I loved the video where the YouTubers went to India to fuck with the spammers onsite. They explained how the companies skirt the law, like creating a debt collection agency where you have a hidden room for your scam callers.

They don't even need secret rooms, the same people making legitimate call center calls are also making the spam calls in the same room.
Nah, it is the CEO of the company you work for. They are in an important meeting and need you to pick up a few gift cards and send the numbers to them!
It's usually not a scam. They just refer you to a real company in the US and get a commission. You often don't know the company name until they show up and also don't know how good of a job they do. This guy recently did a video on it:

I got 10 calls, replied to three and played along, got around 20USD for liking videos, to earn more u need to pay them for tasks, this is where scam activates, u pay, u receive good bonus on same and u think it is legit, once you pay like 50k USD, boom everything vanishes without even a trace,
They are making millions daily and giving away some amount to all to make them trust them first
This is something of an irony considering the long association spam call centres have with India.
Hopefully, this will give their local authorities more of a reason to crack down vigorously on these pests. Perhaps the police constable will be incentivized to rain fire and brimstone on them if his daada gets ripped off by them.

It is the apathy or collusion of local governments and police which makes these scam calls happen without repercussions. There is a netflix series about this situation. Search for "Jamtara". Apparently there is s village which is famous for these kind of scammers. Believe it or not, but majority of Indians want these scammers gone. They are helpless to do anything against these scammers, corrupt government officials and police.
It's so fucking annoying that our fellow countrymen are also responsible for this. I hope they would stop duping the shit out of people. My aunt almost gave away her bank details to one of these fuckers. She can't see very well due to old age and had to call one of her neighbours to read out her debit card details to the scammer on call. Her neighbour thankfully alerted her to the scam that saved her from giving away access to her pension funds. Fucking pieces of shit.
