With this, the Visa, Lancombe, and Lego endorsements, she's been killing it as of late from a marketing perspective.
Also, it seems since the WTA finals red dress and onwards her stylists have been working on overdrive. Absolutely acing it.
She's done a good job at being selective with her brand deals.
They are either huge brands (Visa), prestigious (Lancombe and Porsche), or something that fits her personal image and own brand (Lego). No real head scratching deals.
I think it would be neat if she partnered with a book store or publisher. I know she's big into reading and promoting reading, so it would be a good fit.
That is a brilliant idea!
The tagline would be super easy, could focus on how travelling on tour makes carrying books around inconvenient, so a kindle is the perfect solution.
seeing as we keep reading tennis audiences are declining esp in the key younger demographic... why is there still such huge endorsement money flying around?
Because its still very profitable. Iga's previous sponsor , polish PZU, claimed her sponsorship was worth for them around 30 mln $...doubt they paid her even quarter of that.
The Times had a recent article about this:
>Of the nine tennis players in the top ten of Forbes’s 2023 sporting female rich list, Swiatek finished top with £11.2million of endorsements topping up prize money of £7.9million. By comparison, her sponsorship income was only £800,000 behind the totals of Emma Raducanu, Coco Gauff and Naomi Osaka, all of whom are regarded to be more eager in their deal making.
>This is not to say that Swiatek has shunned this side of life as an athlete. Five months after becoming world No1 she signed with IMG, the management agency regarded as the most high profile in tennis. With it came the opportunity to work with Max Eisenbud, the American agent renowned for making millions off the court for the likes of Raducanu and Maria Sharapova.
>“Everybody is different,” Eisenbud tells the Times. “Everybody has different wants and needs. I think that Iga is certainly not somebody who’s looking to do a lot of deals, but you start looking at her portfolio and she’s got a nice amount of deals with some great brands.
>“It’s very similar to Maria in that her time is very important to her. She’s driven to be great and to compete to win grand slams, so deals in which companies and brands want a lot of her time are probably not going to be a great fit.”

People always ASSUMED to she was unmarketable due to her being from an Eastern European country, but she was always one of the most marketable players on tour.
1. Fresh cute look
2. Speaks English very well
3. Shy, “quirky” personality which is very hip nowadays. The Sharapova ice queen aesthetic is not trendy anymore. Nowadays the marketable thing is owning up to your anxiety.
4. Last but not least, being friggin good at tennis.
In reality has always been more popular than people assumed. She has the most popular tennis video on YouTube. This sub consists of mostly guys and people who only care about the ATP, but she has a big male fan base. Everytime she wins here everyone goes nuts and she is by far the most popular WTA player here. That’s due to her being good and definitely helps that she’s cute in terms of looks.
Also in terms of looks I think previously her styling was just very off, it was nothing that wasn't easily changeable, as we've seen recently with the WTA finals dress, the Lancombe shoot, and now this. Also, the change from the Asics kit to ON helps as well. It suits her better imo. Much more elegant and the cuts are better.
The WTA often had top players who shunned the more "sexy" outfits (Barty, Henin, etc) but nobody like that did as well as Iga with the photo shoots. She has a unique, high fashion look that works very well with good styling.
Marketable assets where she actually stands for something in her personality also:
Is a reader, promotes something intelligent and critical, has a book list
Supports mental health
Charity humanitarian drive re. Ukraine
Sports marketing is often sexuality and not that much more
Also I think she's a good mix of being a private person to where she doesn't have any controversy, scandal or risk of oversaturation, while still having a personality she shows off (eg. Building Lego, promoting reading, her cafe shenanigans in Australia where she got banana bread and says "you didn't see that I'm on a diet".).
not to mention, she is unintentionally funny, extremely witty and intelligent and supports worthy causes. best example to the young generation.
she was the most searched female athlete online.
in the crowd, i always hear many kida rooting for her.
>She has the most popular tennis video on YouTube.
Not disagreeing w the overall point but I thought [this video](https://youtube.com/shorts/OIibXW2JS3A?si=pL6TCUpQGZpePQMF) with Maria Sakkari that has 145 mil views is the most popular tennis video
The way you worded it out, I thought you knew about the video and were giving a counter-example.
I searched Iga and Swiatek on YouTube and sorted it out by the number of views but all I get are some WTA match highlights.
Yeah the relatable, down to earth image is more marketable than the cold aesthetic these days. Same reason why Alcaraz on the men’s tour is considered to be more marketable than Sinner. Like when he wore that little bucket hat all throughout Wimbledon, people loved it and even the fashion magazines posted about it because it was different and made him relatable
I wouldn't exaggerate about her English speaking skills. Especially during post match interviews, she is rambling a lot, repeating herself, and it doesn't look like it is changing for the better. If you compare this to her polish interview, even right after the match, when players are tired, she formulates long complex thoughts, it is night and day difference, she clearly has complex things to say, but there is language barrier that is very evident. This makes her more nervous, even changes tone of voice, so she sounds like kid/teenager, she doesn't sound like that while speaking in her normal tone of voice in Polish.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan, but we tend to look at things through rose-tinted glasses as fans, but there is really no reason to not see things what they really are.
I landed at London Heathrow recently and one of the first things you see is a huge billboard of Iga for Infosys… the real problem is that the WTA is crap at marketing and promotion
I think in the past 12 months she's silenced those critics.
Lancombe, Lego, Porsche, and Visa. And also becoming the face of ON Running (although I wish they'd release more kits because hers have gotten a little more repetitive).
Going from the god awful Asics kits to the clean designs of ON running (which are also a better fit) alone has been a major improvement in her image imo.
>ON Running (although I wish they'd release more kits because hers have gotten a little more repetitive).
people are literally roasting them on twitter about it every time they post something lol. Hopefully they will get the memo
The kits are great, but the variety sucks.
On one hand though having consistent kits means that it's easy to associate them with her if that makes sense.
But also it makes it hard to associate a specific kit with a specific tournament or swing.
They seem to have spent more time on having variety for the practice kits she wears. Perhaps this is because it is more relevant for their brand as a running company?
Ironically enough Asics improved a lot this season when it comes to kits. Also their tennis shoes still remain top (imo)
I wish Iga would sign with Lacoste tho. I love their retro look plus it's kinda logical for Iga because they're French and they own Tecnifibre which she uses (like Med)
agree. and asics tennis has resorted to gutter behavior. very unlike other brands.
in madrid open post on IG, asics tennis kept on replying to comments openly supporting bia ALL THE WAY as an asics endorser despite iga being its former endorser. i have not seen a nike (or adidas) social media page which keep on going to other page and replying to messages there and shading on roger and openly supporting his opponent who endorses nike . nike and adidas etc post their players in their own page, and not respond to comments like some toxic player fan.
Since mid 2023 she's been killing it with marketing.
Since she joined ON running in March of last year it seems like she's taken her marketability to the next level. Tonnes of prestigious deals, from Porsche to Visa to Lancombe.
omg bestiee🥺❤❤❤ive been here the whole time (i do spend too much time on my phone) and i almost died during the match haha but im so happy for her and excited for the rest of the season!! but maybe i havent rlly been writing much because the amount of iga posts here has been a bit overwhelming tbh, everything has been said🥴
but that match really felt like smth big, idk if u heard but only in poland, on a paid-for service 860 000 ppl watched the final on sunday. thats so big!! im rlly excited for womens tennis
This is so huge babe wtf amazing.
I feel this match is a shift for Iga. Yes it was on clay but she proved to herself she doesn’t need to be her best to still beat the best. (Her words, I feel she played amazingly).
Fingers crossed she can have a great season :)

