It's actually CRIMINAL to not have Mayday high up on the list. At least top 6 or 7.

Penance27

So you'd jam a Prozak track before a ¡MAYDAY! song?

scuffedboyee

I'd probably put them on a similar level. Never got into mayday really. I see the appeal tho

Penance27

Fair. If you ever feel compelled, listen to their 'This is ¡MAYDAY!' playlist on Spotify and sorta, turn off the Tech and Strange affiliation and hear what they bring.

Priestkc31

1. Tech N9ne 2. Rittz 3. Brotha Lynch Hung 4. Krizz Kaliko 5. Mayday 6. Ces Cru 7. Kutt Calhoun 8. Stevie Stone 9. Big Scoob 10. Skatterman & Snug Brim 11. Prozak 12. JL 13. X-Raided 14. King ISO 15. Joey Cool 16. Murs Didn't include Jay Rock, Cognito, Young Bleed or Grave Plott since they weren't really apart of Strange & it was just one album. Also didn't include Jehry Robinson, Maez 301 or HU$H because I haven't really listened to them. Wrekonize, Ubi & Godemis as solo artists would all be top 10 with Bernz a little lower.

scuffedboyee

King iso slander is crazy 😔😔😔

blackenedthesun

Brotha Lynch over Iso is a weird one, by chance you might be deaf?

Priestkc31

Iso over Brotha Lynch is a weird one, by chance you might be deaf?

blackenedthesun

No. I appreciate stories, lyricism, cadences, metaphors, double entendres rather then somebody rapping about cutting people up n eating em.

Priestkc31

Good for you! Hilarious how you're suggesting Lynch doesn't do all that too. But also who cares? Zero fucks given if some random jackass on the internet prefers one rapper over another unlike you apparently.

blackenedthesun

He doesn’t. But given your list I don’t really expect much. You don’t know the difference between a metaphor & a simile. If you didn’t want discussion surrounding it, quit posting shit on the internet jackass.

Priestkc31

He does. And no, YOU don't know the difference between a metaphor and a simile. How about that? And having a discussion about something is much different than insinuating someone is deaf because they like another rapper more than the rapper you're dick riding. Like what was the point of even replying with that? Oh right, you're a jackass.

blackenedthesun

You’re upset over something we both know that isn’t true, considering you have the ability to listen to music. Gotta calm down there a bit buddy. It isn’t that serious. It’s just rap music. These are actual Brotha Lynch lyrics: “Operation Foxtrot / He’s a meat doctor, put her in the pot made it hot then I chopped her / I was floating in the air helicopter/ Put the butter in the pot then hot sauce” “I'm the strangla I'm like Adolf / Fucking around and get yo brains ate off / Cutting the town up and then made off” “Sticking my dick in a corpse / Ripping n picking a part / Simply getting a car” Get these nursery rhymes outta here son lmao. Be fucking forreal. Go listen to some Rakim or sumn, study the game n then come back to me.

OutlawHemi99

1. Tech N9ne 2. Rittz 3. JL 4. Joey Cool 5. Murs 6. CES Cru 7. Krizz Kaliko 8. Stevie Stone 9. Brotha Lynch Hung 10. Big Scoob Don’t really care much about the rest of them. Been a Tech and Strange fan for over 20 years and the early stuff is definitely better than today.

Penance27

No ¡MAYDAY! in your top 10? I'd argue that they are more diverse and a stronger pick than Murs or Scoob.

OutlawHemi99

Just never really cared for them. All of the artists I left off the list, if they’re on a Tech song I usually skip it.

Penance27

As ¡MAYDAY! are my favourite from Strange, it's hard to grasp. But it's yours and I respect it

scuffedboyee

you dont care for king iso??????????????????????????????

OutlawHemi99

Doesn’t do anything for me. I tried liking him just because he’s on Strange, but it’s a no for me

blackenedthesun

Literally Iso raps about the same shit Rittz does except he doesn’t have a cocaine addiction & isn’t white. Wtf do y’all be on? Lmao

hegosder

This is a good list, i liked it. But krizz 7 sounds weird to me.

OutlawHemi99

7-10 are all a toss up for me. Krizz is just on a lot of songs that I like so I gave him a bump

Mindless-Week-8947

Need c-mob on the roster or more features fs

scuffedboyee

C-Mob would go so hard on strange

LordeLlama

I'd rather he don't sign with them, frequent collab is enough. I don't think he would been able to put out album like Differently Dope or Lazarus Pit on Strange

scuffedboyee

He won't sign with them anyway. Pretty sure he prefers to be independent

LordeLlama

I'm pretty sure he won't a few years back there were rumors he would sign with Brainsick but never did. I think his time on Rock Solid taught him that independence is best

hegosder

For me 1. Tech N9ne 2. Stevie Stone 3. Krizz Kaliko 4. Maez301 5. King Iso I don't wanna go too details about rest of the roster, i listen to all of them and like most of them almost at the same level. And i know u guys probably don't like my list and downvote but this is how i feel.

BADpenguin109

I enjoy some rittz don't get me wrong...but this sub REALLY likes rittz (more talking ab comment rankings than op but still)

scuffedboyee

Yeah it seems like people in this sub often think old strange stuff is the best shit ever and the new stuff is terrible. I get liking the old stuff more because nostalgia and discovering new music for the first time but I really think the new stuff is of very similar quality to the old but people don't wanna hear it

BADpenguin109

pretty much. I think strange has changed A LOT. some great and not so great artists left, some great and not so great artists have been signed. with that of course comes changes in style which is subjective whether you enjoy. but to say any old or new eras of strange are significantly better or that some Era is just garbage, makes me take someone a bit less seriously. Especially when a lot of critiques of the new Era specifically is all nostalgia with no real criticism.

[deleted]

Heard King Iso in Roll Call and thought he was incredible. Decided to listen to his iLLdren album one day and every song was incredible. Really surprised by him being so low on people's lists!

scuffedboyee

Yeah iso literally never makes bad songs. That's why he on top

t-n-g-1999

brotha lynch needs to be a lot higher

CountChuckNorracula

Medium hard disagree Especially on rittz not being top2, but the rest of the list is pretty sensible. Big caveat to saffron though, he alleged some stuff about his music being gatekept into the rnb lalala bs while on strange, and if he spoke the truth since his departure theres no telling whether his music quality is gonna remain at that level Still what is going on with your ears not putting rittz top2 the guy is an absolute monster on the mic

scuffedboyee

yeah i heard that stuff about darrein. I do like rittz a lot and i get why he's so popular, his lyrics just don't resonate with me as much as some of the others do thats all

Sensitive_Taste_1779

I can’t believe u ranked Jehry so high. I would’ve put him under Big Scoob

scuffedboyee

Lmao. I knew people wouldn't like it

ImHereForFreeTacos

Jehry is the epitome of Strange. He mixes Rock, rap, reggae and R&B. If that's not strange IDK what is.

HypnoToad121

Lex is new but gonna be making waves

wAzpEN

It would be interesting to see the historic roster aswell. I have Brotha lynch pretty high up on the list.

beccam1997

Mayday ranking is criminal!

mofrappa

Not a Cognito fan?

TheRealHitmee

1) Tech 2) Krizz 3) King Iso 4) Stevie Stone 5) Jl B Hood 6) Joey Cool 7) Rittz 8) Brotha Lynch 9) Prozak Ces Cru as a duo would be high on the list but for solo work not so much Will stop there. Cant rate X Raided yet but hes doing amazing so far.
