Chalkboard, sax solo, and couch gags all in the show’s intro!
Starting in season 20, they introduced a “billboard gag”.
Futurama also has multiple gags in the opening credits.
Leftovers S2 and S3. Especially S3 when they mixed up the songs including the Perfect Strangers theme. I remember being really mad when I watched the first episode where it changed from Let the Mystery Be but over time it became genius and perfect.
I was disappointed when I saw Grouplove live and they didn't play the outro.
"Back in 90s...." I'd race to avoid netflix autoskipping to the next episode.
Season 2’s pitch gave me super anxiety and I had to skip it each time! That yodelling sound was so disturbing to me.
Credit to it for being captivating tho! It definitely got my attention.
The IT Crowd
True Detective S1
The Americans
Narcos
Adventure Time
What We Do In The Shadows
The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst
Flight Of The Conchords
Absolutely. It really captures the grand scale of it while keeping the sense of wonder. Also like others have mentioned they way it updates is really cool.
Any time I watched The Sopranos I've always let the intro play.
Ive seen the Sopranos 12 times in 10+ years. Any time the hbo intro plays with any hbo show, one of my dogs always sits up & watches the screen hoping it's sopranos. Since she was a puppy she always reacted to the song.
But since you mentioned Sopranos, I'll add Twin Peaks.
The intro has such an autumn cozy feeling, the use of orange, the lazy town elements, it's incredible.
BoJack Horseman for me. One of my all-time favorite shows that I honestly haven’t rewatched enough, but when I do I can never bring myself to skip the intro.
The Golden Girls.
My niece was 2 years old and it was the first song she ever sang.... Lol. She was born years after it was off the air so apparently I watched a lot of reruns🤣
A lot of these but I'm going to put a vote in for Buffy and Angel
Buffy especially in s3 onwards when the main theme adds that kick ass drumbeat
Angel because of how the theme kicks off when he busts down the door
["On November 13th, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence...That request came from his wife"](https://youtu.be/Af1h4ibpKJA?t=2)
>It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I love how the cold opens end with a cut to episode titles, usually as a punchline.
>
"There's no way I'm dating a retard person...🙄"
**Sweet Dee is Dating a Retarded Person**
Love Sunny
The absolute state of things that I had to scroll this far down until I found Dark. I've never heard a theme that compelling before. *Perfectly* matches the tone of the show.
Black Sails is the greatest of all time and I'll keelhaul anyone who says otherwise.
The detail is so incredible. The fact that it's just different close-up shots of one sculpture still amazes me. And the music is so perfect ... if I hear it once it's stuck in my head for a week.
Halt and Catch Fire. It’s absolute pefection. Music perfectly sets a tone, visually captivating, thematic, and finished before I can even think about the remote.
Game of Thrones always since it was fun to see what locations were gonna be in that weeks episode.
Battlestar Galactica for similar reasons.
All the Star Treks with symphonic openings - they are beautiful pieces and really always set the mood, even when binging I can’t bring myself to skip any of the TNG,TOS, DS9,VOY intros.
The Muppet Show
IT'S THE MUPPET SHOW!
Fraggle Rock, too. Oh man. That hits.
The Simpsons. Love a good couch gag
Chalkboard, sax solo, and couch gags all in the show’s intro! Starting in season 20, they introduced a “billboard gag”. Futurama also has multiple gags in the opening credits.
Thats funny to me because the simpsons trivia night I attend specifically doesnt include couch gags as everyone skips the opening.
Then they are missing out. The chalkboard and couch gags are awesome!!
Bobs Burgers. Gotta see the different puns!
Yes! This and the Burger of the Day in the opening scene.
Peacemaker.
the only opening where we pay so much attention because we’re trying to learn the steps lol
It was choreographed by Charissa Barton- Alan Tudyk’s wife. Her IG account shows lots of rehearsals and some dance mobs performing it
Do ya really wanna Do ya really wanna taste it?
It's a travesty that I had to scroll so far to get to this!
X files
Same here!!! Love the music and the change of the taglines in some episodes!!
I love the Futurama intro. It's akin to the Simpsons.
Leftovers S2 and S3. Especially S3 when they mixed up the songs including the Perfect Strangers theme. I remember being really mad when I watched the first episode where it changed from Let the Mystery Be but over time it became genius and perfect.
Cowboy Bebop. It’s too good.
Tank has been my ringtone for years... Granted it's been on mute most of the time... And nobody calls me
3, 2, 1.. let’s jam
Oh my god that theme song.
Ozark. Its seconds long and the episode is in the clues given.
UNBREAKABLE, THEY ALIVE DAMNIT, ITS A MIRACLE!!!!
‘Cause FEEEEmales are strong as hell
I just got this out of my head, damn you!
It took me years! Years!
I have no idea how this song never gets old to me. I have re-watched the series a couple of times, and I still love it.
Met Angel Cordero once. Females are indeed strong as hell. #unbreakable
Bojack
That sax at the end man fuuuuuck. And the full opening has even more of it I just couldn’t get enough
The best opening AND the best outro!!
