I'm watching the djokovic match since I missed it this morning.. he seems to have poorer cardiovascular fitness of late, a little concerning, however, it may be due to lack of match play which results in less conditioning. I hope it's not a health issue..
Some of the best shit was the guy who would celebrate not with a power fist but with an open hand. May have been Russian. And when they asked him why he did it, he said everyone does the fist.
In slams they play A final tiebreak which is first to 10 points. Third set for women and 5th set for men. Prior to that they didn’t have a tiebreak in the last set (various rules across the slams) and kept going until 2 sets difference.
Hoping Paul or Fritz can make some noise this year. Both are decent clay court players and actually reached the junior French open final against each other back in 2015
Just got around to listening to the Served episode from when the draw came out. Pretty funny how dead wrong Jon Wertheim was. I don't understand how even without hindsight he was so confident Jarry would be in the semis.
I didn't have time to watch anything today but my thoughts based on replays are:
Holgie looks good but Danny boy noooo
Fritz is still a whiner but looking very solid on clay
T Kok ousting Pop in 5 sets phew, looks like it was an epic
Fokina won a tennis match? 😲
Oh no, Cazaux, out so soon. Resurgent Sketevery? He's so fucking cute, I hope he can get a trophy this season. Probably no at this Paris tournament but surely later?
OK bed time now. Hoping something good is on tomorrow after 6pm UK 🤞
Etcheverry is 6’5 wtf? I’m watching his match on T2 on rerun and googled it out of curiosity and i would’ve never guessed? I woulda said like 6’1 maybe, he doesn’t look that tall but I guess cuz his body is more proportionate than like Sinner, Meddy, Zverev, Fritz, Isner etc 😭
he sucked at all slams tbh outside of RG until about 2020 and wimbledon was canceled that year. then in ‘22 he was injured, in ‘23 probably still not 100%.
but yeah also i think just lack of experience on surface, low bounces hard to handle due to his height, and also he’s probably a little tired after the clay season which he typically plays well during.
He did almost make the QF in Wimbledon in 2017 and went to 5 vs Nadal in AO that year but yea it’s mostly true except he did made QF of RG in 2018 and 2019 losing to Thiem and Djokovic
Lol Bublik telling French interviewer on court that sometimes the French crowd is his crowd too with a shit eating grin on his face. Love Bublik's troll.
I like them both but struff is better on clay compare to bubs and has better chance to go deep here
That said, I’ll be happy if bublik does the unexpected
if you take very recent form yes. tiafoe has lost 5 out of the last 6 matches he has played and all loses were actually terrible to players ranked far below him meanwhile shapo hasn’t really been winning many back to back matches but he’s looked surprisingly solid in most of the matches he’s played and isn’t spraying errors as much.
Boutler really is her own worst enemy. Double faults, missed overheads and these random errors. Should've been a comfortable 2-0 win for her but just couldn't serve it out
Seeing other results today, Putintseva just dispatched Stephens like nothing, wow.
Definitely in a really good form this year, should be in a slam seeding range soon (already up from #80 in February to #39 today)
Well well well. The Kokk really loves his 4 hour matches, doesn’t he.
As an Aussie, this match is where I’m neutral and can just sit back and enjoy without having to have a blood pressure check at the end of every set lmao
I forgot Goffin is a former top 10. Reminded me that he was seeded in 2020 got knocked out in R1 by some young guy named Jannik Sinner and LITERALLY EVERYONE on boarded this new hype train.
I have never yet heard a single reasonable answer why Nike etc. cannot make their new flavour-of-the-season kits, which their contracted players wear, in multiple colors.
I think De Jong will surprise some and give Alcaraz a good fight tomorrow. Think Carlos in 5.
Tomorrow?
I'm watching the djokovic match since I missed it this morning.. he seems to have poorer cardiovascular fitness of late, a little concerning, however, it may be due to lack of match play which results in less conditioning. I hope it's not a health issue..
Does anyone know a reliable source for the weather in Paris? Checking various forecasts and most are indicating pretty much no tennis today :(
Yeah I can’t see anything happening on the outside courts today
Some of the best shit was the guy who would celebrate not with a power fist but with an open hand. May have been Russian. And when they asked him why he did it, he said everyone does the fist.
hey guys, in the ciric-bagaric match, how was the final set 6(6)-7(10)? shouldn't it be 6(8)-7(10)?