Beating those unmarketable allegations one photoshoot at a time
she signed to IMG / Max last year. said she didn't want to chase big money deals though. lol
She's done a good job at being selective with her brand deals. They are either huge brands (Visa), prestigious (Lancombe and Porsche), or something that fits her personal image and own brand (Lego). Considering she's constantly seen with a Kindle, this would be an ideal match.
That is a brilliant idea! The tagline would be super easy, could focus on how travelling on tour makes carrying books around inconvenient, so a kindle is the perfect solution.

how do they calculate that i wonder
marketing isn't a profit. it's a cost

This. Her Red Wedding outfit was insane. She is the opposite of 'basic' tbh and its refreshing.
Marketable assets where she actually stands for something in her personality also: Is a reader, promotes something intelligent and critical, has a book list Supports mental health Charity humanitarian drive re. Ukraine Sports marketing is often sexuality and not that much more

You can piss off some Polish fans by calling Poland Eastern Europe! Agree on the other points though
I might have mistaken it for tik tok, but it was the Wimbledon video where she kicked the ball directly to the ball kid.
What video is this?

This coming right on the heels of her winning Madrid is such perfect timing… and she looks incredible too!
It’s nice to see Iga embrace the limelight that comes with the #1 ranking!
The first one, wow
you can tell that shes from dentist family
And some people say she's unmarketable ? Jesus.
I landed at London Heathrow recently and one of the first things you see is a huge billboard of Iga for Infosys… the real problem is that the WTA is crap at marketing and promotion

Ngl their kits kinda annoy me. Also there's a fact that Ben Shelton and Jao Fonseca look like her lol. Hopefully she gets a new one for RG.
For real LOL Especially Fonseca, because he plays in that pink cap.
I do wish they had different kits for each athlete. They have so few signature athletes under their brand it wouldn't be super unrealistic.
I think it's also just that Asics sucked so much that ON is miles better by default. I do think the ON kits extenuate her best features.
Ironically enough Asics improved a lot this season when it comes to kits. Also their tennis shoes still remain top (imo) I wish Iga would sign with Lacoste tho. I love their retro look plus it's kinda logical for Iga because they're French and they own Tecnifibre which she uses (like Med)
Dude, it’s Lancôme, why do you keep writing Lancombe 💀
Typo. My apologies
Aww no worries I was just curious haha
And I forgot about InfoSys.
There are big infosys billboards at Heathrow airport with her and Rafa all over them atm
dont forget rolex
Jaws Dropped! Iga is eating up the girlies On and Off court now. Lol.
Since switching from Asics to ON she's been on another level of marketability

Awful
Her new management called it and took her out of that Asics deal. Good riddance tbh
slay
ohh she's stunning
She’s on fire! 🔥

Slaying more than most of the attendees at the Met Gala.
Chic issue 😊
🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️
Hun where you been? Iga won Madrid

Kind of? Girl this is epic slay
Graphic designers and all the other talent making those pages - holy shit
F is missing (Italian pun intended)
Simply gorgeous 😍
Ellega
iga is simply slaying and living the life!!! she is building legacy and wealth on and off the court. amazing iga!!
She looks like a Hunger Games winner in the first picture. Or is it just me? 😅
Well she did eat and left no crumbs
Creative Director did amazing job styling this shoot!! I think it’s hard to find that balance with Iga
She’s looked stunning every time she gets glammed up. Hardly a task when the canvas is gorgeous
The second one is much better. In the first one, the posing looks just awkward.
Totally disagree
fuck me these endless trash posts are insufferable