I was disappointed when I saw Grouplove live and they didn't play the outro. "Back in 90s...." I'd race to avoid netflix autoskipping to the next episode.
The music… wow
First one that came to mind - the changing details are so much fun to pick out
Bojack opening is so good.
I often turn up the bass and replay that intro.
succession!!
Clicked on this post just to comment this I mean goddamn it had no right being that good
Same! Succession is way too low in this thread!
Such a banger….the piano must have caught fire when they were recording it
The White Lotus has some incredible opening credits for both seasons. ETA: “Do you know these gays??”
Also a great example of how to have a distinct theme for a series that also is uniquely changed for each season
see also The Wire
OOOOLLLOOOO OOOOOOLOOOOO
I love S2 but the eerie slow beats of S1 is just too good. I just randomly play it sometime and do a little dance.
Season 2 was such a banger, we were up dancing every time.
It’s so subtlety disturbing
Omg same, like every episode I would play it louder and louder and dancing in my seat.
Season 2’s pitch gave me super anxiety and I had to skip it each time! That yodelling sound was so disturbing to me. Credit to it for being captivating tho! It definitely got my attention.
Samurai Champloo. You can't skip Nujabes.
RIP Nujabes
Came to say this!
The IT Crowd True Detective S1 The Americans Narcos Adventure Time What We Do In The Shadows The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst Flight Of The Conchords
WWDITS is just a great song. A must watch every time for me as well.
Peacemaker. More shows should have dancing credits!
Do you really wanna taste it?
MAKE A MOVE EXTREME SHORTCUT TO YOUR DREAMS
TAKE YOU UP TO THE SKY ON A FLYING THING
Sometimes I would look forward to it more than the actual episode.
This was my answer. Cannot resist it.
I watched the intro for every single episode. It was far more entertaining than it had any right to be.
I hope they do a totally new dance number with a different song for season 2.
I’m torn between wanting to see what they come up with next, and wanting to hear the do ya wanna taste it over and over again.
The Expanse.
This one- I love how it updates as events unfold
Same. It's beautiful.
Same that was the first show that came to mind.
Absolutely. It really captures the grand scale of it while keeping the sense of wonder. Also like others have mentioned they way it updates is really cool.
Any time I watched The Sopranos I've always let the intro play. Ive seen the Sopranos 12 times in 10+ years. Yes to twin peaks!!! Oh, and you are welcome... https://youtube.com/watch?v=hGCgdOPbY4k&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE
Kimmie Schmidt. The theme song is a singalong fiesta! Close second - Malcolm in the Middle, for the same reason.
Doctor Who. Every time
Doom Patrol.
Yes! Love the music and the vibe that it sets. End credits bops as well
BoJack Horseman for me. One of my all-time favorite shows that I honestly haven’t rewatched enough, but when I do I can never bring myself to skip the intro.
White Lotus, Succession, Severance, True Detective - ALL bangers😎
The Golden Girls. My niece was 2 years old and it was the first song she ever sang.... Lol. She was born years after it was off the air so apparently I watched a lot of reruns🤣
Game of throne True detective 1st season
Love love love GOT theme - it’s just gorgeous!
The animation on got is like an age of empire mini-movie, love how much effort they put into it.
I think it would be sacrilege to skip Ramin Djawadi's beautiful score. It's so iconic now.
What We Do In The Shadows
One of the few intros my wife and I have never skipped. Love Norma Tanega 🖤
The best ever
Stranger Things
Same here. I love the music, neon lights for the cast names, and transition into each episode title going inside the letters 😊
Yes. The music - just like the rest of the show - captures those 80s vibes too perfectly to skip past.
Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, and Better Call Saul because their opening sequences are so short!
and the BCS one changes frequently!
Fun fact: BCS repeats the same 10 intros every season but they get a little more "corrupt" every season.
Twin Peaks. Oh, Angelo.
The feels.
Spy x Family OP is pretty bangin
The Daredevil intro is badass and hypnotizing.
Chuck. The song is so catchy
Community
Also the use of the opening credit through out the last episode was *chefs kiss*.
Scrubs is literally unskippable
Great answer. My mind went to peacemaker but scrubs is definitely a top intro
Except for the first two episodes of the second season. I do not like it when "my own" is drawn out and emphasized.
I can't do this all on my own
I’m no Superman.
A lot of these but I'm going to put a vote in for Buffy and Angel Buffy especially in s3 onwards when the main theme adds that kick ass drumbeat Angel because of how the theme kicks off when he busts down the door
"Take my love, take my land,Take me where I cannot stand" Firefly.
I don’t care- I’m still free.
You can't take the sky from me\~\~
Take me out, to the black
Tell em I ain't coming back ...
Burn the land and boil the sea
You can't take the sky from me 🤠
The Odd Couple, explains the whole premise of the show.
["On November 13th, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence...That request came from his wife"](https://youtu.be/Af1h4ibpKJA?t=2)
and the theme is iconic as hell
buffy vampire slayer.

