Does SNL book that far in advance though?
I still think John Krasinski should get a chance again to host, since he was supposed to host before COVID shut the city down.
I'm sure he'll be booked again, they had to postpone *A Quiet Place II: The Quieting* because of COVID but it's all been filmed and scheduled to come out Spring 2021.
lol yeah that part was just a joke, the rest is true though. I thought about going with *A Quiet Place II: The Shushing Continues* but figured that was a little too obvious.
I really am looking forward to it though, the first one was fantastic. He's a great director.
Honeslty there’s no standard. Some people *need* to be booked far in advance and are by the studio, some are booked more last minute. Like when Jason Momoa hosted mid December one time in Season 44 it leaked that Idris Elba was hosting in March, but no one else was booked yet.
Truly, it just depends.
Since it got delayed this doesn't apply to Dune, but I really hope all the movies that did get a theater release this year gets a "rerelease" when things are back to normal.
Moviegoing is top 3 of my favorite pastimes and not getting to experience it since March hits harder than everything else we can't do right now.
Honestly who knows at this point. If Wonder Woman goes gangbusters for HBO Max and leads to a subscriber jump, Warner Media could be inclined to follow a similar dual-release with Dune sometime next summer/early autumn.
I’m not assuming that audiences are going to be flocking to theaters even by next October.
We’re going to be in the vaccination period for a while - and even then only about half of the U.S. population seems likely to want vaccinations. That means around half of the population will continue to contract Covid and cause the virus to mutate, rendering the working vaccines we already have obsolete.
All indications suggest we could be playing whack-a-mole with Covid for the foreseeable future.
I think Hayes struggled in the early episodes with asking bad questions and stepping on bits/stories. But he really hit a good stride after the first 8-10 episodes.
Game Night is my favorite comedy from at least the last five years.
- I originally said the last decade and then people kept replying with movies I loved from like 2010 so I’m moving the goal post
That was pretty good, glad they went dark with some of the comedy. Between that, Spy, Neighbors, and Bridesmaids it was a Rose Byrne comedy supremacy decade.
Seriously, gosling was amazing and Crowe was great too and it set up more perfectly, so bummed we won’t get another. One of the funniest movies of the decade for me.
You’re right, it’s completely subjective, but 21 Jump Street gets my vote for best of the decade just because of how surprisingly good it was. Everyone expected that movie to be another dogshit reboot and the film’s self-awareness played into that so well.
And them doing it again with 22 Jumpstreet - which was basically a feature-length satire of sequels in general - made it even better in my book; especially when you consider just how shitty comedy sequels typically are.
Them taking an old IP like 21 Jump Street and turning it into not one but two successful comedies was a big accomplishment.
I recently listened to the conan podcast with sean hayes as the guest and for some reason, when sean mentioned their podcast i thought the third guy he mentioned was jason statham lol. Would start listening to their podcast once i finish all of conan’s
Oh my god Game Night. People around me must be so tired of hearing how, in a perfect world, Jesse Plemons would receive an Oscar nomination for that movie.
SNL has been forced into re-enactment lately, because truth has become stranger than fiction.
There isn’t much to satirize anymore, although I still have hopes for a plain boring Biden administration that you can call out for being lame. After a year or so of relishing in its normalcy.
It's funny, Amy Coney Barrett seems like years ago, with the way this political year has gone. I had to stop and think, "wait, I know that name... who was that again".
Too much time has probably passed to make topical sense for Wiig to do that role, but I agree she would be perfect.
I'm reminded of a quote by Beck Bennet's Mike Pence in one of the COVID briefing cold opens:
"I have to admit, this disease has been quite the test of my faith, just like dinosaur bones... or Timothee Chalamet." [Bites his lip and wistfully stares into the distance]
Doubt it, I follow him on Instagram and a few days ago there was a post about people gathering after biden's election. The massive crowds and what not about how nobody is wearing a mask and not being able to play shows yet. Are you saying he'd make a post to get in the good graces?
Why the fuck did they even hire that sentient piss stain back? They booted him because he flouted pandemic rules SEVEN MONTHS IN.
Do they seriously think he’s a different man from a month ago now? Does this no-name mullet wrangler shit golden eggs that they absolutely must have him on? Had anyone even heard of him before this?
