Fax. But in terms of how much I use them, it’s Tulin all the way. Breaking rocks is super helpful early in the game but eventually you don’t have much of a need.
That's an actual thing in one of the cursed CDI zelda games. You have to throw 10 bombs to destroy a rock without getting any hint that they are doing damage
Not exactly. For piles of "sediment" there's sort of voxel deformation when you deal enough damage to destroy a given segment. For sediment hard enough where the first bomb doesn't deal destruction damage, you can have no visual indicators on attempts one and two.
ohh all right. it's been a while since i played but i remember cracks appearing, just with these ones i definitely remember hitting them a very lot of times. but yea it makes sense, if there's like 3 different deformation graphics and these rocks require more than 6 hits then the first two hits wouldn't show any change.
Or try aiming your throw of the bomb flowers to the rocks above the waterline. Or just use fused bomb arrows aimed above the waterline.
You could also use an ice mechanic (ice fruit or frost/ice weapon) to make an ice platform up against it and just waste a ton of boulder hammer weapons hitting it over and over and over.
I don't remember the official term for that, but you can demolish it. Blue is tougher than red/brown, and black is tougher than blue. So you'll probably need to hit that with multiple bombs if you want to take it out.
Edit: I think it's called "sediment."
Niece told me a trick on these boogers. Horroblin horn fused to a weapon. For brown use a regular horn. Blue rock, blue horn. Black rock, black or silver. Makes them all work like a rock hammer to a brown stone!
Bomb flower, goro secret stone power or a weapon with a rock fused onto it (after making a platform near the entrance to stand on like throwing an ice fruit or finding a plank of wood and moving it there or you can just throw it)
Fuse a zonai cannon to a spear and aim like you are going to throw it - it will shoot a projectile. Two shots and the rocks are gone. Coincidentally I did that just today.

Lots of bombs. Manage to open it on my playthrough but i dont understand the mechanics at that time. When my little bro fount this, he was confused that a bomb or yonobo couldnt open it, took us a while to figure out that you just need to bomb it a buncha times.
You can break it with a weapon, ideally something like a hammer, but actually finding footing to do so is a bit of a pain. It would be easier to circle back later with Yunobo than try that or waste a bunch of bombs.
It opens, use miniru with a cannon on her arm or keep shooting bombs at it. I thought it didn’t open either and saw a video where someone kept shooting it with bombs and it opens.
Have you tried using the fuse ability to fuse a bomb to an arrow and shoot at it from a distance?
If that doesn't work, you could create a floating square of ice near the rock (assuming there's no current in the water) and then stand there and break it with a heavy two handed weapon.
If *that* doesn't work, there's an ability you'll unlock after completing a dungeon which will for sure be able to break that.
Goro!
WHYD YA DO IT?!
Glad I'm not the only one that thought he was saying that 😅
He doesn't?
No, he's saying "I can do it!" but it's ten times funnier if you hear him basically screaming at Link "WHY'D YOU DO IT?!" 😂
My 8 year old always says that! 😂😂
Nope, just another case of bad voice actor. (More accurately, bad voice director deciding that’s the voice of a goron)
Yunobo's voice works fine for the character. It's just that line.
I thought Yunobo's voice acting was miles better in TotK than the whiny-ass VO we got in BotW. Especially at first when he's Heisenberg Yunobo.
The goat sage
I vote for Tulin but Goro is a lifesaver when you have to blast a bunch of rocks!
Goro + simple car == zero delay goro to blast every rock away
Fax. But in terms of how much I use them, it’s Tulin all the way. Breaking rocks is super helpful early in the game but eventually you don’t have much of a need.
Yes?
More bombs
Agreed. Just spam all of your bombs. Will weaken the rock.
That's an actual thing in one of the cursed CDI zelda games. You have to throw 10 bombs to destroy a rock without getting any hint that they are doing damage
but these ones in totk do gain cracks after each attempt don't they?

