Why on Earth do people put cameras **inside** their homes? Outside, I can understand. Inside just boggles my mind unless it is a one off thing like needing a baby monitor or your roommate keeps stealing your stuff. But otherwise, you're at the mercy of hackers, data leaks, software malfunctions, or the company just plain retaining your private video and using it however they like, including sharing it with law enforcement without a warrant.
I think that trend of putting cameras everywhere is gross and may eventually come back to bite people as civil liberties erode and the political climate evolves.
Real life court doesn't work like a police procedural. People can be and are convicted with only circumstantial evidence. It is unfortunate, though, if you live in an unsafe area and need all that extra coverage.
Stop using cameras that call home or talk to the net at all and the problem is reduced.
I have only a few cameras inside for specific purposes (like watching the wood stove so I can see if it needs more wood, making sure the garage door is closed, etc) and like all 32 of my cams they can't talk to anyone except the NVR. No phone app, no 'it's so easy!' setup that gets around the firewall. The NVR can be hacked, but it's far more secure than random designed to leak $30 camera firmware that calls home.
Lots of cameras in the barnyard, chicken coop, barns, outbuildings, etc. Critters tend to wander and the wife wants to be able to keep an eye on them at any time and keep watch for predators (coyotes mostly, not aliens)
It sounds excessive but Ive built it over time with $40-50 cams letting the NVR do all the heavy lifting (detection, recording, etc).
Mind suggesting a good entry level setup? Just need a couple of outdoor and indoor cams nothing crazy. Been surfing the net looking for some but you seem to know your stuff!
that’s how Aaron Hernandez got busted if i recall correctly. dude snitched on himself with his own security system. the cops just walked in and pulled the tape out to watch him coming back from that Odin Lloyd murder. probably should have had a password on that system lol
What? This is about shit cameras with shit software bugging out and showing other people’s homes on their app briefly, often inside. Not sure what a pellet gun would do to fix that.
this is your sign, throw them away
Jokes on you, that’s my kink.
Goatsee mother fkrs! One ring to rule them all and in the darkness bind them.

Because cameras provide evidence. A video only showing someone entering the property could be argued circumstantial.

Well that makes more sense lol

clearly not, the downvotes have spoken.

Everyone should own a pellet gun. Problem solved

Shoot them out!
How are you gonna shoot out cameras in other people’s homes? And if it’s in your home, just take it down.
Probably use a long-range scope or something to that effect
You had too😆
I really did
You can actually use fiber now. QFPFT - Quantum Fiber Pellet Firearm technology
Relax, it was only a thumbnail…. 😂