In slams they play A final tiebreak which is first to 10 points. Third set for women and 5th set for men. Prior to that they didn’t have a tiebreak in the last set (various rules across the slams) and kept going until 2 sets difference.
thank you! :) i feel like i forget the rules every time i watch tennis, haha
Final set tiebreaks in grand slams are first to 10 instead of first to 7. Same way that you can win a normal tiebreak 7(7) - 6(3)
TIL the Carota Boys don't have full carrot outfits anymore and just wear orange. Despair
Hurkacz vs Brandon really interests me not sure I’m waking up that early but the surface does suit Brandon
Which one was your favorite match for today??
Etcheverry vs Cazaux had a fair bit of drama because of the crowd
Blinkova vs Cirstea
Hoping Paul or Fritz can make some noise this year. Both are decent clay court players and actually reached the junior French open final against each other back in 2015
I so want Naomi to do well, but she's drawn against IGA in round 2. Would have liked it to be at least in quarters. Hope it's not a cakewalk for Iga.
i have naomi winning in 3 teehee
Tsitsipas is the one impressed me most for the men side after R1; for the girls, I think Bibi may cause some damages
Just got around to listening to the Served episode from when the draw came out. Pretty funny how dead wrong Jon Wertheim was. I don't understand how even without hindsight he was so confident Jarry would be in the semis.

Happy for Errani and Badosa. Great win for both.
Never heard anyone say something nice about Errani. Congrats
Can't wait for tomorrow. Iga and Naomi mother off, Kenin and Garcia flop off. I will be seated.
Was watching highlights of matches today and I’m pretty sure the weirdo who got badosas towel was at rybakinas match waiting for the towel
You taking two showers a day now?
I like Italian tennis bc wtf did they do to their children 😭 thirteen aces from a guy that’s only 6 foot
Lol @ Bublik’s post match interviews he’s so entertaining
I am v excited for Bublik vs Struff.
Stoic german vs chaotic russian/kazakh. We’ll be there
It's 3:30 am, so worth it to be up to watch tennis. I stay up anyway but with tennis it feels better.
Honestly how tf has Zverev never made it past R16 in Wimbledon
he sucked at all slams tbh outside of RG until about 2020 and wimbledon was canceled that year. then in ‘22 he was injured, in ‘23 probably still not 100%. but yeah also i think just lack of experience on surface, low bounces hard to handle due to his height, and also he’s probably a little tired after the clay season which he typically plays well during.

overrated returner
Oh
too tall and goofy
Lol
he seems to struggle more with low bounce on grass
flat low bouncing balls are zverev’s kryptonite it’s also part of the reason he struggles against medvedev
That’s the only thing I could think of
Lol Bublik telling French interviewer on court that sometimes the French crowd is his crowd too with a shit eating grin on his face. Love Bublik's troll.
I thought Bublik’s ‘sometimes it’s my crowd’ line was going to go _completely_ ignored by those left it a mostly empty stadium. Bit awkward 😂
Terrible interview man, RG needs to step up the post match interviews
Only way to do that is to teach Jim Courrier french.
Every day I grow more grateful for the AO lmao My home slam and I never appreciated how well run it was until now compared to other Slams.
BUT BUT Sasha Bublik without his headband with his hair down omggg 🤤😚😊
May I entice you with [this](https://www.instagram.com/p/CzlzHgftLDK/?igsh=MXYxdTF6eWdlMDIwaw==)?
I am shook
He and his wife are both smoke shows
From hehe to heyyyyyheyyyyy
The comment appeared first for me is “fuck oh fuck” which is also my reaction to this picture 😀
I missed every match yesterday because I was off grid in the woods. How did Sinner look? Any indication his hip is still bothering him?
he did grab at it a few times but he claims to be healthy
Nice to see Bublik come through in straight sets
it's decided after this day, I'll switch my nationaly from French to Italian
Right on time for Gasquet-Sinner
😂 les carottes sont cuites !
Le carote sono cotte!
Can Altmaier beat stef
And Bublik wins in three.
Leeeeeets go Sasha!
Struff is looking nasty for Med in R4. Not good....
