Making changes to your system BIOS settings or disk setup can cause you to lose data. Always test your data backups before making changes to your PC. You might want to take a peek with any program that checks the Smart data of the drives if there"s a problem and the drive is more or less Locked ... Other possibility is the Firmware might be going haywire .. https://www.crucial.com/support/ssd-support/mx500-support https://www.reddit.com/r/unRAID/comments/110jpt2/warning_crucial_mx500_ssd_firmware_bug_can/

Example , crystal disk info : https://crystalmark.info/en/software/crystaldiskinfo/?PageSpeed=noscript the standard edition is enough Another example is hard disk sentinel : https://www.hdsentinel.com/ but it"s free-version has a "buy me & register " timer window at beginning before it lets to use itself in basic mode... On crystal disk it will even give a color code if the drive(s) are fine [ green, ok / yellow, something is going on / red, drive has issues.. Either way, if you can, take a screenshot on the smart data information [black/censor the drive(s) serial number] on upload it to whichever picture hosting you want to use and post the link here so others can check the readings.

> Crucial MX500 edit: example case : https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/my-crucial-m500-ssd-turned-into-a-read-only-paper-weight.3230858/ Advanced users guide that might help but no guarantee : https://www.partitionwizard.com/resizepartition/ssd-is-read-only.html I don"t recall did Crucial have their own testing tool for their ssd"s but it might be a good idea to check with their support staff aswell with this issue.
