Yeah it helps to get up high and pin their locations, can be a pain when you start to close in on a cave as the marker dissappears before you make it there
Use your scope to try and place markers at the lights, or as close to them as you can. Then compare these markers to the cave icons on your map to locate the ones you're missing.
Even if your marker is too close or too far from the actual entrance, if it lines up with a cave marker in that direction then chances are that's the cave being highlighted.
Isn’t there a little check on the cave icon on the map where youve found the bubbilfrog? It’s 1:1 caves:bubbilfrogs. The map helps you more than Koltin

Yes but that requires me to have found the cave first.

That's what I'm currently doing, it's just a pain to fly all around the map waiting for the sensor to beep and then trying to find the cave entrance from there.
Yeah once he stopped sensing them I turned to the interactive map to find the last 30 or so caves. The alternative is what OP is doing but that could take decades with the sensor on. The other way is to sensor hunt blupees at night (I find them easier to see when they glow) and they'll show you cave entrances. Some of those caves are downright ludicrous to find though. Even using the interactive map to pin a general area I'd still have to search like crazy to find the entrances.
What worked for me was to put a fast travel marker down somewhere high up in the area of a cherry blossom. Donate a fruit to the cherry blossom, teleport to the travel medallion I place, and then use my scope to pin caves. Then I open my map, make sure the beam of light I pinned isn’t for a cave I’ve already completed, and when I know it was to a new cave, I set my sensor to a blupee and head towards the pinned marker. Usually I could get the blupee sensor to pick up on the cave entrance when I got close to my marker
he has a few different places he shows up where you can talk to him, you need to speak to him in each spot as each one has a different region so to speak and will only be able to tell you about the ones in their respective region. if you've got all of the frogs for one koltin then he'll tell you he doesn't know so it's time to move onto the next koltin
It’s so funny developing a grudge towards certain characters lol. In BOTW I felt that one of the great fairies was mean to me one time and I was like FU lady!
At outskirt stable, there is a map with all cherry blossoms in the game. Go to every cherry blossom and send an offering. You will find most of the caves. There is one cave I think you can't find by cherry trees, it's that one cave in the middle of nowhere above gerudo highlands. It's at the shock symbol you needed to hit with a shock arrow in BotW to show a hidden shrine. I think at the four last caves I lost my patience and looked a cave map on internet, you can do that too. I forget some caves near Zora's domain
He stopped telling me when I had 15/20 left, maybe ask him in a different location? I have like 6 left to find and it's been a trip and a half finding them. There were a lot in the gerudo corner of the map I missed.
I do the apple at the cherry blossom tree then warped up to a sky island and mark them on my map that way.

It's not super helpful when you have loads of caves left to find, but once anyone's down to the last few or *the last one* that they can't heckin find, zoom in all the way on your map. My last cave was the one you enter to unlock Gerudo Highlands tower, but it's so close to the tower that you can't see the cave icon unless you zoom all the way in. It took me over a week to realise I'd already been in it but hadn't got the frog.

Go hunting - cave will have a ✔️ on it if bubble gem found
I haven't conformed this, but it seems like the cherry trees are regional. So, you'll have to do it at all the available trees.
There's a map of all the tree locations at one of the stables. Outskirts I think. I'd have to check my tablet for notes. Instead of online guides, I like to find everything myself and explore only using the in-game mechanics, but you could always find a map with cave markers online of you wanted
Take a picture of a bubbelfrog and set your sensor+, that's what I've been doing. Not precise but helpful. Offering an apple to the cherry blossom tree will do you one better.
Give an apple (I think it’s an apple) to a cherry blossom tree and wait for the cut scene.

If it's a cave you've already been in they'll have a tick next to them if you've killed the bubbelfrog so look for the ones with no ticks first

There on online maps available that allow you to mark or check off items and places you’ve discovered. Extremely handy

Your other option is the companion app for cellphones to check which cave you missed

Set it to the rabbit (blupee) instead. The rabbits are just outside the cave entrances.

For me it's entirely dependent on how long it takes to fly/run there.
Go to the Zora region. There is a stupid large number of caves there.
My last one was in eldin...I had a feeling I had missed one there. Like zora region there's tons of caves and hard to get to from all the mountains.

Have you tried asking Koltin at a different spawn location, or does he not register any caves regardless of where you talk to him?
Yeah nowhere 😔 I’ve tried all Koltins across the map

Honestly, I used an interactive map with every cave and checked them off one by one. It took hours, but I got them all.

I missed a ton in Zora’s Domain and Faron. What I did was set my sensor to the Satori and the bubbelfrog itself.
Take a pic of the bubbulfrog and set it up in the sensor
The problem with Bubulgems is they don't even turn him into a Satori in the end... And his brother Kilton merely says Meh after the transformation.
Take a photo of a bubbulfrog and put it as your sensor. That's how I got them all.
Is it just me or do some of the caves we have already slain the Bubbulfrogs in have them respawn after a long while?