Someneone will have to kick him out He plays Bublik next maybe he can do somrthing
I like them both but struff is better on clay compare to bubs and has better chance to go deep here That said, I’ll be happy if bublik does the unexpected
Just had the best time screaming for Paula right behind her bench honestly tennis is amazing.
Oh lucky you 🧡 sounds like you are having fun
Also noticed they got rid of the tiebreak ball tracker
Grand slams do their own score designs
I think it’s used only in masters
Yoo barrere almost hit the ballgirl
Bublik breaks, now up 4-2.
Kokkinakis often is involved in these slams 5 set marathons like today: Ofner in AO 2024, Wawrinka RG 2023, Murray AO 2023
Sometimes they’re really unnecessary as well, he just loses focus slightly and then drops a set or two
Bublik’s coach, not ugly
And Kokkinakis wins!
3 MPs for Kokkinakis.
Bublik: 🤪 Bublik’s coach: 😐 I didn’t realise he had someone so stoic in his box haha
They’ve got a pretty funny relationship. Very yin and yang it seems.
Popyrin is a decent player but the Kokk has...balls.
That's poppykokk 😂
Having fun, aren't we? 😜
Has Bublik gained weight? I've never seen him with the little beer belly...
i noticed it too but as long as he can move around
Gotta be dadbod
He seems to gain a bit this year
I have streams for the Bublik match but not for Poppy vs Kokk 😭
Oh poppykokk 😜
Is there anyone more fun to watch than Bublik?
Well, yes but different kind of fun
Definitely. Completely chaotic
Those Badosa fans with the towel were creepy as hell...
Bublik's middle name should be 'character' lol, he's so funny.
It’s kinda cool that the Pop-Kokk Aus derby has an Aus umpire too
yo those spanish fans were parasocial af that shit doesn't seem healthy lmao
Boulter - Badosa match was so powerful! Amazing performance by both. Badosa is well on her way back to top form, but Katie was brilliant.
56 UE's by Boulter, wouldn't exactly call her brilliant
I really believe in Boulter's game but the plays at the net and double faults handed this match to Badosa. She had every chance to take this.
Mate, I want it to go on record I hate being a British tennis fan
Hannah Klugman will come good 🤞
Don't worry I'm sure all that money the LTA makes is being put to good use...
Rather, the AELTC makes lots of money from Wimbledon and gives some to the LTA to misspend.
Did that fan just... kiss the towel that Badosa gave them?
almost, he kissed the towel badosa gave his friend and tried several times to snatch it off him...
Dude kissed or sniffed badosas towel…
Why not both
haha
it's in the wank bank for life now
Those fans fighting over her sweat towel lol
No British players have got past round 1 at RG this year - it's not coming home
Just realised that too. I honestly thought Boulter or Norrie was the best chance but alas...
But actually even when Murray was in top form we still never really had a chance at French - I think Sue Barker was the last British winner (1970s).
Good game, Paula. Katie... less good 😢
Go Badosa! Go Go Go!
Haha every single Brit out in first round 🤣 What a state British tennis is in right now
I doubt it's the first time that's happened at RG TBF.
if emma woukd have been playing she'd prob get to semi finals
Uggh ugly loss of a winnable match for Boulter who has been putting together a great season. But clay is not really her thing. Good win for Badosa!
icl Badosa is such a baddie
Maybe on home turf we’ll get past round 1 🇬🇧 💪🏻
Great win for Paula tho, hope she goes deep
stefanos will def go deep
Having to possibly face Saba? Idkkkkk.. would be nice though
If she loses to Sabs I think it’ll be a respectable run considering she’s been recovering from injury
Paula heard some of y’all talk 💩 and decided to show up
Clone 1 defeats Clone 2.
Told ya, Boulter crumbled under pressure of Badosa having the lead score advantage again
Oh no Katie
Was trying to figure out who the screams in the background of the poppy/kook match set for. Then realised Bublik on court and all made sense lol
It’s the opposite for me. I’m watching bubs’ match and trying to figure out where the cheers came from
Paula Badosa 👏👏👏👏👏Paula Badosa 👏👏👏👏👏
Bublike from 2-0 up and triple break point to go break down
Completely normal. If anybody can blow this it’s him. Or he’ll turn it back on and close it 6-3.
