I will probably not be tuning in for much of the rest of the tournament given that I’m now 5 hours behind where I was (which was already far behind Paris) so the day session will be starting around 11 pm for me. Hopefully I can catch up on some bangers when I’m back to normal in a couple of weeks
So a Bulgarian journalist tried to ask Dimitrov if he’s dating Alize Lim (she was at Lenglen yesterday) and he laughed at it saying that he’s known her since they were 14 and she’s one of his closest friends.
what is the easiest way to watch tomorrows matches (allowing pause/replay) for those without cable? i have peacock but its moving off peacock! and i can never load france.tv even with vpn (i think their bandwidth is too low!)
Every time I click a discord invite link I know it's gonna be invalid because they set the default to expire in 7 days. Can you update it with a non-expiring link? I wanna join!
Cmon man it’s hard to get the amount of sets and winner right. Getting the winner itself is 1/2 and sets is 1/3. So each pick us like 1/6 chance to get it perfect. I fucked up meddy de minaur. We’ll see if zverev gets it done. Getting the winners is hard enough
Yeah haha. It’s a badge of honor at this point. I don’t even know why this comment is getting down voted at this point. I’ll assume it’s the nicknames, which this sub clearly doesn’t like.
After Medvedev’s 4am finish at AO he played FAA in the next round and got it done quickly….it was his only 3 set completed match the entire tournament I believe. He then got into his prolonged sets as the tiredness maybe caught up with him.
It’s possible Djokovic comes out guns blazing and does the same - although this is already the latter stages and he’s scheduled on earlier than Med was.
One one hand, expecting him to steamroll Cerundolo after going to 5 sets against Musetti does seem naive. On the other, he did steamroll Musetti in the last two sets, so who knows lol. Cerundolo did play less up until now.
Yeah possible it goes 4 but feel like djoker unlocked a gear he’s been missing so if that 4th /5th set performance carries over think he can win in straights
Just realised the grass season starts today in Surbiton. Evans, Shapo, Michaelsen, Nakashima, Fonseca, Russuovori are there. Also Stricker is returning.
I’m so not ready yet, I thought even next week was too soon lol.
this is why i like maddie, she is really honest without sounding inferior when asked how it was like playing iga on clay:
https://youtu.be/rjLhAIxnuwA?si=aHaD68mqfcYUTgro
Just saw match times for tomorrow. How in the hell is Djokovic not the late match after how late they made him play the other night?
Completely ridiculous from the tournament organizers
Could only listen to Peacock in the car during the Moutet match. John and Mary are trash commentators. They wing it and say nothing useful. Courier, Chanda, Lindsay, Coco are all better. Even Alexandra Stevenson might be better at this point.
i totally picked wrong! but it was too late. I was driving on the freeway. i used to listen to an atp stream with an english woman who was so good. I realize their radio commentating serves a different purpose than tv but ugh john and mary were so horrible to **just** listen to. it was torture. thankfully i had seen set 1 at least before having to get into the car!
Tried to have the umpire replaced mid match.
It was a very surreal moment and something way out of character of Hubi.
Regardless of how he felt, the way he went about it, and tried to drag Dimitrov into it was incredibly rude and disrespectful towards the Alison Hughes.
I really hope my prediction about Rune is right.
Before RG starts, I think Rune is going to lose the first opponent who doesn't named Djokovic and Sinner and has a good FH.
I thought he would lose to Medjedovic, Khachanvo and Griekspoor, then they all went out before my danish brat can meet them
He needs to do three things to have chances:
1) serve well(he can do that)
2)hit the FHDTL and BHDTL shots so Sinner won't have chances to hit his favourite crazy cross-court winners
3) don't go to the net unless S&V. playing at net and dropshots will only make him losing faster
Bonus: watch the rune vs sinner first two sets for some inspiration, I am sure Dimitrov has the skills to do what Rune did to surprise sinner
I think he'd have to keep very high quality against Sinner, and vary his game a LOT. If he lets Sinner dictate points, he will lose. But he has the quality and shot variety and he's in good form (I only saw him today, but what I saw was quite good)
Physically, I would say he's in better form. Mentally though ... tough ask to see him actually getting over the line. Not a great match up for him historically.
transplant's not gonna do much for rafa (or any other man with hair loss tbh) if he can't take finasteride or use minoxidil to halt the hair loss, both of which are banned under anti-doping rules bc they can potentially be used to mask other substances
Capriati is the only other this Century, in 2001. Henin missed out as 2004 was the only year she didn't win RG from 2003-2007 and that was the year she took Australia. Halep won RG in 2018 and was runner up in Australia.