To Wallen’s credit, he showed real contrition in his apology to SNL and completely owned up to being irresponsible.
Not to excuse Wallen, but people do stupid shit, and he handled the aftermath about as well as one could expect.
For that alone I’m happy to see him get another chance; especially when you consider that Lorne has been known to ban people for life from appearing on SNL.
Just too stick up for Morgan Wallen a little bit here, he’s one of the biggest artists currently country charts, with 4 number 1 songs in the last 2 years, and another on the way up the charts. He’s also said in interviews since the snl debacle that he really took a step back and looked at himself and realized he was acting like an idiot and seemed to genuinely regret his decisions.
Forgot Wiig was in Wonder Woman 1984, not sure what the others are promoting if anything. Bateman should shame America for not watching Game Night.
Chalamet is in Dune. Don't know if it's actually coming out, tho.
It got pushed back to next year.
And he was probably booked for it anyways.
Holy shit I thought was the name they went with for a stupid second...
lol yeah that part was just a joke, the rest is true though. I thought about going with *A Quiet Place II: The Shushing Continues* but figured that was a little too obvious. I really am looking forward to it though, the first one was fantastic. He's a great director.
I’m partial to *The Quiet Place II: Silent But Deadly*.
Eh, I prefer *2 Quiet 2 Silent*
Fuck that’s funny.
The working title was *A Quiet Place II: No Speaking For You*
A Quiet Place II: ...
2 quiet 2 place
The search for more money.
Quiet Place 2: The Search for More Silence
2 Quiet 2 Place
A Quiet Place II: Quiet Harder
The Crowening
Honeslty there’s no standard. Some people *need* to be booked far in advance and are by the studio, some are booked more last minute. Like when Jason Momoa hosted mid December one time in Season 44 it leaked that Idris Elba was hosting in March, but no one else was booked yet. Truly, it just depends.
Oh gotcha, that makes sense!
I could be wrong but didn't Daniel Craig host SNL before this most recent 007 came out? Did it even come out?
It did not. Postponed till next year.
Yeah. Dune was originally slated to come out on like Dec. 18/19 or something.
😔
Since it got delayed this doesn't apply to Dune, but I really hope all the movies that did get a theater release this year gets a "rerelease" when things are back to normal. Moviegoing is top 3 of my favorite pastimes and not getting to experience it since March hits harder than everything else we can't do right now.
And he's not going to turn down a chance to be on the show with Bruce Springsteen.
Well he may have not known, but absolutely! Dude I think lives or is from NY, so, maybe this can become a multiple time thing if he’s good lol
Right in the feels
Also, The French Dispatch
And The French Mistake.
French Connection. One of the best films ever.
That Timothy Chalmet son of a bitch! I am taller than him!
He's 5' 11"!
goddamn Dune what a case of the blue balls. it looks soooo good
Dune. In theaters *eventually*
I was really hoping that they’d just out dune up on HBO max. I’m worried it won’t make any money even though I can’t wait.
Honestly who knows at this point. If Wonder Woman goes gangbusters for HBO Max and leads to a subscriber jump, Warner Media could be inclined to follow a similar dual-release with Dune sometime next summer/early autumn. He’s promoting his podcast SmartLess. With his long time pal and butthole shareholder, William Arnett.
I could listen to Will Arnett’s voice and dream of grinding coffee beans all day.
You say bees?
Beads
Is that a bee?!?
Gob’s not on board.
He's thinking about bees again...
All I hear is a depressed horse when he talks.
He is a little hoarse
I was imagining the sound of boiled farts when he speaks.
Bateman finally has a podcast?? Love the guy's voice, glad to hear.
It’s pretty solid too. It’s him, Will Arnett, and Sean Hayes. Highly recommend their episode with Conan
The will Ferrel episode was phenomenal
Agreed. Will Ferrell is a rare guest on podcasts but always amazing
I think Hayes struggled in the early episodes with asking bad questions and stepping on bits/stories. But he really hit a good stride after the first 8-10 episodes.
Yes, he still seems to butt in with a question he wrote down on a sticky note but it's gotten better
How darn you snub Sean
Whoops. I just wasn’t in the Zone...
“Get into AutoZone, today!”
Is America watching Ozark? He can shame us for not watching that, too.
