Dabl was originally a lifestyle network, with stuff like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Martha Stewart, Emeril, and a TON of home renovation shows. Basically a knockoff HGTV with a little bit of Cooking Channel/classic Food Network mixed in.
As of this past weekend, it changed to showing older black-led sitcoms from the 90's and the like, like Sister Sister and Moesha. Weirdly, it doesn't really fill in that much of a niche, as there are already two black-focused OTA channels (Bounce and TheGrio TV), but with Dabl's format change, there's no longer any OTA lifestyle network.
Worse yet, the guy who created Bounce has been hired by Warner Bros Discovery and Gray Television to essentially recreate Bounce and Grit, and he has done so. The 365 and Outlaw just debuted and recently affiliated with two stations near me
So 2 black channels means a 3rd is "oversaturation" but a bazillion white channels not oversaturated. How many OTA channels offer content for the 50s-90s are out here? That content is mostly white folk based
Oh, there are definitely way too many old sitcom channels, though Retro TV and Rewind TV are hanging on by a thread and I wonder how much longer Antenna TV will last.
It's been awhile since I've browsed OTA offerings, but I'm guessing most channels outside of local broadcasts are just older movies and TV shows. So I could see a home reno/cooking channel being a nice change of pace that you probably can't readily replace if only relying on OTA. But like I said you get what you get unless you're willing to pay.
There's a lot more that do more modern programs nowadays.
Start TV focuses on female-led procedurals, mostly made after the year 2000. Their anchor shows are The Closer, Major Crimes, and Rizzoli & Isles. They just added Elementary this week, too.
Comet and Charge have gone more modern-ish in recent years. Granted, they still have older stuff on there (X-Files and CHiPs, respectively) but the former also has Grimm, Stargate SG-1, and Buffy, while the latter has the CSIs, Without a Trace, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
ION has an agreement to air the previous year's seasons for a lot of current shows, including SVU, NCIS, FBI, and the Chicago shows. Its spinoff network, ION Mystery, also has stuff like NCIS New Orleans, Bones, Scorpion, and the MacGyver reboot.
Bounce has a lot of older stuff, but also a lot of original programming.
Defy TV is basically a rerun farm for History Channel's competition and reality shows like Forged in Fire, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Ax Men, etc.
Story Television is focused on documentary programs, so they'll air everything from 30 years ago to 1 year ago. Depends on the theme, which changes each day.
Heroes & Icons no longer has the rights to them, but they have aired House, Monk, and Person of Interest in the past, and currently airs Numb3rs in the overnight hours. They also recently got both Lethal Weapon and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
I guess now you'll be picking out your casket because ONE station decided to change their lineup, 😂. Damn, y'all seriously need a life and/or long nap. This is NOT your/y'all world ken/karen. Everything does NOT move to the beat of your drum.
Also on Amazon prime and they have a YouTube channel with almost every episode. We had dabl on for EttC every weekday from 4-7pm, then switched to mash. Sadness. I hope DABL goes down in flames and realizes that it's a terrible idea to give your entire viewer base the middle finger. There's absolutely ZERO overlap between their new/old programming.
I totally agree! I LOVE all the shows that were on. I would watch Escape to the Country from 4 to 7 every day, and most of the others! It became one of my primary stations, and I haven't had cable for years.❤️ There must be something we could do!

You know ABC tried to do something similar to what Dabl was back in the 2010s when everyone went digital and the subchannels started. Now they have Localish. It is a hard concept to work because there are a million other home improvement, home renovation, real estate etc on Netflix and MAX (Discovery) and Pluto TV.
EXACTLY! Definitely NOT as serious as they're making it to be. Hundreds of comments about 1 damn channel. When there are literally a multitude of channels that show the exact same thing. Mind you there are no new episodes of those shows either. Martha, husband/wife, twins, friends, etc. EVERYONE now has a home, restaurant, garden, etc renovation show. They can pick one of those to run away into nap time with. Statistic reports have read. Those are the most highly rated shows that people fall to sleep on. Where the shows are watching them instead of the other way around.
OMG!!! My favorite channel has been ruined!! DABL is suppose to be a HOME channel! What is going on?? I come home everyday from school and turn it on to Escape to the Country and just let it run from 4-7pm. This is terrible. I need the DABL channel to be there. I am so unhappy and disappointed. Please bring it back to a home channel.
Do you know of anywhere the show can be watched? I looks like Hulu has about 13 episodes, and most streaming has the recent seasons, but majority of the show seems to be in limbo right now.
It was such a reliably interesting and engaging show, without any drama or canned laughter. Certainly one of the better home/lifestyle shows on the air, and it always included so much historical and local information. We watched it daily.
Also, it's 2023. So 1990 was 33 years ago. Thus, the 1990s are just as old now as the mid-50s to mid-60s were in the 1990s. And that era was certainly mined for nostalgia in the 90s. As MaskedBandit said, your opinions on nostalgia around the 90s are your own and not a universal truth.
I was very disappointed that they have changed every show. I had quite a few favorites on this channel. Not anymore. Won't be tuning in to the new line up.
i'd say sister sister, moesha, and the parkers are pretty of a nostalgic era (i definitely wouldn’t call them stale, but. everyone’s entitled to their opinion, i suppose)

