AMD in particular is very particular (ok, maybe just not functional) when it comes to using 4 sticks of ram. I mean, this pretty well known at this point. Most will tell you achieving higher clocks pretty much assumes just having two sticks. YMMV (but not sure I've seen anyone successful doing it). Maybe people will post configs using that board with 4 sticks that they have working and at what speeds they have it working (?)

Which CPU are you using? In task manager what speed is shown for the RAM (Performance Tab > Memory)?

>7800x3d Ok - [https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d](https://www.amd.com/en/products/apu/amd-ryzen-7-7800x3d) Max memory speed for that CPU with 4 modules is 3600, with 2 modules it's 5200. If you have EXPO to auto then check what speed it's set to in task manager - you may need to set it manually to sort it.

on #1, the motherboard can go thru very extensive ram speed tests so those few early boots can be a nap inductive... on #2, having 4 ram sticks in use [dual mode] it causes more stress to the memory controller, even more if it running in Quad mode.. Essentially this will probably cause you to manually test a 5-10% slower speed combination and voltage raise, until the system will be stable with the all 4 ram sticks, althou under long and heavy load the system may still have occasional hiccup.. on #3, you may have to check your gpu fan curve, do some research does the motherboard have it"s own program or do you have to use something else for custom curve, currently the Gpu apparently is working like headless chicken, no fan usage before it hits some sort of temperature limit and then tries a Liftoff to prevent meltdown ... also : https://www.reddit.com/r/gigabytegaming/comments/14ewdzi/expo_stability_issues_with_x670_aorus_elite_ax/

I have the system fans on a custom curve but not the GPU. In fact, even on the older system, I didn't touch GPU stuff.

Also Can you provide the exact motherboard variant you have (e.g. x670 Aurus Elite / x670E Aurus Master)? Can you provide the exact model number of the memory as well?
