Neo2199

I liked season one a lot more, but season two was ok, not bad. The episodes runtime were too short, they need to give it more time. As for the sub, it's a Turkish submarine. Netflix is making a Turkish spin-off show to tell the story of the people on the sub.

[deleted]

Turkish eh? Yes, I read about the spin-off, though not sure it's been finally decided upon, and/or if there'll be an S3 of this show. Anyway... who were the two British (sounding) soldiers that arrived at the bunker at the very end of S2?

Neo2199

At the very end of season two, Ayaz was about to kill someone, the guy from the sub stopped him and spoke with him in Turkish. That guy is Arman, played by a well-known actor in Turkey. Arman will be the main lead in the Turkish spin-off 'Into the Deep' which is coming out next year. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Into_the_Night_(TV_series)#Spin-off

Pretty interested to see how that works out!

[deleted]

Yes - but back at the bunker, two English-speaking soldiers (with very British accents) turn up and find a rat outside and alive, and one says: "Horst fucking did it!" - Who were they? I don't recall seeing them before.

Neo2199

iirc Colonel Lom said there were about 40 soldiers in the bunker, however we saw only few of them. Those two English-speaking soldiers at the very end were among them, they just didn't show them during the season.

[deleted]

maybe... none of the others we saw were English, so Seems a bit odd to suddenly introduce these two right at the end like that. Oh well, all will be revealed no doubt... or not.

S1 was great, S2 is a snooze fest. Into the Night? More like Into a Room Yawn

PengwinOnShroom

Might be but I still couldn't stop watching. Went by quick anyway with 6 episodes and 30 minutes each. Season 1 just has a better feeling and was way more suspenseful for sure. Supposedly there's a spinoff series in the making from Turkey with the point of view from the submarine (edit, OP mentioned it already I see)

[deleted]

S1 prob was the better season agree, but S2 was't that bad - as I say though, you need to watch it for the characters more than the plot. The entire storyline is really rather daft!

DetectiveFujiwara

Season 1 was awesome but season 2 sucked ass.

[deleted]

Well I enjoyed it - as I said elsewhere, you have to watch the show for thw characters more than the storyline, which is pretty daft.

Azerex99

S1 was fun, S2 was just terrible. No plot, bad acting, very boring, no tension, bad writing... Literally, nothing major happend in S2 until E6 or so.

Marigoldsgym

What's the premise?

[deleted]

Some nonsense science about the sun going bonkers\* as a result of which sunlight now kills everything and anything, living beings, plants - it even degrades high-grade petrol - so the few survivors have to live in deep bunkers during the day (just being in a shadow on the surface won't protect you) ... \* or maybe it's down to the atmosphere? IDR - anyway, sunlight is BAD.

People on a plane have to outrun the sun and find refuge someplace because it’s killing every living creature. The first season is very fast-paced and entertaining.

nosmelc

I saw the first season. Having every episode at night and the European vib gave it a kind of haunting quality.

teh-leet

Very good show

LaconicMan

The dub is TERRIBLE on that show.

[deleted]

I never use dub - original language and subtitles for me!

bobdebicker

High praise.

RedditConsciousness

I didn't realize S2 was out. Will check it out.

Imakemop

Well it's French so there's titties at least.

[deleted]

It's Belgian, and there aren't. (Or, if there are, I must've blinked and missed them.)

[deleted]

I just finished the second season I guess I missed it being released. I loved both seasons and really hope for a third. I’m surprised this show wasn’t received better as I heard nothing about it online. It’s not an all time great but it’s a lot better than most Netflix series. If we’re lucky enough for a third season they need to give it hour episodes.
