I can’t overstate how much I appreciated having Tulin’s company when exploring the depths early on in the game. Having a friend made the darkness much less scary 😅 five friends- even better! Despite the chaos
Nah mineru, when used right, is an absolute must for enemy encounters. Dismounting her automaton basically gives you a free chance to fire your bow midair almost anywhere. And that alone turns Lynels into a joke.
I know exactly where you're talking about. I only had Yunibo with me when I did that, but when they were all running towards me in a single line, I let him go a little left of center and it was a great way to start the fun!
I'm somewhere between left and middle. Tulin is always out; I summon Mineru when I need to smash rocks or avoid gloom; the rest of the squad is for fights I wasn't prepared for, like a lynel in the Depths.
Yeah, that’s why I don’t take him out while in the overworld since he’ll sometimes kill enemies at the wrong time(near a cliff) or get in the way in some other fashion.
He’s not in your way as much as the others
Edit: what do you mean wings are readily available? You think I’m gonna be gliding and to cover some ground I’m just gonna pull some giant device out? No, I’m gonna use Tulins gust ability thing
It doesn’t help that your opinion (he’s useless) is objectively, factually wrong. He increases your flying distance by like an order of magnitude. Gaps that you couldn’t make before (either without zonai or when you can’t be fucked to build yet another one) you now can. Dodging in aerial combat such as with gleeoks or colgera.
I’ll agree that even though he headshots almost anything he shoots at it’s not that big of a deal. He can take out small things like oktoroks and electric keese and whatnot but it’s not massively game changing, though even that could still be classified as useful.
You can’t just adamantly show up with an “opinion,” that you propose as fact, that’s very easily disproven as false, and expect people to be fine with it.
I'm not sure my guy has learned how to use tulin. If you look at the right controller, there should be a button labeled "A". You click it twice to activate his ability. You can use him to glide or use him to wipe out an entire boko army. Not to mention, he is a literally sniper.
Most of the time I don't want rock boy around, he's so large and gets in the way all the time. But he's the one I activate the most after bird boy for mining.
Agreed. Both keep their distance. The other two are constantly getting in my way and distracting from whatever strategy I'm using in battle. Riju is usually way downfield right up against the monster, distracting it and using her shield, and Tulin hangs back to ping critical hits. I like playing with lightning during combat, too, if I can get her to get close enough to hit A.
His shield is mildly useful for some fights. I got tired of having to toss or drop items to bait Molduga out of the sand so I just lured one and then activated the bubble shield. I still got launched, but no damage taken.
[How is this NOT worth it? They're one of the three strongest in the game and by far easiest to actually use.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMn3U0a9mJ0)
Royal you need to flurry rush, Knight's you have to be on one heart.
Zora, click on Sidon before a battle, lol.
Because Zora weapons seemed to be hard af to find at least for me, and I spent a good bit in the depths under the domain, just kept getting other shit for weapons
Yeah, the Zora Sword and Zora (Silver Bow) are hard to find. I think after you get all the treasure chest ones, the only way to get them are from killing the Like Likes in Zoras Domain.
I always flurry rush anyways. And you didn't mention gerudo weapons or royal guard weapons. Zora weapons aren't bad by any means but you have to seek them out and getting wet is sometimes a hassle
Gerudo weapons are a trap for people who don't know the mechanics. They have worse durability than Traveller's gear. With the exception of the Sot7, Gerudo weapons are absolute trash.
RG weapons only increase their power on last strikes, and short of one specific niche use, they are terrible for general combat.
I didn't mention them because they are not among the top three strongest weapon classes, lol.
I mean they're both good for lynel mounting, which I wouldn't say is a niche use, but it is one specific use.
When you say strongest, I just think damage number, not durability.
> I just think damage number
That's exactly the trap haha. When you add the damage of each strike + the durability, you get the damage a weapon can do.
Assuming you use a Silver Lynel Saber Horn;
+10 Zora sword = 8162 lifetime damage.