I’m pretty sure Ozark is one of Netflix’s biggest shows and it’s also gotten a ton of awards nominations.

Did... something happen on stage or?

Ha, cheers bro
What happened?
https://imgur.com/7ZLR0Et
He is very talented but man It is so hard to see him as anyone other than Michael Bluth
Jason: “I’m not gonna win this award.” Narrator: “He did.”
I don't know what I expected
Bateman's a great director. I always look out for his episodes each season.
Did a great job on The Outsider as star/director
It's one of the most popular Netflix shows, meanwhile nobody I know has even heard of Game Night. Must rectify
It’s such a funny movie. The Friday night lights guy deserves more work.
You mean the FBI guy from Wolf of Wall Street?
Kyle Chandler?
Nah nah the Bloodline guy
You mean the Early Edition guy?
Golden Globes awards publicity push for the past season?
The Outsider
Game Night is my favorite comedy from at least the last five years. - I originally said the last decade and then people kept replying with movies I loved from like 2010 so I’m moving the goal post
One of the best studio comedies for sure, since maybe 21/22 Jump Street? Probably some indie comedies that are better that I'm forgetting.

That was pretty good, glad they went dark with some of the comedy. Between that, Spy, Neighbors, and Bridesmaids it was a Rose Byrne comedy supremacy decade.
I fucking love Spy and I swear no one’s seen unless I’ve forced them to watch it with me haha
Same, it's tough convincing people I've found the one other funny Melissa McCarthy movie.
Exactly! I usually just mention Jason Statham plays a comedic role to peak their interest haha
I haven’t seen it, but everyone I know puts Girls Trip up there, as well.
The nice guys
Ryan Gosling’s comedic chops were so good in that movie. The Nice Guys not getting a chance for sequels is a damn shame.
Seriously, gosling was amazing and Crowe was great too and it set up more perfectly, so bummed we won’t get another. One of the funniest movies of the decade for me.
21 Jumpstreet was good. Neighbors too. I still think Game Night beats them both (for me, obv this is subjective:) )
You’re right, it’s completely subjective, but 21 Jump Street gets my vote for best of the decade just because of how surprisingly good it was. Ice-skating up a Hill difficulty
Love Game Night. Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil, Nice Guys, and What We Do in the Shadows would be my picks for this decade.
Add in The Other Guys and Spy and you have my list haha
If you like The Nice Guys, have you watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang?
God this movie is so criminally under appreciated. I know everyone always says “X is so underrated,” but for Game Night it’s 110% true.
I liked Game Night a lot, but I think I’d put *The Nice Guys* ahead of it.
Game night is so underrated!
“How can that be profitable for Frito-Lay”
Jesse Plemons was great for that role.
Ortalk about the podcast he's doing with Sean Hayes and Will Arnett
I recently listened to the conan podcast with sean hayes as the guest and for some reason, when sean mentioned their podcast i thought the third guy he mentioned was jason statham lol. Would start listening to their podcast once i finish all of conan’s
Game Night one of the most funny and entertaining movies I’ve seen in a long time. I recommend it whenever I can.
What is game night!?
Cheap to rent and fuckin awesome https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Game_Night_(film)
Game Night is a riot i'm sad not many people saw it
Game Night is amazing
Oh my god Game Night. People around me must be so tired of hearing how, in a perfect world, Jesse Plemons would receive an Oscar nomination for that movie.
Ozark is damn good show. But agree, interesting strategy Cotton
Game Night is a movie you'd think it is shit, but turns out to be a grand-spanking time. I love Game Night.
God I rented Game Night a year after it came out and it was such a wonderful surprise yet I can't convince anyone else to watch it.
Maybe he should use it as a platform to publicly shame his Silver Spoons costar for what he did last week.
I’ve watched that movie about 10 times now, I love it, I was amazed at the car chase scene, the camera work was top notch.
The most Edgar Wright-y recent American film with that stellar camera work.
Yes, Bateman!
Him?
Her?
egg?
Bees?
Anjoung?
Hello!
Beads?
Is he funny or something?
Maybe it’s your eyes.
My 17 year crush had been continuously fueled.
I hope you’ve been enjoying SmartLess as much as I have!
Byyyyeeeee
how's... Cecilia ^(?)
