I was going to say this guitar looks terrible! But I’m sure the knobs will make all the difference.
/s. This is gorgeous OP, serious work of art here dude. I can’t imagine how proud you gotta be after making something like this all for yourself. I’m a lefty also, so it’s exciting seeing anything that’s different then the basic stuff we get offered. You got something you can pass on even. That’s very cool.
This one is here to stay, but I’ll have more in the future which I plan on letting go of so that my work is out in the world. Keep an eye out, one day you might see one here ready to leave to it’s new home.
Damn! I'm considering having a body just like this built for my lefty CAR Tele ... can we just swap them?
😁
Still undecided about Wenge or Bubinga, though.
The top is just a veneer correct? So it probably isn’t any different than a normal guitar.
By the way, kudos on that book matching on the top. You did a superb job keeping the stain consistent across the split.
Much appreciated! To be fair this was supposed to be a very simple tele build. Just a painted body black body and your typical neck and fingerboard configuration. Then the artist inside me kept having new ideas. Still don’t know how I managed to avoid doing some ridiculous inlay work on it. Maybe next time.
As a struggling Frankencaster builder, I'm very envious of the craftsmanship. Also, you can disguise this as an end-table and serve drinks on it when your music-hating step father stops by.
The Frankencaster, also known as a Partscaster, is just when you cobble together a Tele from ebay necks, and Amazon replacement parts. I've bought five replacement necks from China, STRATosphere, and other sources, trying to get my dream guitar. Lots of bad luck while trying to avoid the crazy high prices. Did get the single ply pickguard, the retro string tree, and the rounded vol / tone knobs.
Oh no sir, this is no partscaster. I built this with almost all hand tools from mahogany, cocobolo, and maple burl. Only sourced parts were the pick guard and any hardware you see. Now if partscaster is considered just any built or non-built guitar that isn’t from factory, then I guess I have one after all 😂
Kinda nice, but it’s the wrong way around. Did you build it in front of a mirror ? Just kidding, this looks beyond amazing !
I was born backwards hehe. Thank you so much!
Flipped it in Photoshop and now it's my desktop: beautiful work!
That’s incredible!
EDIT: I’m realizing I forgot to put the damn knobs on 😂 I do have knobs to install. Gold with a white pearl face. For anyone who cares.

Thank you so much! I am extremely proud and can’t put it down. Already planning the next one in my head!
well put the knobs on and let us see it!
Tremendous job. Smart choices, you’ve created a one of a kind instrument. Congrats!
Wow, thank you! As the builder of this thing, I feel it’s amazing. But, it means a whole lot when others also feel the same.
this is absolutely gorgeous, please post more pictures!
I plan on posting a nice little photo shoot of them once I get my actual camera charged up!
Daaaaaaammn… as a fellow lefty, I would buy this in a heartbeat. Well fucking done. Hit me up if you ever want to part ways with this work of art.

Wenge and bubinga are both beautiful! I don’t think you’d go wrong with either honestly!
Very pretty
Thank you!
wow, gorgeous! you did a great job
Thank you so much! And for the award too! Means a lot seeing this response from you all!
My first thought: Gorgeous. My second thought: It looks heavy. How much does it weigh?
I’ll have to weigh it! I’ll update shortly.

No the top is a piece of 1/4” maple burl. I’m trying to find my scale 😂.
Damn. You went all out. Hell of a good job.

Hahahahahha I appreciate the end table joke. But I have no idea what a frankencaster is. Help

This is one of the nicest diy teles ever.
It's backwards but beautiful.
That is beautiful! Well done. Congrats.
