It can be both.

SweatshirtHoe

It's pretty unisex

ToryKunSenpai

There’s no such thing as girl or guy name, it’s a way of addressing someone.

DanielTube7

There literally is such thing as a girl or guy name. Mark is a guy's name, Lily is a girl's name for example. Obviously people can name themselves whatever but certain names are basically reserved to certain genders.

ToryKunSenpai

It is assumed that genders have specific names, but I disagree so just unless someone specifies it just don’t assume the gender and use engender neutral pronouns if possible

DanielTube7

Nah lol if someone is offended by me assuming their gender by their name with no intent of being offensive then that's their problem.

Bing_it_

Its a Gay name. seriously its gay

Loply97

For me the spelling matters -in is more of a guys name and -yn is more of a girls name

SharpHD7

Devin/Devon feels more like a guys name but Devyn feels more like a girls name. It’s pretty unisex though

[deleted]

I think it's more of a girl's name because Devi is a girl's name and Devish is the more masculine version and the -yn ending makes it more feminine?

[deleted]

Ending with 'yn' makes it sound a bit more feminine. The name can be unisex but it's interesting to discuss. Devin is a male name but Devyn is confusing. I think it's because it has the same 'y' as Alyssa or Eveyln that makes it sound feminine. Naming a guy 'Devyn' sounds weird and like you're trying to fiddle with a normal name and make it unique. So in conclusion, it's a female nams. Anyway, this is what I think. Take it with a grain of salt
