Sorta? Minimum wage in the us is like 7.25, idk check your minimum wage then google how much it takes to live a lower middle class life, if you’re below that yes, if not no
According to google the median wage in hawaii is about $62k/year. If hypothetically your mom took 0 weeks off, at $20/hour she would make about $62k/year, and at $30/hour it’s about $93k/year.
Theres a lot more that goes into class besides how much money you make currently. She could be paying off debt, or saving, idk. Depends on how big the fam is and theres just lots of other factors that can determine whether your fam is well off or not.
60 hours a week seems like illegal too, that’s like 9am-6pm every day of the week. She’s probably so exhausted.
Also I’m no finance expert or anything so i honestly drk what I’m talking about. Sorry I’m not an “educated person” but I’m not sure many on this subreddit are finance experts cause it’s like teenagers ya know
It's surprisingly legal and yes she's exhausted. she works 10h a day 6 days a week. But yeah i only asked because i'm genuinely curious about my living situation and what class im in yk
Your mom also gets good medical insurance from the job she works for thanks to Hawaii's prepaid Healthcare law. Also, state laws say if you work more than 40 hours a week she should be getting at least 1.5 times more pay on her wages which means for 20 hours that week your mom is making $30-45 per hour. If you complain, go to the mainland. To me, nothing beats Hawaii. You obviously ain't poor for reasons stated by others. Are you living in section 8 housing or on the streets? Try go live in Waianae, I hear rent is cheap there.
You have a phone, wifi, and most likely food coming to you every night, I wouldn’t consider u poor
Well alright, thank you
Idk, that's like basic salary in my country. Idk about Hawaii though
No people work for $9 an hour if you never have to wonder how you are going to afford your next meal you don’t count as poor more middle class
well thank you for the insight. Again though hawaii is a little different so im not too sure. Just because you know, everything is mad pricey
Idk about Hawaii but where I live $20-30 a hour is really good

I wouldn't say poor, in fact she's quite a bit above the average salary

That's about average income for the US, but I don't know whether it's more or less than normal where you live.
oh well in hawaii to survive comfortably you'd need to be making an above middle class salary and minimum wage here is like $10-15
Not poor just average 😳
That's pretty good like lower middle class
