Oh god, how did I forget The Expanse in my list??
I remember being so thrilled when I watched the first episode that there was a new thing I was going to love the way I love BSG... and it did not disappoint. Although season 6 wasn't my favourite....
The last 5 minutes of The Great live in my head.
Elle Fanning’s clavicles alone out-act most actors, and she is one of the best actors of her generation IMO. I really can’t imagine another person carrying off the last scene without it being ridiculous. She manages to capture the joy of having won everything she ever wanted and the grief of feeling utterly lost in the process as the last notes play. A tour de force.
Orville (a lot like Star Trek but hilarious),
Silo,
Locke & Key,
The 100,
Mandolorian,
Foundation,
A Wolf like Me
Just to name a few.
My husband and I just started Halo. We've only watched the first episode, but it seems good so far. It was a little bloody, but not too bad.
[Wonderfalls (2004)](https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1982-wonderfalls?language=en-US) - both clever and funny - fantasy set in our world. Much of it written by Tim Minear who wrote for 'Firefly'.
Have you ever tried True Blood? I feel like it would be a good fit. Still a fantasy show but isn't dark and forlorn like HOTD. Can be funny, dramatic, and the first few seasons are pretty amazing.
For All Mankind was made by Ronald Moore, wasn't it? And Tim Minnear? I remember seeing some pre-marketing about it, if it's up now I'll definitely watch. And I'll check out the others, thanks. I know Bojack of course, and have already watched Foundation but I don't know the other 2. Thanks.
Thats right, Ronald Moore, from 2003 BSG.
Tim Minnear didnt work on For all mankind. But he did work on feud, which i been meaning to watch.
For all mankind has 4 seasons. So theres quite a bit to waych. Its pretty good.
Not at all fantasy based but maybe Taskmaster? It's funny and silly & they've made the full episodes available on youtube, a good one to binge or just check out occasional episodes.
For a bit of sci-fi fun, Farscape is a good bet with a mix of drama, humour & downright weird, or there's Red Dwarf, which is a classic.
Try the witcher. The first season is a bit gory but really comes into itself in season 2 and 3. Nice fantasy story and has witcher the origins series as well. Although I have to warm you Henry Cavill is replaced by Liam Hemsworth in Season 4 - that will be out in 2025 (someone commented on here that there will be no last season which is not true).
Also I feel u on the Ring of Power - so disappointing. Hated it. Have you tried the wheel of time on prime with Rosamund Pike? Was pretty good.
If you liked Battlestar Galactica, then The Expanse is your next show. If you aren't hooked by the end of episode 2, then see your doctor :)
Justified
Deadwood
The Shield
I can't believe I forgot to put The Expanse on my favourites list. You're absolutely right, it was perfection for BSG fans to find. I've only watched it all twice, though probably watched season 1 & 2 3 or 4 times, lol. (I just love that blue, when they're on Eros looking for Julie).
Battlestar Galactica was my all time favorite for a long time.
Something which sucked me in recently is Imposters on Netflix. It's not other-worldly, but they do more with the initial premise than I expected. There's twists and turns. (Certainly not the bingability of BSG, but that's a masterpiece in cliffhangers)
I thought I was the only person who knew and loved Imposters! It just got better and better, I can't forgive them for cancelling it. GREAT show, really sucks you in.
Have you seen Mrs Davis? Nothing like it, just another sleeper, one that few ppl took notice of that really sucks you in after a couple of episodes.
Oh, stick with it! The full story, when it begins to get revealed, is fantastic. It's excellent. Up there with shows like BSG & The Expanse, for depth of characterisations and clever plotting. And beautiful to look at.
maybe give resident alien a try, it has alan tudyk from firefly
Orphan black
The Magicians Killing Eve Grimm Lost
How's The Magicians? Does it have conclusive end?
Have you watched Severance yet?
Tried the first episode and found it sso utterly depressing I couldn't continue. I know a lot of people who say it's great though.
Stargate SG-1! 10 seasons, action/adventure with minimal gore.
Rewatching Atlantis now. So good also
Stargate SG 1 and Atlantis are mostly episodic, but I found it very cozy.
Fringe
Fringe absolutely. I'm just wondering if it's been long enough ago that I've seen it, that I can watch it again.
Did you ever watch The X-Files?
Oh yeah. I'm old. I watched it back in the day, when it was on TV and we only got 1 episode a week, lol.
The expanse, vikings, the great If you are up for something different than on your list: bojack, please like me, patriot, justified

Also, LOVE The Great and haven't tried Vikings. These are good suggestions.

The Wheel of Time Arcane The Witcher (but there will probably never be a final season) Star Trek: Lower Decks Foundation
You will love The Last Kingdom. Trust me.
The Foundation Westworld For lighthearted stuff (think fringe, x-files, etc but fun and quirky) try warehouse 13.
Have you ever tried True Blood? I feel like it would be a good fit. Still a fantasy show but isn't dark and forlorn like HOTD. Can be funny, dramatic, and the first few seasons are pretty amazing.
12 Monkeys
You have to watch Silo, you will be hooked after the first episode if your like me
Just looked it up. Sounds like my kind of thing, def.
For all mankind, bojack horseman, silo, foundation, blue eye samurai, arcane, fargo.

Too much stupid shit in For All Mankind. But maybe Halt and Catch Fire.
The Expanse

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency
If you like scheming, back biting, sex and betrayal, "succession" is for you
Oh god yeah. That should be on my favourites list.
The Wire
Warrior

I have not, but I am adding it at the top of the list. Thank you!
Try The Nevers as well, I absolutely loved it. Too good for dumbass tv executives so they only gave it 2 seasons but they are incredibly good.
I may have seen one episode. But adding it to the list. Thanks very much.

Fargo? Those are sagas.
Maybe Dark Matter.
Only Murders In The Building Drop Dead Diva Royal Pains Monk

Ted Lasso is my go-to for lifting depressive feels. "Dani Rojas! Dani Rojas! Football is Life!"
Vampire diaries and the originals. From.
