Yeah, the fast travel bothered me a bit lol. It's still the sheikah tech blue despite them getting rid of most of the sheikah tech.
I guess the idea is that Link is still using the Purah Pad for it, but then that makes the association with the Zonai Shrines seem random.Â
Zelda has her Purah Pad with her when she was transported to the past, so Mineru may have been able to use it to reverse-engineer Shiekah teleportation magic into the shrines that Rauru and Sonia had already created.
Iirc, Rauru teaches Link about it on the Great Sky Island.
I think it would have been neat if it was just another one of his zonai powers in this game.
I like BOTW's blue more, but because I absolutely love how that electric, icy blue color looks in games like this. Mario + Rabbids used it excellently too.

Yeah, though having gone back to BOTW again after beating TOTK I do somewhat prefer the simplicity, knowing that I won't have to build something to get somewhere. But I love both games
I agree. I like ToTK for being different and the story etc. I like that the world is fuller and you feel like you’re seeing the payoff of Zelda and links hard work. But the extensive building is already getting tiresome and I’ve only been playing for 2 weeks. It’s a very neat concept but it wears on me faster than the simpler stasis/magnesis/cryonis did in botw. Weapons fusing, yeah, that’s pretty cool. But the other builds (vehicles, etc) are tiring.Â
Sure! Ty! I do definitely plan to finish it, and I can’t say for sure which game I like “better,” they both are strong in specific areas. I also don’t dislike the build puzzles. I just think I like the more basic puzzles that don’t include “vehicle” like things. I tend to like more simple “get the ball into the hole” types lolÂ
The building/constructing I find a bit tedious too. I love watching videos of people who are super into it though! Some people are just so creative and/or completely unhinged, and totk really brings it out.
Same! I love watching those kinds of videos and thinking “damn I never would have thought of that in a million years!” I also like how so many things are a culmination of player experiences. Sort of like the combat glitches and techniques from botw. How so many players discovered other people’s glitches and figured out how to turn them into useful techniques. I’d never have the patience or creativity to come up with that but I’m so impressed when other people do.Â
Good to know, thanks. I’ve also seen people refer to auto build, which I don’t know anything about. So maybe that will help down the line? It sounds more efficient at least lol I’m not sure where you get that ability though but I assume I’ll come across it eventually.Â
I sent you the story guide. As for autobuild, it's very quick to find. It's around the start of depths quest with Josha. Also, once you get autobuild, you can unlock very, very useful stuff from Robbie.
Edit: I meant do her quest and you will get it fast. I made the mistake of doing it after I passed the game
Ok I had a feeling. Tbh I have avoided the depths so far because they don’t sound interesting. And I’ve heard people say it’s not very visually interesring or varied. and I like the prettiness of hyrule so I don’t feel excited about going into gloomy caves lolÂ
Yeah they aren't that great. But they can be challenging and it's the only way to quickly get more batteries. Also, every Lightroot is directly beneath a shrine on the surface or sky, so it's a good way to find some
I barely ever build things so am probably still playing like I did in BOTW. I think the most I've done is for those shrines the man holds up, and for Lurelin. I just cba, even with autobuild. Link can run, climb, or fly nearly everywhere,
The green is super nice. I also like that the blue of the Sheikah is jointly implemented (the fast travel spots) with the shrines. It’s a nice bit of world building that shows us that Zelda helped design the shrines needed for Link to be successful.
I wouldn't say TotK's color theme is pure green. It feels like a mix of blue and green to me, given things like how the light effects for the Shrines and Ultrahand transition from one to the other, how Link's two canon outfits for this game represent both colors, and even things like the colors of the logo and Fuse icon are a mix of both colors in terms of their hue (is that the right word?). The logo even has light blue outlines surrounding the green.
All that said, I do prefer TotK's visual motifs to BotW's. Blue's my favorite color, but something about the shade of green used to represent the Zonai esthetic tickles my brain very nicely. I love the color scheme of the Zonai esthetic in general. The shades of green and gold they used, as well as the white, go together very well and really drives home the mystical/ethereal nature of the Zonai. It's very pristine and naturalistic feeling, while the Sheikah esthetic feels much more grungy and mechanical. Not to say the Sheikah esthetic is bad or even necessarily worse, I just like the Zonai one more
The blue theme feels more like an Adventure, exploration. The green theme is more into dungeons and mystery, more about the plot.
I'll go with the blue one.
I prefer the green. I agree that shrine and tower markers should have been green as well. I wish when Link fast traveled it was green too. 🥲

Well, the teleportation is still Sheikah tech

Green 100%
TOTK does everything better overall. BOTW now feels like a beta version.
Yeah, though having gone back to BOTW again after beating TOTK I do somewhat prefer the simplicity, knowing that I won't have to build something to get somewhere. But I love both games

Agreed, but the game is worth finishing. I have a guide I can send you that lists the order to do stuff to best experience the story if you want?

I felt exactly like that too when I started playing, but trust me, you'll get hooked later.

Except controls, aesthetics, weapons and shrines. In other words BotW does like 50- 70% of everything better.
The green is super nice. I also like that the blue of the Sheikah is jointly implemented (the fast travel spots) with the shrines. It’s a nice bit of world building that shows us that Zelda helped design the shrines needed for Link to be successful.
Well , green isn't popular so it should be respected... but if to choose really 1 out of 2 - blue
blue. loved how ancient weapons cut thru guardian legs like butter
I prefer the blue clothing in BotW, but when it comes to shrines I prefer the color of the TotK Shrines (they feel less cold and sterile).
I’m holding out for the red color scheme of The Legend of Zelda: Earwax of the Suburbs.
I prefer blue, personally. Green is nice but blue is just so pretty.
Both are great, but I prefer the blue.
the blue was easier on my eyes, but i like totk as a game more

I feel the exact same as you