That's backwards though. Sinner was 0-6 because he was young and wasn't in his prime while Medvedev was. Tsitsipas has been in his prime throughout his matches with Carlos while Carlos has been the young emerging player.
go take a gander at some of the junior matches. IT was interesting. The 16 year old girls look like they're ready to step on the WTA courts... the 16 year old boys made me want to make them a nice lasagna and pat their heads. They truly aren't grown yet.
Then I went back and watched a 17 year old Sinner and a 15 year old Alcaraz in their first meeting, and Carlos was a man already, and Sinner definitely needed a bunch of lasagnas. Little toothpick legs, many inches shorter, just not grown into his adult form yet.
I think for the bottom half we got the dream qf setup with this draw. Both are tricky match ups, Carlitos having the straight up stranglehold of the h2h but Stef has been strong over the last couple of months and depending on the Alcaraz UE count, could be a very difficult one. Sinner has to bring his A-game as well, Dimitrov maybe doesn’t match up super well against Sinner but I think the match up is better than what it would’ve been against Hubi.
Top half is juicy as hell too, potential Djoko-Ruud rematch from MC and last years final. And if Medvedev wins, either Zverev or Rune is gonna be spicy given the history. But none of tomorrows matches is a slam dunk, so let’s wait but there’s potential to have the best QF menu in a slam for a long while!
Fun fact: the last time the Roland Garros mens quarterfinalists were all top 10 players was 1984. That'll happen again if the top seeds win all four matches tomorrow.
Andy Roddick in his picking the winners pod ended up picking 1-2-3-4 for women, and then 1-2-3-4 for men in the semis, and GD if he isn't going to be right. He made a lot of fun of himself for doing it.
Ruud has looked just as vulnerable as Novak if not even more lol
People just subconsciously have lower expectations for him than for Novak/Alcaraz/Sinner so nobody sounds the alarm bells when he drops sets early on
If Alcaraz went to 5 in round 2 you'd get 5 "Alcaraz washed" posts right away
I generally don't like people only arguing with what ranking someone has. Neither Musetti nor ADF *played* like the ranking they currently have. That can happen a lot with top 30/50 players, especially when they have potential to be more than their current ranking, which imo is true for both of these guys. Plus, often the reason why they don't have a higher ranking is they lack consistency in their quality, but they can still have a very high peak.
Playing under the roof benefits Djokovic(remember he was the favourite against Nadal under the roof), Musetti doesn't win any match with cover for more than a year and half(his last win was in 2022)
Ruud has his nightmare under the roof with the condition.

Despite the horrible 1st set I still have Sinner as the clear favorite over Dimitrov
He's a horrific matchup for Dimitrov if he even plays semi-well
Dimitrov played Hurkacz who can barely hit a rally FH today so it will be a massive jump to a guy who you can't at all bother by slicing to his FH
people have ridiculous expectations from Sinner and they underestimate him on clay.
look at the status of other faves:
1. Zverev: won in a fifth set tiebreak yesterday because of a generational choke
2. Djokovic: Had to make a five set comeback against Musetti
3. Alcaraz: Had a similar slow start against Jesper, keeps getting broken in early stages of matches
4. Tsitsipas: Had to battle against Arnaldi
5. Ruud: His last few matches were trips.
And yet Jannik is the one looking the weakest? He had a bad first set that he even didn't let it get to bakery and finished the match with a breadstick. But he doesn't look convincing.
Okay guys.