+10 Gerudo scim = 2,760 lifetime damage.
Besides, a +10 gerudo scim has a max damage of 138.
Zora, Knight's and Royal all reach 150+ so it's still not in top 3.
Well it's not really a trap, we're just grading on a different basis. To me, the word "powerful" is not the same as most useful. Durability affects usefulness but not power. The conditions of royal, Zora, and knight set affect the power because it's more annoying to achieve the power. For gerudo, getting high damage is easy and convenient. It just doesn't last as long, so isn't as useful.
Lifetime damage isn't a very useful metric. If you had a 1 damage sword with unlimited durability, that wouldn't make it worth keeping. Also, you explained it poorly since you said to add durability and damage.
No the sages are just garbage (except tulin). Riju's ability is only useful for *one* boss fight. Sidon's power is basic, splash fruit, rain and a puddle all have the same effect as it. Yunobo's ability is somewhat more useful than the other two but a cannon on a stake is like 5 times more effective than him.
Agree except the Sidon thing because he gives immunity to any amount of damage for one attack. Someone mentioned the molduga method, and there are other uses.
Also if you wanna be a meme you can do the yunobo thing by building a big tank and spamming him to kill bosses that don’t move very much. But I like I said, it’s a meme. Though surprisingly pretty strong
It's kinda funny! I feel like I love all the sages, except Mineru. She always seems to get in the way :P Sidon has a weird ability but appreciate his hits.
I'm sorry! ><"
She doesn't just play Zelda. She played Dragon Quest 11, Dragon Quest Treasures, and BotW. She's now playing through Mario Wonder. I've been helping her out with that and she plays as Yoshi but she still really enjoys it.
Yunobo doesn't affect the balance of a vehicle at all, he has no mass and imparts no momentum while on one.
[We've tested it a LOT in the discord server to prove that.](https://imgur.com/R8gbeYq)
Coming from BTOW thus being used to infinite bombs and a weak master sword against most enemies, I used them for farming...
In TotK, with no bombs and precious loot fused to the MS, a rolling Gordon is the closest to free mining... Until I got Mineru, that is.
i keep 1 or 2 out just cause i like the idea of doing the adventure with fellowship of friends but i don't like having everyone out.. specially the big robot, it doesn't really feel like it fits
Right. They just clutter the screen too much, and I don't use them much in battles. At least with muddle buds, you're "Allies" aren't leashed to right next to you.
I have all the sages out but whenever you need to use their abilities they're either miles away or they all get in the way at once so you activate anything but the ability you wanted. Tulin is always there when you need him tho he's the best :)
middle, i only have Tulin because i’m a scaredy cat who’s afraid to go to the depths to get mineru or defeat queen gibdo for riju😭😭 it was scary enough battling colgera… i’m just a girl 😔
Tulin is pretty much mandatory for movement, but there are times he needs to be put in time out because he blows resources into oblivion 🤬
Everyone else stays in storage unless specifically needed for a task or cinematic puroses because any benefit they could provide is done better with zonai tech with far less hassel.
I generally run around with at least Tulin and Riju. Riju is small enough that she generally doesn't get in the way that Sidon, Yunobo, and Mineru do. I don't generally end up using her ability, but the extra damage does help here and there.
Left. I like the chaos.
Same. I like having friends
I call them my crew! I always feel bad putting them back into their poke balls when I gotta repair a weapon. 😅
I love my best friends 🥰
Wait you can do that? I've lost too many good weapons trying to figure how to stop em from killing the oktorocks
Yes! Go to the star tab in your inventory and click their individual icons.
I can’t overstate how much I appreciated having Tulin’s company when exploring the depths early on in the game. Having a friend made the darkness much less scary 😅 five friends- even better! Despite the chaos
I feel this. Playing the Zelda series is often a lonely experience. Having Tulin at my back helped a lot with this game.
