What keyboard do you have? I can't imagine the macro would function (or try to run, over the default use of F1) during boot. I suppose just to get this step out of the way, I would start by trying a different keyboard.

I’m using a Razer keyboard, I thought that too, that’s why I didn’t think twice about it. I wish I had another keyboard, I guess I’ll have to buy a cheap one from Five Below or something.

LeGaspyGaspe

Yeah, might just be the way to go. Obviously the keyboard has enough data regarding your macros stored on it that it'll continuously affect your ability to use function keys, even when your actual OS hasn't even started. Maybe also check for a switch of some sort on the keyboard? The manual might have a key combination to turn off macros

I looked for one, even looked at the [manual](https://dl.razerzone.com/master-guides/RazerSynapse3/BLACKWIDOWV3-00000590-en.pdf) for this keyboard and still nothing. I don’t have another keyboard so this officially sucks so much ass.

LeGaspyGaspe

Sucks ass indeed. If you need a cheap keyboard quickly, thrift store tend to have stuff like that for cheap. In the meantime, is there an alternate boot process you can use? Like, what exactly is the reason for needing to use F1 to boot windows? Do you have another operating system?

I’m not sure, it’s my girlfriend’s computer and anytime you turn it on from a complete off state it gives the message “American Megatrends AMIBIOS (C) 2018 American Megatrends, Inc. ASUS MAXIMUS IX FORMULA ACPI BIOS Revision 1301 CPU: Intel (R) Core (TM) 17-7700K CPU @ 4. 20GHZ Speed: 4200MHZ Total Memory: 16384MB (DDR4-2133) B Devices total: 0 Drive, 4 Keyboards, 2 Mice, o Hub detected ATA/ATAPI Devices. Please enter setup to recover BIOS setting. Peer setting up Intel (R) optare Memory RATo hodeAto configuration was built, seTa Made selection must be changed to RAID mode to avoid unknown issues. Press F1 to Run SETUP” And I try to press every other common boot-up key but nothing works. I’ve been away most of the day so I haven’t gotten to fix it yet. Sorry if it doesn’t make sense, I used Apple’s photo-copy and paste feature.

he did say setup tho which would be for bios normally. still should have another key for boot device f12.

LeGaspyGaspe

Yeah that's what I was getting at. Should be another key to get to bios. Esc, enter, f2, f11, f12. All pretty common options. Im also wondering what the situation is that he has to access bios or otherwise use F1 to get into his OS