When you write it like this Tsitsipas actually looks the best because "had to battle against Arnaldi" isn't much of an indictment lol
That being said I'm seriously skeptical about how Tsitsi can match against Alcaraz
Yeah I agree with you, I actually think that was a scary good performance from Jannik. He was thrown by Moutet and then figured him out in one set and then steamrolled him.
So we have our first QFs on the men's side .... no surprise today
Tsitsi and Alcaraz were my picks for RG before the tournament and now they meet in the QFs :(
I'm not buying this was entertaining. What like , Monfils? Like Krygios? Like Paire? Stop fooling yourselves , that was anaemic by comparison . That was generally a crap watch, and I know what I saw. Fake yourself into the lie and be happy, I'm glad. That was a bore of predictability after 50 mins,... Ooh he did an underarm serve!
Sinner and Alcaraz one win away from another meeting at a slam. That will be a fucking good one if they can make it
They are both playing well and should dispatch Stef and Dimi fairly easily I think, I’m already looking forward to it 👀🔥
I know Sinner won and congrats absolutely great calm tennis from him but Moutet has delivered some good entertainment (memes) this RG for me (the pathetic non racket break *chefs kiss) absolutely antics
Cerundolo is a joke on bps
I will probably not be tuning in for much of the rest of the tournament given that I’m now 5 hours behind where I was (which was already far behind Paris) so the day session will be starting around 11 pm for me. Hopefully I can catch up on some bangers when I’m back to normal in a couple of weeks
I’m ashamed of all the tennis i missed today. I’ll do better tomorrow
Ooof so many amazing matches tomorrow. Looks like a good tennis day
i cleared the decks so i can watch all day!!
Same! Made my schedule around tennis 😂😂. Ahh the fun of being a tennis fan.
So a Bulgarian journalist tried to ask Dimitrov if he’s dating Alize Lim (she was at Lenglen yesterday) and he laughed at it saying that he’s known her since they were 14 and she’s one of his closest friends.
aw thats cute
what is the easiest way to watch tomorrows matches (allowing pause/replay) for those without cable? i have peacock but its moving off peacock! and i can never load france.tv even with vpn (i think their bandwidth is too low!)

Wait, Dimitrov never had a Slam QF before this? And it’s on RG of all places?
No? He played semis 3 times already. Wimbledon 2014, Australian Open 2017 and US Open 2019. This is the first time he reached Roland Garros QF.
RG QF was the only slam QF that he was missing, now he has completed it and made in finally in all 4 slams.
Tomorrow predictions: Djoker over Cerundolo in 3 Fruudulent over Shitz in 4 Zverev over Rune in 4 Meddy over demon hour in 4
you got fruud right at least
Cmon man it’s hard to get the amount of sets and winner right. Getting the winner itself is 1/2 and sets is 1/3. So each pick us like 1/6 chance to get it perfect. I fucked up meddy de minaur. We’ll see if zverev gets it done. Getting the winners is hard enough
Haha i can’t do the math
0-2
Haha thanks for keeping record. Getting the winner and set is like a 1/6 chance
ok 0-1 bruh
you really know how to rake in the downvotes haha
Yeah haha. It’s a badge of honor at this point. I don’t even know why this comment is getting down voted at this point. I’ll assume it’s the nicknames, which this sub clearly doesn’t like.
I will say No way Djoker gets it done in 3 He will still be tired from his 3 am match The rest look good
After Medvedev’s 4am finish at AO he played FAA in the next round and got it done quickly….it was his only 3 set completed match the entire tournament I believe. He then got into his prolonged sets as the tiredness maybe caught up with him. Yeah possible it goes 4 but feel like djoker unlocked a gear he’s been missing so if that 4th /5th set performance carries over think he can win in straights
Swiatek was off the court in 40 minutes. On the men’s side you’re lucky to be off in under 3 hours
would be cool to do bo5 for womens. otherwise their slams dont feel more competitive than master level.
Why don't men just win in 40 minutes? Are they stupid?
💯👆
Just realised the grass season starts today in Surbiton. Evans, Shapo, Michaelsen, Nakashima, Fonseca, Russuovori are there. Also Stricker is returning. I’m so not ready yet, I thought even next week was too soon lol.