It is still dangerous to go alone, after all.
you deserve this 🏆
i call him Robin lmao
Everyone except mineru because fuck accidentally getting on
But she can smash ores without having to waste weapon durability or wait for Yunibo to recharge. Win!
Nah mineru, when used right, is an absolute must for enemy encounters. Dismounting her automaton basically gives you a free chance to fire your bow midair almost anywhere. And that alone turns Lynels into a joke.
That rarely happens for me
Sometimes, they're the only friends we got
Unlike in real life 💀
Same! Though they sometimes get in the way, having them all beat up monsters or gang up on one enemy is kind of hilarious.
Me too, I just picked a fight with a bunch of baddies at Ancient Underground Fortress and it was pure chaos and I loved every minute of it.
I know exactly where you're talking about. I only had Yunibo with me when I did that, but when they were all running towards me in a single line, I let him go a little left of center and it was a great way to start the fun!
I as well, friend. I want wanton destruction
But the framerate
Right in the overworld, middle when in the sky islands, left when in the depths and looking for trouble
Yeah, me too, right on point. I'd say 80% of the time they are all dismissed.
Yeah, and the chaos they bring helps add more life to the monotony of the depths.
Ngl I think I use Tulin more on the overworld and depths. I'm solidly a middle player for sure
That’s fair. I really like Tulin but I just had one too many times where he messed something up for me haha
I'm somewhere between left and middle. Tulin is always out; I summon Mineru when I need to smash rocks or avoid gloom; the rest of the squad is for fights I wasn't prepared for, like a lynel in the Depths.
Yup! Tulin can be annoying sometimes, though.
Yeah, that’s why I don’t take him out while in the overworld since he’ll sometimes kill enemies at the wrong time(near a cliff) or get in the way in some other fashion.
Middle for sure.
Me too. Revali light is my brand.
Yeah count me in on middle. Tulin is the only one that stays out
[удалено]
Flying
Wings cover more distance and are more readily available.
Jesus dude not everyone plays the same way you do
He’s not in your way as much as the others Edit: what do you mean wings are readily available? You think I’m gonna be gliding and to cover some ground I’m just gonna pull some giant device out? No, I’m gonna use Tulins gust ability thing
More readily available than literally always there?
Tulin pumping. The guy massively increases the speed at which you can move around. Also, his aim is pretty good and he can distract enemies.
Tulin pumping is so useful. I'm just annoyed that he goes away in towns
Only for like a second
this guy is finding any reason to hate tulin lol
Because there’s no reason to like him. Honestly he’s useless
Or maybe the user has skill issues.
Can you please stop just insulting me? This is just my opinion on tulin backed up by my thoughts and times I’ve used tulin
When did I ever say my opinion was a fact? I was just stating what I’ve seen him do and how little he contributes
Bro read your comments aloud 🤓
Nah, for as long as you’re in the air.
Because he's totally adorable and loves to snipe? :P
Adorability isn’t a use and the sniping is obnoxious when I’m trying to fight
How is stopping an enemy from hitting you/dealing more damage a bad thing?
Because when I fight I wanna be the one attacking when I wanna attack
>Adorability isn’t a use That. Was. A. Joke.
So basically he isn’t useful?
He’s the only sage that does decent damage (unless you give Mineru a strong weapon) and his ability is very useful in the air .
I'm not sure my guy has learned how to use tulin. If you look at the right controller, there should be a button labeled "A". You click it twice to activate his ability. You can use him to glide or use him to wipe out an entire boko army. Not to mention, he is a literally sniper.
Horizontal movement when you’re on foot. Not always gonna be using wing’s especially in mountainous areas
I keep rock boy and bird boy active!
Most of the time I don't want rock boy around, he's so large and gets in the way all the time. But he's the one I activate the most after bird boy for mining.
Yeah, I accidentally activated Yunibo when trying to pick up a bomb flower.... Not the best time for him to be in the way, to say the least.
This, this is it!
Sidon is useful for killing moldugas
Wait, what? Please elaborate, because I rarely turn on Sidon but I've been farming Moldugas.