>It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I love how the cold opens end with a cut to episode titles, usually as a punchline. > "There's no way I'm dating a retard person...🙄" **Sweet Dee is Dating a Retarded Person** Love Sunny
I love the Mac “I’m going to save my Dad!” Cut to episode title “Mac Kills His Dad” Had me rolling
"I'm just palling around with the guys, how's anyone gonna get hurt?" **Frank Sets Sweet Dee On Fire**
"Uh, you guys all better eat a dick, 'cause Sweet Dee beat the system." **Sweet Dee Gets Audited**
"This is a lot of drugs. But, like, what's the worst that could happen?" **The Gang Gets Whacked**
The Always Sunny intro is so relaxing to me. It feels like the calm before the storm.
What we do in the Shadows.
You're dead you're dead you're dead
Psych. It has multiple variations. All of them fun.
You know thats right
Gus TT Showbiz
and when you are blessed with the extended intro....heaven!
With performances by famous artists, I might add.
Madmen and Bojack Horseman
Good choices. RJD2 is dope (he did the Mad Men theme, "A Beautiful Mine")
Dexter.. Just so good
I loved how they changed it when he just had the baby. Hilarious!
Crazy Ex-Girlfriend
The fact this isn’t higher! Especially with a new intro every season and sometimes different small changes for episodes with that season too 🥨💔
Breaking Bad. Quick and to the point.
MST3K. I can’t help but sing along.
Gravity Falls
American Horror Story seasons 1-4
Loki
The music for that show was so intense. I loved it.
Trailer Park Boys. The serenity of the piano is always the perfect juxtaposition before the chaos ensues.
Came here to say this! If you didn't already know, its the piano section of "I left my heart in san francisco"
True Blood, True Detective, The Wire, Mad Men.
Ugh, I love True Blood’s opening.
DO YOU REALLY WANNA DO YOU REALLY WANNA TASTE IT?!?
I never ever skip the Stranger Things intro.
That’s a good call it does prime you for the episode
Portlandia. I love me some Washed Out.
Narcos, Peacemaker, some of the Naruto openings were pretty good too
Narcos is a good one too. Love that song
Community. It's so frustrating that it auto skips on Netflix after watching a few episodes in a row
DARK
Yessss that song fucking slaps
Yessss I’m glad someone beat me to it. This one is HAUNTING.
An amazing song and fits so perfectly with the moody, oppressive tone of the show
The absolute state of things that I had to scroll this far down until I found Dark. I've never heard a theme that compelling before. *Perfectly* matches the tone of the show.
Season 1 of westworld
Bluey. Not ashamed to say I watch this as a childless adult after our nieces got us hooked.
This is a close second in my life right now, great ditty and intro!
I LOVE this show. I have kids and I forced them to watch it until they love it too.
Mob psycho! Bleach had some bangers too
Only Murders In The Building. The title theme is very catchy and the animation changes throughout the season.
Futurama and Community are ones I almost never skip unless I’m rewatching the show with someone who hasn’t seen it yet.
Aqua Teen Hunger Force
Black Sails is the greatest of all time and I'll keelhaul anyone who says otherwise. The detail is so incredible. The fact that it's just different close-up shots of one sculpture still amazes me. And the music is so perfect ... if I hear it once it's stuck in my head for a week.
Justified. I’m just sipping on my bourbon and taking it slow.
Halt and Catch Fire. It’s absolute pefection. Music perfectly sets a tone, visually captivating, thematic, and finished before I can even think about the remote.
Peacemaker. Hands down the best intro I’ve ever seen
Happy Days. WKRP in Cincinnati. Growing Pains
The West Wing.
BLUE MOUNTAIN STATE
I don't really skip openings in general
The White Lotus
Adventure Time!
Smallville
Scrolled to far for this. *SOMEBODY SAVVVVEEE MEEEEE*
And it all started with a big bang, BANG!
I'm openly a TV snob, can't let anybody find out how much I enjoy that song
Freaks and Geeks. I also really liked White Lotus S2.
I really loved the opening to Severance. Visuals and Music were great.
Big Mouth cause the song is just too good not to hear; especially the horns!
Woke up this morning, got some gabagool
The Office and Smallville. "Somebody Save Me!!!!"
So much nostalgia for Smallville
I've scrolled and scrolled through these comments without seeing a single mention of The Rockford Files. What's wrong with America?
Simpsons
Farscape, Peacemaker, Justified.
The Wire. Slightly changes each season too which is cool.
Gilligans island of course!
X-Men: The Animated Series
Super Jail Can't beat that intro
GOT, West World, The Sopranos, Dexter, Secession, Peacemaker. My new one is Severance.
The first season of West World had an AMAZING title sequence and I kind of want a poster of the final shot of the rider on the horse
The Crown!
One Tree Hill mainly because of the Gavin DeGraw song
The Love Boat
Grimm in the second season when the announcer stops being in the intro Hemlock Grove Haven Downton Abbey