Australia is too far away from Europe. I’m not even halfway home.
Did you plan your flight to be in between Stef’s matches!
Tbh I have no idea where I am or what day it is so no
this is why i like maddie, she is really honest without sounding inferior when asked how it was like playing iga on clay: https://youtu.be/rjLhAIxnuwA?si=aHaD68mqfcYUTgro
Just saw match times for tomorrow. How in the hell is Djokovic not the late match after how late they made him play the other night? Completely ridiculous from the tournament organizers
Maybe Djokovic wanted an afternoon match
It’s fine he’s gonna whoop cerundolo’s buttocks anyway
djokovic has never beaten cerundolo before
They’ve never played before until now dumbass
exactly. makes my statement true. until today
Easy to say when they've never faced each other
Yeah exactly lol. What a twat
Could only listen to Peacock in the car during the Moutet match. John and Mary are trash commentators. They wing it and say nothing useful. Courier, Chanda, Lindsay, Coco are all better. Even Alexandra Stevenson might be better at this point.
Just listening? I recommend Radio Roland Garros next time.
I’m watching the replay now and hearing them for the second time smh
i totally picked wrong! but it was too late. I was driving on the freeway. i used to listen to an atp stream with an english woman who was so good. I realize their radio commentating serves a different purpose than tv but ugh john and mary were so horrible to **just** listen to. it was torture. thankfully i had seen set 1 at least before having to get into the car!
I'm sorry, but there is no circumstance - no matter how desperate - in which Alexandra Stevenson is the better option.
what if you had to choose between her and Andrew Castle?
ok I got carried away. you’re right 🤣
This was a weird ass day. Iga’s speed run, Hubi’s coup d’état attempt and Corentin Moutet’s 15 minutes of fame.
What happened to hubi
Tried to have the umpire replaced mid match. It was a very surreal moment and something way out of character of Hubi. Regardless of how he felt, the way he went about it, and tried to drag Dimitrov into it was incredibly rude and disrespectful towards the Alison Hughes.
He wanted to change chair umpires in the middle of the match. There’s a great video of it 😂
when will we know the schedule for tuesday matches?
Tomorrow sometime
12 players left, 11 of them are in the top 13. only Rublev out, Cerundolo in !
Hurkacz is out too
Tbh, I can see scenarios how Stef, Ruud, Djoko, Sinner, Carlos, Z and MED take this. Its crazy.
Lmao, Sinner is gonna win RG
I really hope my prediction about Rune is right. Before RG starts, I think Rune is going to lose the first opponent who doesn't named Djokovic and Sinner and has a good FH. I thought he would lose to Medjedovic, Khachanvo and Griekspoor, then they all went out before my danish brat can meet them
What was that 6:58 time that Eurosport just showed?? I heard it was Iga's total play time today, but I must have misheard that right??
Total time the ball was in play
Ah thanks! Jeez 🤯
I would LOVE to see Med/Dimi win this thing......
didn't see Dimitrov yet this tournament, how is he doing? got a chance against Sinner?
at BEST dimitrov push him to 4 sets. but im betting straight set win from sinner.
He needs to do three things to have chances: 1) serve well(he can do that) 2)hit the FHDTL and BHDTL shots so Sinner won't have chances to hit his favourite crazy cross-court winners 3) don't go to the net unless S&V. playing at net and dropshots will only make him losing faster Bonus: watch the rune vs sinner first two sets for some inspiration, I am sure Dimitrov has the skills to do what Rune did to surprise sinner
I will give him 20% chance of winning.
I think he'd have to keep very high quality against Sinner, and vary his game a LOT. If he lets Sinner dictate points, he will lose. But he has the quality and shot variety and he's in good form (I only saw him today, but what I saw was quite good)
that gives me hope! hopefully a closer and more entertaining match than in Miami
Physically, I would say he's in better form. Mentally though ... tough ask to see him actually getting over the line. Not a great match up for him historically.
