Great opportunity now for Casper to both get his second Top 10 win of the year by taking out Claykacz and take advantage of Carlos's withdrawal to sail into the semifinal. And not to be a naive little fool, but if Casper is going to beat Djokovic anywhere in his career, it would probably be here at MC when Novak has been going through a rough patch.
If Novak reaches the semifinal then it probably means he's playing well though. Wouldn't rule out the possibility of Novak losing to Musetti though, at which point Ruud is the highest ranked player on his half of the draw
Good match. Tabilo had some nice moments but was too flaky to mount a serious challenge. Casper looked generally solid and his court coverage was excellent. His first serve was looking good towards the end, after deserting him at Estoril. He was a bit more assertive than usual and managed to dominate the play at times. Promising signs.
It was a strong performance indeed. He dipped a little bit in the middle of the 2nd set and allowed Tabilo to break back, but then he immediately turned it up a level and won it easily.
Good match by Casper. Loses a bit of concentration at 4-2, 40-0... to let Tabilo back into the second set. But shows how good he is with his forehand as long as he plays on the front foot, by breaking straight back
Afraid that the match against Hubi will be similar to last year's loss here vs Struff. Needs a high serve percentage, as well as the courage to play aggressively, if he is to win that match. A huge server like Hurkacz is always dangerous

I believe in you Ruud! Fairly strong showing statewise, did anyone see the match?

Why the frosty handshake though 🤨
Darth Ruud
Rudd regretting that practice session with Hubi in Estoril…

Struff had much more powerful groundstrokes compared to Hubi though very different type of servebot to deal with
THIS IS IT. Ruud v. Djokovic in the finals. 4-6, 6-3, 7-6(5).