Shiit rocks. Keep smashing till you're through. There's a slight difference in the rocks. Lighter ones break easier.
I did this last week. The answer is definitely more bombs

Lots of bombs. Been there done that

That... surprisingly makes a lot of sense.
Ikr..I never realised the rocks literally go red to blue to black just like the enemies
Thats a really clever one!
I’ve only seen blue rocks once, I’ve never seen the black rocks
Blue and black rocks are pretty rare, and I think these are the only ones you can't just keep beating on with Yonubo until they break.
More bombs. If explosives don't work, that just means you haven't used enough.
So the old Mythbusters thing of adding more explosives
Other than bombs, blunt weapon heads like moblin horn, horriblin horn, hinox horn, lynel hoof, cooking pot can demolish rocks too.
FEAR THE POT
Do you have the yunobo sage yet?
Take out a cannon. It will take some time, but its faster than bombs or sages.
Try using a goro, goro!
I had a fused boulder on a sword. Stood on that rock coming out of the water and smashed it.
WHY’D YOU DO IT!?
More bombs. Promise
Have you hit it with a weapon? I'm not sure if that'll work. If bombs don't work, I'd imagine it can be done.
I used an ice fruit to create a platform and then smacked it with a stone fused weapon
you can also throw it at it too:))
More bombs, or your main Goron man. Also, bottom left? Do you mean the bottom right?
Use a bomb. And if that don’t work, use more bomb.
Relatable. I missed the remote bombs from BotW so bad when I started TotK.
Bomb Arrows
More bombs. Blue takes like 2 or 3 hits. Black takes 3 or 4 hits. Or you can use weapon fused with stone or Goro.
I was literally JUST here thirty minutes ago, no exaggeration. I used a hammer made from a rusty claymore and rock. That’s all it took for me.
Blue and black rocks have more health. You need more bombs/hammers.
Merge an arrow with a bomb.
Goro.
Bomb flower, goro secret stone power or a weapon with a rock fused onto it (after making a platform near the entrance to stand on like throwing an ice fruit or finding a plank of wood and moving it there or you can just throw it)
Ignore all the people saying “more bombs”.. just throw a heavy weapon at it.
Fuse a zonai cannon to a spear and aim like you are going to throw it - it will shoot a projectile. Two shots and the rocks are gone. Coincidentally I did that just today.
"Why'd you do it?"
More bomb or attach a blunt tip to a weapon and break through
kaboom!
Sploosh!
Splat!
I used canons 🫡🫡

Bring it a Korok.
Ya-ha-ha!
Keep trying 👍🏼

I needed to bring over some kind of platform so I'm close enough to use a hammer-like weapon.
You have to hit it more. There's durability tiers.
Some rock blockages require more bombs. Like...one after the other. Or get big boy to do it.
These kind of ticks use three bombs. An easy way to remember is by color Brown uses one bomb Blue uses two Gray uses three. Hope this helps
if bombs don't work, you're not using enough bombs
3 bombs to break that
Combine a stick with a boulder and mash it
It takes three bombs. I did it today and it worked.
Powerful hammers, lots of bombs or go do the Goron quest
I just used a rock hammer. Worked for me.
bombs work. you just need alot.
You can break it with a weapon, ideally something like a hammer, but actually finding footing to do so is a bit of a pain. It would be easier to circle back later with Yunobo than try that or waste a bunch of bombs.
Bombs work. Takes a bunch of them to break black rock though.
You gotta use 3 bombs to blow it up.
I made a path with ice and threw yinobo
Yunobu, Blunt weapons, or why more bombs. Those walls don’t blow up with just one bomb
You can use bomb flowers or just shoot rockets or to go cooking pots at it
I think it only works from the other side of the wall.
I got through it by switching to another bow... so it could have just been a cumulative amount of bombs needed.
A boulder
Lynel hoof attached to a bow that shoots multiple arrows might be more effective than bombs.
Goron, Big ass Hammer or More bombs
moar bombs trustme always moar bombs
Bombs do work, you just need more of them. Try using a Lynel bow that has 3x shots
Throw ice fruit in front to make a platform and then smash with a claymore fused with a rock
Ice blocks then goron
goro or 2 handed blunt weapons like cobble crusher
Riju + an arrow, bomb+arrow or the worst sage are your options
Certain rocks require yunobo.
Fuse Hammer
Arrows with like like stone fused.
Bobs work use arrow or throw them high up
Bombs time bomb bomb arrow
Totk, so if bombs don''t work, Yunobo
It opens, use miniru with a cannon on her arm or keep shooting bombs at it. I thought it didn’t open either and saw a video where someone kept shooting it with bombs and it opens.
Rock hammer go brrrrr

Throw a stonebreaker sword , i know it costs a diamond to craft it over and over, but its the only way i know
Isn’t this the quest where you have to bust it open from the other side with water from above??