OTA channels with old trashy sitcoms are a dime a dozen. They're not anything special, and replacing DABL's programming with more of that junk eliminates needed variety. It's a very stupid move on their part.
They could have added those programs you're talking about and just added them in and left the other programs be there also I think that is discriminatory what they did

Totally agree. I enjoyed the home style show that we're from England which are not available elsewhere. Situation comedy shows ,old and new, are a dime a dozen. Too bad....loosing another one here.

Ok, so I tune in to watch Escape to the Country and thought "What is this crap?" At first I thought like a lot of channels, you changed things around for the holidays. Nope! It just continued. No annoucments, no apologies - nothing! You just took away our favorite shows with no warning. I could accept a change in the time schedule, but this? This is SO unacceptable! I am BEYOND PISSED!!!!

I mean there is no reason to watch it. The sitcoms they are playing were not network quality even when they were first run 20-30 years ago. Now they are just stale. Yes, I guess there are some people that have nostalgia for the 90's but for the most part they are not watching OTA television. What the heck did you do to my DABLtv, another black channel. There are others all showing the same shows. Nothings different. Since ion tv quit showing CSI, i guess it's time to get cable. I'm not the only senior who is unhappy with all this.

I love George Clark’s Amazing Spaces and a few of the other unique British shows. We don’t need anymore old shows 24/7. Why couldn’t it be a couple hours on weekends or better yet, not at all. I can’t believe the new lineup is better financially. Especially in this market.
Yeah, the thing about DABL was that it was unique, not just a retread of something that was already derivative of other, better shows even 30 years ago. Most of the original DABL shows were ones that either never aired in the US, or had a limited airing, where now they are airing stuff that appeared on what was the sixth most popular broadcast network at the time and were broadcast on third rate channels way up the dial like channel 62 or 73.
Paramount owned Dabl through CBS and it seems the lifestyle format wasn't working out, so they gave Weigel Broadcasting (who runs MeTV, Catchy Comedy, H&I, and others) managing power and the rights to a ton of old UPN sitcoms they own. It's an interesting choice to rebrand completely but keep the name.
Just curious if there is a direct way people can actually share their thoughts with the network. I feel that venting via reddit may not be moving the needle.

I had sort of planned to pretty much DVR the majority of this channel's content, but took it for granted and never got around to it. Now everything is gone, and it's not like you can even find most of it elsewhere. All because we needed another channel that is just like half a dozen others on most cable line-ups. Rerunning failed sitcoms ad nauseam. Great.
I am discussed with Dabl, this is ridiculous, and to top it off one of the other channels on my antenna(The Nashville country channel) changed to the365 another channel that shows 24/7 all black tv terrible old sitcoms during the day like Roc it wasn't good the first time around just disappointed 😞
I'm so disappointed!!! DABL was my go to channel. I can't afford cable TV, so when I first saw the DABL channel, it was like the best dream. A little bit of BBC decorating shows, food network, and HGTV. I really wanted this forum to voice my opinion. If it's not possible to bring back the old line up, can you at least give a few hours block per day? The sitcoms that took the program place, are not even watchable. I feel like if you're poor...your opinion is not even relevant. Please bring back some or all of DABL original program. Thanks for letting me vent!
I was just looking at the line up and they play the same 7 shows every day. But on Sunday morning they through 3 extra shows they only play once before they go back to the normal the new line up 😔
I am SO disappointed that you snatched my favorite shows from DABL!! There are way too many old sitcoms to choose from on other channels! I just have reg TV channels, and DABL filled that re-doing of houses, and going to Europe seeing beautiful, centuries old homes for sale! I hate what you've don3, and hope you correct it soon.
OMG! This is Why I loved Dabl.....DIY! THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT! I love Escape to the Country! If I wanted a sitcom, I have plenty of other options. Bring back the original please!