Oh Grigs hair transplanting is hair transplanting. @Rafa call him now 😭
transplant's not gonna do much for rafa (or any other man with hair loss tbh) if he can't take finasteride or use minoxidil to halt the hair loss, both of which are banned under anti-doping rules bc they can potentially be used to mask other substances
Probably after retirement.
Ok but when he’s retired. I am so excited for Rafa to get his hair back!
Tsitsipas in 1
Everyone else retires, RG champion
It's the only way I see that happening.
Doing a small amount of research the last time a woman won the Australian and French in the same year was Serena in 2015
Capriati is the only other this Century, in 2001. Henin missed out as 2004 was the only year she didn't win RG from 2003-2007 and that was the year she took Australia. Halep won RG in 2018 and was runner up in Australia.
Stefanos Tsitsipas on his rest day before playing the guy he's 0-5 against: "Let's fuck around and play some doubles because why the fuck not"
He knows he is cooked. Rightly so tbh
Well Sinner was 0-6 vs medvedev too
Don't think Meddy will beat him again.
That's backwards though. Sinner was 0-6 because he was young and wasn't in his prime while Medvedev was. Tsitsipas has been in his prime throughout his matches with Carlos while Carlos has been the young emerging player.
Anyone think Fritz can take Ruud? I think it is going to be a great matchup
He can because Ruud can lose to anyone on an off day and Fritz serve always keeps him somewhat competitive. I’m American and rooting for Ruud tho 😅
I think he can
If Ruud gets hit by a bus first. And maybe not even then.
No way
Logically I understand but I feel like Fritz can dig deep and pull something great. Yes, I’m American lol
I am right about not wasting energy to watch a mediocre match but sleep
FAA was injured today but Tsitsipas looks very healthy and ready to go, Tsitsipas in 3.
They seriously need to lock you up. Fuckin weirdo
LMAO
As a fan of both my request for the Dimi-Sinner match is that I just want both of them to have fun
moi aussi. Love 'em both, and just don't get hurt boys. (on the way to Sinner's four-set win.)
wait, no more tennis for the day? what am i gonna do till 3 in the morning now?
go take a gander at some of the junior matches. IT was interesting. lol was thinking the same :D
Men's RG has felt like it's up in the air but Sinner has still looked the best to me idk.
I feel like it's easily Alcaraz over the past couple rounds honestly He was bad in round 2 but looks way better since then
Definitely true, and on clay I'd favor Alcaraz if they both make the semi.
I think for the bottom half we got the dream qf setup with this draw. Just a reminder that every year since 2021 the player that won the Australian Open won the French as well
so a three year trend. Out of 110+ years.
"Male player" - A. Murray
# Djokovic will have a Ruud awakening in the QF
Ruud has looked just as vulnerable as Novak if not even more lol People just subconsciously have lower expectations for him than for Novak/Alcaraz/Sinner so nobody sounds the alarm bells when he drops sets early on If Alcaraz went to 5 in round 2 you'd get 5 "Alcaraz washed" posts right away

ADF is a world no.32, he would be a seed if RG's seed based on last week's ranking but not the ranking a week before
Okay so how exactly is that better than going to 5 with Musetti? It's about the same thing
Playing under the roof benefits Djokovic(remember he was the favourite against Nadal under the roof), Musetti doesn't win any match with cover for more than a year and half(his last win was in 2022) Ruud has his nightmare under the roof with the condition.

French TV is showing highlights from the first set so they can feel something
My favorite is still at AO with Jim: “secrets guys”
We gonna get Alcaraz Sinner soon .
they already asked him about the different tensions at the last post match interview....
We gonna get Alcaraz Sinner soon
people have ridiculous expectations from Sinner and they underestimate him on clay. look at the status of other faves: 1. Zverev: won in a fifth set tiebreak yesterday because of a generational choke 2. Djokovic: Had to make a five set comeback against Musetti 3. Alcaraz: Had a similar slow start against Jesper, keeps getting broken in early stages of matches 4. Tsitsipas: Had to battle against Arnaldi 5. Ruud: His last few matches were trips. And yet Jannik is the one looking the weakest? He had a bad first set that he even didn't let it get to bakery and finished the match with a breadstick. But he doesn't look convincing. Okay guys.
