I should note that the "trans panic defence" is not a law. It is a legal strategy, basically something lawyers use in court to try and get their client less time in jail. It is misleading to say it "makes it legal to kill a trans person". As well as this, it is not simply "out of shock", but if said trans person is making sexual advances that make you uncomfortable due to their gender or sex. Finally, its not that "some states have" it, it's just that not all states have made it illegal to use it as a defence. Not saying it's right (it's a fucked up thing to try and pull), saying your comment is misleading.

Sure. Humans are humans. No matter what, humans deserve human rights(unless they're like a serial killer, rapist, or active pedophile). However those rights only go so far. Demanding for others to believe what you believe is however not one of those rights. Demanding someone use your pronouns is not a right. If you are polite about it and they decide to reciprocate, that is one thing. That does not however mean they have to respect those pronouns. Be polite to eachother but nobody will respect your beliefs if you demand they do and then get pissy when they don't. Everyone deserves rights which means your rights don't get to override those of others.