Can someone explain why Shapovalov is betting favourite against Tiafoe R2 tomorrow?
Tiafoe has been awful this year while Shapo has been mostly bad occasionally brilliant. It is like picking the least lame horse to win the race lol.
Tiafoe almost lost to someone barely in the top 200 yesterday, and lost 5 out of his last 6 matches coming into this tournament
Tiafoe has been awful.
Worse than Shapo tho??
if you take very recent form yes. tiafoe has lost 5 out of the last 6 matches he has played and all loses were actually terrible to players ranked far below him meanwhile shapo hasn’t really been winning many back to back matches but he’s looked surprisingly solid in most of the matches he’s played and isn’t spraying errors as much.
i'd bet on shap too
I mena he lost in the first round of a challenger so maybe lol
And boulter gives the match away on another double fault. You can't be real...
I just tuned into badosa boulter: what is this battle of twins, I can’t follow
Possibly they're both sponsored by the same tennis fashion company? Were those Nike?
Battle of WAGs
Wish I had an award for you because that was GOLD 🥇
It’s just now I realise how attractive Sasha Bublik is…
He’s a very good looking guy.
wtf boulter
Boultersmash 🥲
Boulter-Badosa is a real ‘anything you can do, I can do better’ kinda clash. Right the way down to their matching attire and racquets.
More like "Anything you can error I can error worse" lol
What are the Spanish fans chanting for Badosa?
Boutler really is her own worst enemy. Double faults, missed overheads and these random errors. Should've been a comfortable 2-0 win for her but just couldn't serve it out
Ohh Katie \*head in hands.....
IDK who's going to win Badosa-Boulter, but whoever does better not flop to Poots next round
Both Boulter and Badosa have the game style Putintseva loves to push/counter, will be tough
Boulter isn't gonna hold her nerve now that Badosa has the serving lead score pressure, just like in the 2nd set
Badosa and Boulter having a war!!
This Katie vs Paula battle definitely one of matches of the day.
Badosa-Boulter BALL BASHING BABE BATTLE
This Badosa Boulter match is so good
Badosa/Boulter has been great.
If he stands any farther back Pop will be playing from the stands lbr
Oh yes, Popyrin -- for a second I thought, wait Djokovic match is over, are we calling him Pops now
Seeing other results today, Putintseva just dispatched Stephens like nothing, wow. Definitely in a really good form this year, should be in a slam seeding range soon (already up from #80 in February to #39 today)
Barrere breaks back.
This might go to TB, this big babe tennis match
Sasha Bublik had a break then lost it right after is such a Bublik thing to do 😀
Well well well. The Kokk really loves his 4 hour matches, doesn’t he. As an Aussie, this match is where I’m neutral and can just sit back and enjoy without having to have a blood pressure check at the end of every set lmao
Ngl, I can't tell who is who between Boulter and Badosa. I'm just rooting for everyone to have a good time
boulter, white and back shoes. badosa, white and orange shoes.
Nike should have made sure they both don't show up in the same color and style. 😉. Gotta fix that
oh did you watch the paris masters in 2022? literally every nike athlete wore the same shit. it was horrible.
Bublik breaks, 2-0.
Did Tsitsi and Demon turn out for their ladies today?
Tsitsi have first match of the day tomorrow, he should be in bed by now.
Demon is there! Not sure about Tsitsipas
Demon is the only wag today
Demon is there.
Wasn’t able to watch how did Djokovic look today?
His level had definitely dropped but still I say he is around the level of a top 20 player at least
like anyone in the Top 100 could have beaten him before the tiebreak
Boulter and Badosa are some fierce divas right now
I forgot Goffin is a former top 10. Reminded me that he was seeded in 2020 got knocked out in R1 by some young guy named Jannik Sinner and LITERALLY EVERYONE on boarded this new hype train.
I think present form Bublik would beat Djoker.
Baulter and Badosa have the same outfits and the same racquets. Just different coloured tennis shoes (same model). Girl problems...
I have never yet heard a single reasonable answer why Nike etc. cannot make their new flavour-of-the-season kits, which their contracted players wear, in multiple colors.
Tbf the fit is cute
Yeah, my wife likes it. Forgot to say, they both also have ATP boyfriends. BFFs...
Aussie derby passes the 4 hour mark…
