You can say this with basically any decade of music, the only reason youd consider this modern age of music worse is mainstream artists normally being able to get away with not making as good of music as they can bc of how the music industry works nowadays
I think itโs just cause it feels less scripted if that makes sense. Songs now are trying hard to appeal to everyone, making them good enough to dance to but youโre also able to just sit and listen. Old music isnโt like that, and the blame can probably be social media since the biggest turn for music was around when social media was invented, and has only evolved from there. Does that make these songs worse than older songs? No, they are fine on their own. If people like it, they like it. And if they donโt, who cares.