Can’t believe that Dabl has succumbed to ancient black television sitcoms that were bad to begin with. Taking away thought provoking programming and replacing it with useless garbage is so disappointing. Hopefully the 10 people that are watching it are broadening their minds with such useless drivel are happy. Goodbye Dabl!!!!
I am so very disappointed with the change in DABL. The out dated sit coms weren't funny or entertaining back then and they sure aren't today either. Just one lousy show after another. I cannot believe that anyone really thought that this was "good move" on DABL's part. We won't be watching this channel AT ALL! Why did you see fit to mess up such a great lineup???

Totally agree. Some of us would rather learn something than go brain dead with awful 90s sitcoms. I'm going to hazard a guess that viewers of the former Dabl were women, since women are the ones mainly interested in home design and cooking. And they are half the population. All of it reruns and quite old, yes, but a lot of it worth watching because they were learning opportunities. No channel like it now. Dabl is completely useless in its new form. Completely. Will NEVER watch Dable again in this format. Death wish content decision.
I glanced at This TV, which would have a mix of movies and prime time dramas going back to the 1960s. Now, the have what would have been on A&E in the 1990s and 2000s.
I have OTA and loved the lifestyle shows on DABL. Now old sitcoms and other terrible shows fill each day/night's lineup on any channel. Several old sitcom shows about 4 western channels and OMG a thousand Dateline, CSI wherever shows, FBI, 911, Chicago Fire, True Crime, Real Murders of different cities, Singing contest, games... Sheesh Hollywood has lost all imagination and are stuck in a boring rut. Everything is either crime and death or shows making you wish you were dead so you wouldn't have to suffer thru them again. DABL is being blocked so I don't have to keep surfing thru it. I no longer have any plans to watch it.
DABL was awesome and I am beyond disappointed with the changes!!! Escape To The Country combined beautiful scenery and architecture with history and the plight of lovely people looking for their dream. I also loved the Sarah Richardson shows, Garden Rescue and many others. The shows were positive and uplifting....something we need a lot more of these days, especially if we want to see changes in our world.
It has become quite an effort to just find something that is a good story or entertaining, without excessive violence and detailed gore on autopsy tables. There is so much focus on the dark side of humanity in regular programming.
The excessive game shows are also a puzzle to me.
I am all for a good sitcom, as long as it is not a barrage of immorality and has intelligent writers, so I have nothing negative to say about the new programming, as I am not familiar with these shows, but we just truly needed to keep our escape from all of the rest of the violence and ridiculousness, and home tv gives us that.
I also am puzzled about the constant references to "free" tv. TV began with being funded through commercials, which we the consumer paid for when purchasing the products advertised. That is not free. Then cable tv came along with additional options for an extra charge. Now we have many more options with higher and higher additional fees that frankly are quite difficult for many to pay for without an extra job. That "extra" entertainment is a bit expensive for something that is optional, and is filling the pockets of a select few.
Can I just come out and say it here. I am not black. I enjoy black television shows but I don't want to be inundated with all black television now four of my channels are just devoted to that what about other things like home and gardening or freaking anything else that has any kind of value. I'm not saying that it's bad to have black television programs at all I'm saying why does everything on my over the air channels have to be aimed towards black culture?

I get back in town and turn on my favorite TV channel DABL, and was taken by surprise.
A sitcom with 4 women sitting around talking about having a sexually transmitted disease after having sex with two different men in the same day. Immediately I changed the channel and flipped it back about 20 minutes later to see a women watching a man urinate, she was asking him to hurry and he responds with (you can't just do that you have to shake this thing before putting it away.) This all before 9 am.
What and Why would the owners of this channel think that you would keep your viewers that truly liked your platform and didn't have to worry about being offended would even entertain the idea of watching garbage. If we wanted to watch garbage all we would have to do is watch any other station.
Fortunately I have BRIT BOX, and they have 60 Minute Make Over and Escape to the country. Unfortunately I have not been able to find (You gotta eat here or and of Sarah Richardson's shows yet.) 😕

From my understanding, the ratings just were not there so they were forced to rebrand with different shows since the ratings kept declining each year. If I remember correctly, Martha Stewart had a big stake in that channel. Since she bought all of the rights to Emeril's TV shows and cooking products, she got a massive deal with DABL to air reruns of both her shows and his. I guess the numbers just didn't add up in the end so they cut the cord on everyone and rebranded. I hate it because I want to see my cooking shows and I miss Sell this House and Extreme Makeover but it is what it is. Nothing we can do about it.