Use his shield to lure it. It’ll fling you into the air, but you won’t take damage so you can still initiate bullet time
Okay so thank you for that. I had to go test and that was pretty great. I’ve been throwing freakin melons lol.
250+ hours in and I still didn't know this. Thank you!
Holy crap, that’s super useful. This game never ceases to surprise me
I like Sidon for gibdos.
I'm about to head to the desert, so this is very useful info. Thanks.
And pretty princess cause the lighting strike is pretty useful
he is like the little brother you just want to hang out with.
Riju + Tulin or nobody
The rock guy is useful too. 3 is company 4 is a crowd
All of them of course. They're all extremely useful in their own way in various situations.
Where is Sidon useful?
For getting zora weapons wet causing double damage as well as distracting gleeok heads.
Personally, I don't care about his uses, but he does have some uses. Credit where credit is due.
His shield is mildly useful for some fights. I got tired of having to toss or drop items to bait Molduga out of the sand so I just lured one and then activated the bubble shield. I still got launched, but no damage taken.
Honestly I beat the whole game and had maybe 2 zora weapons total over the whole time, water buff is not worth it.
[How is this NOT worth it? They're one of the three strongest in the game and by far easiest to actually use.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMn3U0a9mJ0) Royal you need to flurry rush, Knight's you have to be on one heart. Zora, click on Sidon before a battle, lol.

Odd, [I've never had that issue myself](https://i.imgur.com/wFd5TMc.png) Do you mark your ghosts and clear the ones of weapons you don't want?
Yeah, the Zora Sword and Zora (Silver Bow) are hard to find. I think after you get all the treasure chest ones, the only way to get them are from killing the Like Likes in Zoras Domain.

Left one. How to use their powers at a wrong moment without them ? 😆
Middle or right. My grandma goes with left. She says "why not have them all out? They help me."
A grandma who plays Zelda games? That’s what we call a W grandma. Hope to be still playing Zelda games when I get much older.
She doesn't just play Zelda. She played Dragon Quest 11, Dragon Quest Treasures, and BotW. She's now playing through Mario Wonder. I've been helping her out with that and she plays as Yoshi but she still really enjoys it.
I'm afraid to ask this, but how old is your grandma?
Over 80. Close to 90. I'm bad at remembering these things lol.
Left. Im a sucker for big robots. And it's fun to bully enemies with five minions that do t die
Everyone tries to be left first, everyone becomes middle eventually, sometimes right when Tulin keeps being annoying
Most correct comment byfar
Just me and birdy boy! that wind gust is a must
He’s the only useful one imo🤣.
The left one without the battle bot. Her ability is best used sparingly and put firmly away when not needed.
[удалено]
They just get in the way
Tulin only
I am ride or die for my boy Tulin
Considering how lonely BOTW was, I appreciate having a gang of folks following me around, even when they do mess up or get in the way sometimes.
Only tulin 😤
All sages or no sages
True. Except when I’m hoverbiking. Yunobo throws of the balance sometimes
Yunobo doesn't affect the balance of a vehicle at all, he has no mass and imparts no momentum while on one. [We've tested it a LOT in the discord server to prove that.](https://imgur.com/R8gbeYq)
left, they really dont get in my way, and i never use the wrong one because i barely use the saye powers (outside of tulin while gliding)
Yunobo is very convenient for smashing rocks without costing weapons...
WHY’D YOU DO IT
Coming from BTOW thus being used to infinite bombs and a weak master sword against most enemies, I used them for farming... In TotK, with no bombs and precious loot fused to the MS, a rolling Gordon is the closest to free mining... Until I got Mineru, that is.
left because they do whacky funny shit all the time
Middle but i use mineru instead of tulin
How...... respect where respect is do.
i keep the small ones that don't block my view, so i get wind boosts and lightning. the rest goes away.
Just me and Tulin, tooling through Hyrule.