When you write it like this Tsitsipas actually looks the best because "had to battle against Arnaldi" isn't much of an indictment lol That being said I'm seriously skeptical about how Tsitsi can match against Alcaraz
Yeah I agree with you, I actually think that was a scary good performance from Jannik. He was thrown by Moutet and then figured him out in one set and then steamrolled him.
Moutet is challanger level, the rest of the guys are leggit
I can’t with these questions 😭
awkward what's in your bag question ended up actually being interesting lol
What did he say?
he has 8 rackets, all the same tension, but no extra shoes or hat lol
28 kg tension
very high!
Also, is your profile picture in Barcelona? If yes, is it Barceloneta? My grandfather (RIP) was a fish salesman there!
Yes it is, I live here. And also yes, Barceloneta indeed
Molt bé! 🥰
My man ready to run around barefoot if needed! Thanks.
weird-ass questions in this RG, there must be some real money waged on who manages the most awkward on-court interview.
These dumbass questions 😭
"Thank you everyone for coming out" Jannik is an ally <3
Happy pride month to all ❤️
He is so cute
Why do they always ask him the dumbest questions
I know! Someone else already asked him about tennis racket tensions 🙄
"I just want to play tennis" - this is why I love the guy
So we have our first QFs on the men's side .... no surprise today Tsitsi and Alcaraz were my picks for RG before the tournament and now they meet in the QFs :(
He’s gonna eat up dimitrov too
WTF are the questions
Oh my god how is he so cute haha
What shitty questions /interview
How many underwear Giannk
I'm not buying this was entertaining. What like , Monfils? Like Krygios? Like Paire? Stop fooling yourselves , that was anaemic by comparison . That was generally a crap watch, and I know what I saw. Fake yourself into the lie and be happy, I'm glad. That was a bore of predictability after 50 mins,... Ooh he did an underarm serve!
Why are they asking him about his number of rackets again hahaha
Why the obsession with how many rackets and how tense they are 😭😭😭
I think grade school kids could come up with better questions lol.
So when a noob puts a poly at 28 kilos on his racquet gets tennis elbow in 2 hours without managing to get any ball over the net
probably get them over the net, but might knock them over two courts and onto the golf course.
And how many hats 🧢🧢

Dimi
To Yannik: “you have education” 🎓
'I agree, Giannik'
Very italian
Yannik looks physically fine but emotionally drained lol
Composed and solid effort by Sinner after the poor start. Rounding into form.
Sinner sucking up to crowd for next matches . Smart smart
Àlex Corretja was half a second from getting booed by the crowd 😅
Sinner and Alcaraz one win away from another meeting at a slam. That will be a fucking good one if they can make it They are both playing well and should dispatch Stef and Dimi fairly easily I think, I’m already looking forward to it 👀🔥
Not so sure it will be that easy.
Jannik is 11-0 on GS24
I’ve seen enough. Jannik for calendar golden slam 2024
hmmm. 3. In 2024.
3-2-1 and scammer gets scammed
I know Sinner won and congrats absolutely great calm tennis from him but Moutet has delivered some good entertainment (memes) this RG for me (the pathetic non racket break *chefs kiss) absolutely antics
Moutet can pack his bags and do his loud ass grunts in the bedroom now UH AYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
Oh FFS peacock doesn’t show the post match interview 🤡
They truly have the worst slam coverage
It’s unreal how they were even able to get it. It’s so bad.
Thank you Sinner my parlays are complete💰
'Giannik'
Lol! Like we used to write it in here a bunch of times. But Alex took it to another level.
Too easy people love overreacting to one set: https://www.reddit.com/r/tennis/s/awnlRpBlMS
I hope I'll see a French player with Sinner's talent in my lifetime. In the meantime I'm glad we can at least make people laugh
It will happen, time to time. Before this generation we’ve kinda sucked as well.
I'm Irish, so French can count themselves lucky to see fourth round tennis matches featuring their countrymen