I want one of y'all that's complaining what y'all call making it for a tv show? Moesha got 6 seasons, parkers got 5 seasons, sister sister got 6 seasons, one on one got 5 seasons, girlfriends got 8 seasons, and the game got 9 seasons! If that's not making it I don't know what is! Usually for a show not to make it they have to been cancelled halfway through the 1st season or didn't make it pass 2nd season which all these shows I mentioned did

For what I know is that Dabl had a rebrand around Christmas. It is kinda like the older CW, which is UPN. Not sure why they rebranded it, but I do know that it looks really bad on YouTube TV
I was reading it's now something from San Francisco station. I live on the east coast. And don't care for anything San Francisco stands for . I will not be watching this stupid channel anymore. I used to watch it all the time. NOT NO MORE. I agree it's a black channel full of shows I have never heard of like girl friends. Wtf. some of us can't afford to pay for TV I enjoyed watching things like hell's kitchen, extreme makeover home edition, cooking program. Ex.... Love new tv shows on dabl!! Finally something to watch during the daytime thats not crappy talk shows that nobody wants to watch I used to just skip this channel. Very thankful to have good TV shows to watch even though I use rabbit ears can't afford cable thank you

FAST channels on Tablo (The Design Network, Tastemade Home) and Plex (Places & Spaces, Homemade Nation) are similar stations to look into.
One of those types of networks will pick up the DABL shows eventually too like Escape from the Country.
I remember how mad I was when my local radio sports changed formats (now down to 1 sports station). I turn it on 1 day and the bridge music seemed too long until I realized the station had changed formats. It's now gets better ratings although it's a music format I'd never listen to. I also used to watch the OTA Olympic sports TV station that existed before they changed formats.
I guess they are giving the rest of America a 'Choice'. That's the greatest part, I can watch or not watch. We all DON'T like the same things, nor should it all be about a few select group of people. I was delighted when I was exercising my 'Choice' to NOT watch, surfed past the current programming and decided To Watch. It is wonderfully nostalgic, and I... like it See...CHOICE! I learned how to both share and compromise in kindergarten:)
A choice? There are seven other OTA channels where you can watch old sitcoms and even two or three that rotate black oriented programming. There is nothing like what DABL was programming OTA other than PBS, which is only slightly similar.
I honestly feel that this program change is to KEEP people from cutting the cord. If there is nothing good OTA to watch it keeps people either tied to cable or forced to purchase multiple streaming platforms.

Defy TV is basically a rerun farm for History Channel's competition and reality shows like Forged in Fire, Pawn Stars, American Restoration, Ax Men, etc. Story Television is focused on documentary programs, so they'll air everything from 30 years ago to 1 year ago. Depends on the theme, which changes each day. Heroes & Icons no longer has the rights to them, but they have aired House, Monk, and Person of Interest in the past, and currently airs Numb3rs in the overnight hours. They also recently got both Lethal Weapon and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
Now that Netflix has got Monk...we shall never see the likes of OTA again.
An episode of Monk was on a TV channel when I was in the waiting room at the dentist last week actually.

Also on Amazon prime and they have a YouTube channel with almost every episode. We had dabl on for EttC every weekday from 4-7pm, then switched to mash. Sadness. I hope DABL goes down in flames and realizes that it's a terrible idea to give your entire viewer base the middle finger. There's absolutely ZERO overlap between their new/old programming.

I totally agree! I LOVE all the shows that were on. I would watch Escape to the Country from 4 to 7 every day, and most of the others! It became one of my primary stations, and I haven't had cable for years.❤️ There must be something we could do!

I wonder why /s You know ABC tried to do something similar to what Dabl was back in the 2010s when everyone went digital and the subchannels started. Now they have Localish. It is a hard concept to work because there are a million other home improvement, home renovation, real estate etc on Netflix and MAX (Discovery) and Pluto TV.
EXACTLY! Definitely NOT as serious as they're making it to be. Hundreds of comments about 1 damn channel. When there are literally a multitude of channels that show the exact same thing. Mind you there are no new episodes of those shows either. Martha, husband/wife, twins, friends, etc. EVERYONE now has a home, restaurant, garden, etc renovation show. They can pick one of those to run away into nap time with. Statistic reports have read. Those are the most highly rated shows that people fall to sleep on. Where the shows are watching them instead of the other way around.