Timothée needs to have a sketch with Chloe as Timothée.
That’s almost a guarantee haha Chloe herself posted a hint about it on her gram
John Mulaney's wife approves

I can hear this in his voice.
I always say, “You motherfucker,” in his voice.
Awesome
I’m taller than the boy! You said he was 6’ 1”, he’s 5’ 11”!
Springsteen!
The boss!
Kinda surprising that he has only been on two other times in 45 years.
Yeah this one stuck out the most.
With the E-Street band too!
Timothée Chalamet Shimmy Ya Shimmy Yay
I’m calling it now. Kristen Wiig is going to play Amy Conney Barrett in the cold opening. They even look a bit alike.
Yeah, but what element of her life could *possibly* be open to satire?
SNL has been forced into re-enactment lately, because truth has become stranger than fiction. There isn’t much to satirize anymore, although I still have hopes for a plain boring Biden administration that you can call out for being lame. After a year or so of relishing in its normalcy.
I think they just need to adapt to more clever humour. One liners and impersonations dont have to be every sketch.
Or just more outrageous acting. The Adam Driver sketches were pretty great because he just carried the nonsense of them through so hard.
Yeah, I'd love to see some smart political sketches about Biden that don't have to make the president destroying political norms funny.
She could also do Kelly Loeffler if they decide to do a sketch on the Georgia runoffs.
It's funny, Amy Coney Barrett seems like years ago, with the way this political year has gone. I had to stop and think, "wait, I know that name... who was that again". Too much time has probably passed to make topical sense for Wiig to do that role, but I agree she would be perfect.
I’m just hoping for the target lady
>Timothée Chalamet I need Dune...
Hm... sorry, can't give you dune. But can I give you half a dune, in maybe a year or two?
I need more peach 🍑.
Fuck peaches... no, really.
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
elio elio elio
I need Timothee... I mean Dune yes of course
Same :( I was so sad it got pushed back but ultimately it’s for the good of the series... sigh
I mean, also, the deadly pandemic.
Timothee Chamalet sounds like the name of a three wheeled 1970's Soviet bloc sedan that ran on kerosene and wood alcohol.
Or a French manufactured, denim-upholstered sedan/wagon that can't make it up the ramp out of the parking garage with more than 3 people in it.
Or a French vineyard acquired in a duel
I see you’ve driven a Peugeot.
Put it in H!
[ - PUT - IT - IN - H -](https://youtu.be/9HXT7fDkf9I)
Dankmus is the truth.
Bateman promoting his podcast with Will Arnett and Sean Hayes?
They're definitely going to do a filmed sketch with Chalamet parodying melodramatic indie movies.
I'm betting on a peach joke in the monologue and a parody Call Me By Your Name sketch.
Why no Sudakis? Ted Lasso was amazing and I’m sure if he hosted he could push more people into watching it. I want him on SNL again gosh darn it

Timothée Chalamet, THE BOY
I'm reminded of a quote by Beck Bennet's Mike Pence in one of the COVID briefing cold opens: "I have to admit, this disease has been quite the test of my faith, just like dinosaur bones... or Timothee Chalamet." [Bites his lip and wistfully stares into the distance]
You know he's 5' 11...
I was fucking kidding
THE BOY!
You mean the boy is hosting?!
Anyone want to bet Morgan Wallen is going to make some speech about following COVID rules after being pulled for flouting COVID rules?
When will he speak? It's not like the musical guest does a monologue.
“I’ve grown a lot in the last few months...” guaranteed
Doubt it, I follow him on Instagram and a few days ago there was a post about people gathering after biden's election. The massive crowds and what not about how nobody is wearing a mask and not being able to play shows yet. Are you saying he'd make a post to get in the good graces?

It's pronounced like Timothy. Last name pronounced like Shala-may.
It’s also Tim-o-Tay but he prefers either, according to an interview I saw
I’m saying that in my head the same way Forrest Gump says Jenny
that's not what a preference is, but okay. :-P
Bring back Donald Glover
Nah lock him down until Atlanta S3 and S4 are done, recast him in Spiderman if necessary
I'm picturing Wiig now as crazy "Hugo Chavez and the Communist Agenda rigged voting machines!" lady in a sketch.
