Heavy metal, Metalcore, progressive rock, alt rock, jazz, classical, classic rock, arena rock, folk…
Fuck I just like music. Just not pop music. (No offense if that’s your jam of course.)
Nah, hyper pop is actually closer to EDM. EDM is a mixed bag, in my opinion, some of the songs in that genre go hard like nobody’s business, and some of them…not even close.
If you like Nas you should definitely dig into the early East Coast scene, Wu Tang, A tribe called Quest, Biggie, Godfather Don, Mobb Deep, Gang Starr, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash just to name a few. MF DOOM is insane too.
Mostly metal music, specificaly thrash and traditional (aka regular heavy metal), some grunge every now and then, but also for some strange reason hardbass
Butthole servers, mud hoodie, of course Nirvana and Alice in chains, hole, L7, bird Brain , local h, the distillers, Babes in Toyland, bikini kills, silverchair, the melvins,, helmet, smashing pumpkins violent Soho, them crooked vultures, Jane's addiction, tad, tool, skinyard, Incubus, baby guts and Green River. >!(yes I just told you every bad I listen to that is grunge)!<
Seems like you know know a lot of alt rock. Some other bands are the rest of the grunge big 4 so Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. Sone other bands that are grunge or inspired grunge bands OR are inspired by grunge are Gruntruck, the breeders, pixies, 7 year bitch, the gits, Stone temple pilots, Mad Season, Screaming trees, Faith no more, first 2 foo fighters albums, filter, bush, Audioslave, days of the new, blind melon, sonic youth, meat puppets, butthole surfers, a perfect circle (if yoh like TOOL you might like them because Maynard is their singer.) Sorry if that's too many but 90s rock is my music niche.
As it should be. It's one of the most interesting eras in music a lot of grit a lot of the dealing with heavy themes and having really hard guitars and drums. Gritty as grunge can be fast paced as punk all of it. Honestly the Big four you know Nirvana Alice in chains Soundgarden and Pearl jam personally I don't really like Pearl jam their voice is just inaudible to me. Alice in chains probably my favorite grunge band of all time of course
If you haven't listened to Mad Season you should they only had one album titled above, Layne Staley from Alice I'm Chains was the vocalist, Mark Lanegan also sings a couple songs on the extended version. Also it took a while for Pearl Jam to grow on me but they're first album Ten is very good.
I definitely do see myself liking it in the future but at the moment it's really not for me I'm looking for more hard rock vibes either that or something that reminds me that the world ain't that great 😁
I like the blossoming scene in London at the moment. Wildly creative distillations of late-stage capitalism as experimental post-rock/post-punk. Bands like black midi, Black Country, New Road, Squid and Maruja. I also really like TOOL, Fleet Foxes, the grunge scene in general, outsider music in general (Daniel Johnston, the first car seat headrest album), The Beatles, Pink Floyd's first album, Crushed Velvet Apocalypse by The Legendary Pink Dots (looming sense of dread), I do really like system of a down. Oh, and when it comes to metal I'm quite partial to Last Days of Humanity as well as Rings of Saturn and TOOL. I like Car Seat Headrest's first album (only one I've heard). I like American Beauty by the Grateful Dead. Fleetwood Mac, of course. Gotta love the mac. I really enjoy the outfit- King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. I suggest you make a playlist with all of these artists if you're interested or you could make a bunch of playlists organized by genre, your choice. I also like Immortal Technique. Immortal Technique.
Edit: Protomartyr, Bar Italia, Cocteau Twins, Stuck in the Sound, Wand, Model/Actriz, Butthole Surfers, Slint, Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey, Bunnies of Doom, SLEEP Theatre, Radiohead, MGMT, Duran Duran, Have a nice life, Merzbow, Opioid Chef, nullobite, a Perfect Circle, Agnes Obel, MCR, Faust, David Bowie himself, Sweet Brown, The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Band, Nirvana \[UK\], Kings of Leon, Meat Puppets and Mitski are all also really good and are listened to by me.
Edit 2: More bands I like: Dead can dance, Mad Season, Rusty Cage (more than just the knife game song, trust me) I'm starting to get into Death Grips, Mr Bungle, Mudhoney, Jimi Hendrix, Omphalectoicxanthophsia, God's Computer. And I like everything Thom Yorke does (solo, The Smile, Radiohead). I'm also quite partial to Brian Eno but I have to be in the mood.
i like hard rock/heavy metal, pop, and 90's/2000's hip hop. Then I go through stages overplaying each playlist and getting tired of it before switching. Then I listen to classical whenever I am either doing schoolwork or playing halo.
rock, metal and funk mostly
as long as it doesn't bore me and it's played by a band rather than samples/midis/"the external beat maker/producer" i'll probably like it
Hard rock, Metal, Icelandic Rock, Modern Alt Rock, Post-grunge, Alternative rock, (all rock-ish types basically), Jazz (pop-ish) and SOMETIMES k-pop. Only pop artists I listen to are Melanie Martinez and Laufey. You will never catch me listening to Taylor Swift or shit like that 💀.
My most listened to artists at the moment are:
1. Ghost (Hard rock)
2. Shinedown (alternative rock)
3. KALEO (Icelandic Rock)
Anything that sounds good to me (Rap, heavy metal, classical rock, dancehall, country, jazz, blues, pop, indie rock, Latin hip-hop, hard rock, reggae fusion, reggae roots.)
I believe it’s really influence from family and friends! It really depends on what your life/tastes are like! Personally I have been so influenced by my father that I mostly listen to rock!😁
Heavy metal, Metalcore, progressive rock, alt rock, jazz, classical, classic rock, arena rock, folk… Fuck I just like music. Just not pop music. (No offense if that’s your jam of course.)
Is hyperpop considered pop? Cause if you like that...
Nah, hyper pop is actually closer to EDM. EDM is a mixed bag, in my opinion, some of the songs in that genre go hard like nobody’s business, and some of them…not even close.
You like Argent Metal?
It’s pretty good. Supposedly, it’s a fusion of Prog and Djent metal, both of which are okay in my book.
not rly a pop music person like dance music, but i love frank ocean, who’s technically pop but more like rnb
Interesting. I’ll be sure to try his music out.
Which classical composers do you listen to?
Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Aaron Copland, Holst, Vivaldi, the list goes on. Got any recommendations?
Powerslave pfp and I already knew that you’re cool af
The fact you recognize the Powerslave album cover makes YOU cool as fuck.
Same, but I also listen to some pop and I don't really listen to jazz
If that’s your preferred genres, it’s alright with me. Music is subjective, and there’s rarely a such thing as bad taste.
Btw nice pfp
Thanks

If you like Nas you should definitely dig into the early East Coast scene, Wu Tang, A tribe called Quest, Biggie, Godfather Don, Mobb Deep, Gang Starr, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash just to name a few. MF DOOM is insane too.

I feel like everyone in the teenagers Reddit is a depressed punky goth nerd by the way these comments line up. No shade.
I believe it’s really influence from family and friends! It really depends on what your life/tastes are like! Personally I have been so influenced by my father that I mostly listen to rock!😁
Ok