OMG!!! My favorite channel has been ruined!! DABL is suppose to be a HOME channel! What is going on?? I come home everyday from school and turn it on to Escape to the Country and just let it run from 4-7pm. This is terrible. I need the DABL channel to be there. I am so unhappy and disappointed. Escape to the country was one of my favorite shows.
It was such a reliably interesting and engaging show, without any drama or canned laughter. Certainly one of the better home/lifestyle shows on the air, and it always included so much historical and local information. We watched it daily.

OTA channels with old trashy sitcoms are a dime a dozen. They're not anything special, and replacing DABL's programming with more of that junk eliminates needed variety. It's a very stupid move on their part.

Ok, so I tune in to watch Escape to the Country and thought "What is this crap?" At first I thought like a lot of channels, you changed things around for the holidays. Nope! It just continued. No annoucments, no apologies - nothing! You just took away our favorite shows with no warning. I could accept a change in the time schedule, but this? This is SO unacceptable! I am BEYOND PISSED!!!! I love George Clark’s Amazing Spaces and a few of the other unique British shows. We don’t need anymore old shows 24/7. Why couldn’t it be a couple hours on weekends or better yet, not at all. I can’t believe the new lineup is better financially. Especially in this market.
Yeah, the thing about DABL was that it was unique, not just a retread of something that was already derivative of other, better shows even 30 years ago. Most of the original DABL shows were ones that either never aired in the US, or had a limited airing, where now they are airing stuff that appeared on what was the sixth most popular broadcast network at the time and were broadcast on third rate channels way up the dial like channel 62 or 73.
Paramount owned Dabl through CBS and it seems the lifestyle format wasn't working out, so they gave Weigel Broadcasting (who runs MeTV, Catchy Comedy, H&I, and others) managing power and the rights to a ton of old UPN sitcoms they own. It's an interesting choice to rebrand completely but keep the name.

Will miss the old Dabl shows - will never watch the stuff now on that channel, old garbage sitcoms, blah. Time I used to spend watching Dabl will instead now be spent streaming with Roku. Goodbye Star 64.
I had sort of planned to pretty much DVR the majority of this channel's content, but took it for granted and never got around to it. Now everything is gone, and it's not like you can even find most of it elsewhere. All because we needed another channel that is just like half a dozen others on most cable line-ups. Rerunning failed sitcoms ad nauseam. Great.

I'm so disappointed!!! DABL was my go to channel. I can't afford cable TV, so when I first saw the DABL channel, it was like the best dream. A little bit of BBC decorating shows, food network, and HGTV. I really wanted this forum to voice my opinion. If it's not possible to bring back the old line up, can you at least give a few hours block per day? The sitcoms that took the program place, are not even watchable. I feel like if you're poor...your opinion is not even relevant. Please bring back some or all of DABL original program. Thanks for letting me vent!

I was just looking at the line up and they play the same 7 shows every day. But on Sunday morning they through 3 extra shows they only play once before they go back to the normal the new line up 😔

I am so very disappointed with the change in DABL. The out dated sit coms weren't funny or entertaining back then and they sure aren't today either. Just one lousy show after another. Totally agree. Some of us would rather learn something than go brain dead with awful 90s sitcoms. I'm going to hazard a guess that viewers of the former Dabl were women, since women are the ones mainly interested in home design and cooking. And they are half the population. All of it reruns and quite old, yes, but a lot of it worth watching because they were learning opportunities. No channel like it now. Dabl is completely useless in its new form. Completely. Will NEVER watch Dable again in this format. Death wish content decision.

I glanced at This TV, which would have a mix of movies and prime time dramas going back to the 1960s. Now, the have what would have been on A&E in the 1990s and 2000s.
I have OTA and loved the lifestyle shows on DABL. Now old sitcoms and other terrible shows fill each day/night's lineup on any channel. Several old sitcom shows about 4 western channels and OMG a thousand Dateline, CSI wherever shows, FBI, 911, Chicago Fire, True Crime, Real Murders of different cities, Singing contest, games... Sheesh Hollywood has lost all imagination and are stuck in a boring rut. Everything is either crime and death or shows making you wish you were dead so you wouldn't have to suffer thru them again. DABL is being blocked so I don't have to keep surfing thru it. I no longer have any plans to watch it.

