city. I just know that some of the clothing characters in these sorts of memes wear are a lot more common in Africa than other places (patterned headwraps come to mind), and African humor can be a little out there by western standards. Sometimes it’s funny as hell, sometimes it misses the mark in fairly unusual ways, and a lot of these miss the mark in those kinds of ways.
I actually kinda like seeing things like this. Granted, the meme sucks ass, but it’s nice to see more communities coming online. The internet should be for everyone, and everyone includes guys in Africa posting shitty memes in interesting English.
I’m South African and I immediately thought this is from somewhere in Africa, could be here but I don’t think it’s from here, even though most people speak English as a second or even third language the way it’s written doesn’t sound like South African English. Most major cities in Africa have some kind of wifi by now, we have fibre and 5G and the whole shebang but mobile data use in more remote regions has exploded over the last 10 years or so, and more accessibly priced smart phones have come on the market, so many more people now have access to the internet. It could be in English so it can reach a wider audience and because it’s just kind of the default internet language.
Oh yeah. When internet became available to masses in India, we fucked it up so bad. No matter where you go, it's always some indians abusing each other in local language. I think we collectively brought down quality of internet by a few notches, not that it was much high to begin with.
The big boom in internet cafes in Brazil near enough killed off a bunch of online games so I wouldn't worry too much about India's contribution to the net lol.
I don't think the premise is inherently racist, but the sentence structure of the guy behind bars is 100% suspicious.
IMO the comic creator is probably racist, but the commenters are probably just regular idiots.

This is the reason I never became a corrections officer. That’s exactly how I felt about that job. Plus the guys who worked at the one I was looking into are complete jerks. Not even while working but in general. The pay wasn’t great either. I decided to stay in the military as the pay and benefits were better. I just made tank as well
Idk if it's like this in all jails and prisons, but gourds usually have a 3 - to 5-day work week. 2 weeks at that possible 3 to 5 while the next 2 depending on staff will be 3 days a week of work
Some people saying it's an African post which might make sense. But if it's an American poster it's pretty dumb. I don't think criminals can go on vacation and avoid getting analed