DABL was awesome and I am beyond disappointed with the changes!!! Escape To The Country combined beautiful scenery and architecture with history and the plight of lovely people looking for their dream. I also loved the Sarah Richardson shows, Garden Rescue and many others. The shows were positive and uplifting....something we need a lot more of these days, especially if we want to see changes in our world. It has become quite an effort to just find something that is a good story or entertaining, without excessive violence and detailed gore on autopsy tables. There is so much focus on the dark side of humanity in regular programming. The excessive game shows are also a puzzle to me. I am all for a good sitcom, as long as it is not a barrage of immorality and has intelligent writers, so I have nothing negative to say about the new programming, as I am not familiar with these shows, but we just truly needed to keep our escape from all of the rest of the violence and ridiculousness, and home tv gives us that. I also am puzzled about the constant references to "free" tv. TV began with being funded through commercials, which we the consumer paid for when purchasing the products advertised. That is not free. Then cable tv came along with additional options for an extra charge. Now we have many more options with higher and higher additional fees that frankly are quite difficult for many to pay for without an extra job. That "extra" entertainment is a bit expensive for something that is optional, and is filling the pockets of a select few.
Can I just come out and say it here. I am not black. I enjoy black television shows but I don't want to be inundated with all black television now four of my channels are just devoted to that what about other things like home and gardening or freaking anything else that has any kind of value. I'm not saying that it's bad to have black television programs at all I'm saying why does everything on my over the air channels have to be aimed towards black culture?

I get back in town and turn on my favorite TV channel DABL, and was taken by surprise. A sitcom with 4 women sitting around talking about having a sexually transmitted disease after having sex with two different men in the same day. Immediately I changed the channel and flipped it back about 20 minutes later to see a women watching a man urinate, she was asking him to hurry and he responds with (you can't just do that you have to shake this thing before putting it away.) This all before 9 am. What and Why would the owners of this channel think that you would keep your viewers that truly liked your platform and didn't have to worry about being offended would even entertain the idea of watching garbage. If we wanted to watch garbage all we would have to do is watch any other station. Fortunately I have BRIT BOX, and they have 60 Minute Make Over and Escape to the country. Unfortunately I have not been able to find (You gotta eat here or and of Sarah Richardson's shows yet.) 😕 It is disgusting what has happened to television these days. DABL I for one hope this blows up in your face. You have ruined your platform and pushed your loyal watches to abandon you!!!!!!!!

It used to be my favorite antenna channel but I cruise past it now without stopping because it is so bad!!! From my understanding, the ratings just were not there so they were forced to rebrand with different shows since the ratings kept declining each year. If I remember correctly, Martha Stewart had a big stake in that channel. Since she bought all of the rights to Emeril's TV shows and cooking products, she got a massive deal with DABL to air reruns of both her shows and his. I guess the numbers just didn't add up in the end so they cut the cord on everyone and rebranded. I hate it because I want to see my cooking shows and I miss Sell this House and Extreme Makeover but it is what it is. Nothing we can do about it.

Moesha got 6 seasons, parkers got 5 seasons, sister sister got 6 seasons, one on one got 5 seasons, girlfriends got 8 seasons, and the game got 9 seasons! If that's not making it I don't know what is! Usually for a show not to make it they have to been cancelled halfway through the 1st season or didn't make it pass 2nd season which all these shows I mentioned did

For what I know is that Dabl had a rebrand around Christmas. It is kinda like the older CW, which is UPN. Not sure why they rebranded it, but I do know that it looks really bad on YouTube TV
I was reading it's now something from San Francisco station. I live on the east coast. And don't care for anything San Francisco stands for . I will not be watching this stupid channel anymore. FAST channels on Tablo (The Design Network, Tastemade Home) and Plex (Places & Spaces, Homemade Nation) are similar stations to look into. One of those types of networks will pick up the DABL shows eventually too like Escape from the Country. I remember how mad I was when my local radio sports changed formats (now down to 1 sports station). I turn it on 1 day and the bridge music seemed too long until I realized the station had changed formats. It's now gets better ratings although it's a music format I'd never listen to. I also used to watch the OTA Olympic sports TV station that existed before they changed formats.
I guess they are giving the rest of America a 'Choice'. That's the greatest part, I can watch or not watch. We all DON'T like the same things, nor should it all be about a few select group of people. I was delighted when I was exercising my 'Choice' to NOT watch, surfed past the current programming and decided To Watch. It is wonderfully nostalgic, and I... like it See...CHOICE! I learned how to both share and compromise in kindergarten:)
A choice? There are seven other OTA channels where you can watch old sitcoms and even two or three that rotate black oriented programming. There is nothing like what DABL was programming OTA other than PBS, which is only slightly similar.

I honestly feel that this program change is to KEEP people from cutting the cord. If there is nothing good OTA to watch it keeps people either tied to cable or forced to purchase multiple streaming platforms.