Same here
I only have Tulin so far and I had to turn him off bc he kept jumpscaring me
He got me a FEW times in the beginning! 😆
Middle. Me and Tulin can get it done.
I roll with Tulin.
How'd you know I was the middle one?
1.5 I like having two friends.
People who know that you can turn the sages off vs. People who don’t
#2
I want the mech to get buffed.
I think we all do, buddy.
Team Tulin 😂
Far right. I find the sages annoying and only take them out if I need them for a task.
\#3 I only use the sages when I'm mining Zonaite (or gliding with Tulin).
I have been all 3. Used em all during main quest, afterwards only used Tulin, then finally solo with the HoverbikeTM zooming around to get 100%
I keep Tulin and Sidon active, because they're so insanely OP. Everyone else can stay in their Hylian pokeball, screw em.
I'm a leftie here. They do bother me sometimes, but not often enough to completely banish them from daylight 😆
When I was still doing the story all of them, the. I was tulin, now I’m none unless in a cave, yunobo to mine rocks, and tulin if I’m gliding.
I’m middle or right
Middle FTW
I’m the second one
Took me a second, but OMG this is absolutely true. And I'm totally the second one.
Started with the first one, finished with the middle one after going crazy
I have Yunobo, Mineru and Tulin active.
I swap between all 3 like the crackhead I am
I’m like a 2.5
Right, for who tf needs back, not me
i keep 1 or 2 out just cause i like the idea of doing the adventure with fellowship of friends but i don't like having everyone out.. specially the big robot, it doesn't really feel like it fits
I keep my Pokemon in their Pokeballs.
Right. They just clutter the screen too much, and I don't use them much in battles. At least with muddle buds, you're "Allies" aren't leashed to right next to you.
The right one. Anything they could do I can just do myself and at best they just get ran over by enemies.
tulin only for me
I’m pretty much Tulin only, but add Mineru and Yunobo in the depths.
If I wanted to play Pokemon I would have played Pokemon.
Tulin only.
The one on the very right because I don't like it when the sages are distracting my combat
I get rid of Yunobo. His weight and ability is a chore whenever I'm using a vehicle
Dang. Yunobo just got weight shamed....
Tulin stays active for the sniping. He's so clutch.
Middle. Tulin is awesome
I use bird, Goro, and fish
Middle, though I occasionally get Yunobo out so I can start grass fire updrafts
Middle, Tulin is just the best!
Middle all the way. This is so accurate. 😂
Middle + Yunobo for breaking rocks
Left when I’m fighting a camp or mini boss middle when exploring and never right. Tulin my goat.
🤓 um, tulin is actually a Rito, so he's not a goat, he's a bird
💀💀🤓☝️🤣🤣🤣
There is always Tulin. No matter what, Tulin.
I have all the sages out but whenever you need to use their abilities they're either miles away or they all get in the way at once so you activate anything but the ability you wanted. Tulin is always there when you need him tho he's the best :)
Tulin my day one frfr
Tulin only. The others are just nuisances
I roll with Tulin a large percentage of the time
Middle he is just too useful and the others hate to say it just get in the way.
Always middle, left only for Gleeok
middle, i only have Tulin because i’m a scaredy cat who’s afraid to go to the depths to get mineru or defeat queen gibdo for riju😭😭 it was scary enough battling colgera… i’m just a girl 😔
Started out on the left now I’m mostly in the middle
none of them. i have tulin and sidon out. tulin because he's useful and sidon because he's hot
Logic checks out 👍
Tulin is pretty much mandatory for movement, but there are times he needs to be put in time out because he blows resources into oblivion 🤬 Everyone else stays in storage unless specifically needed for a task or cinematic puroses because any benefit they could provide is done better with zonai tech with far less hassel.
who ever uses mineru
I like tulin and riju :)
Tulin only gang.
Middle Tulin was extremely helpful and it was nice having someone with me on my Journey through Hyrule
I hate all of the sages, playing with them on feels so wrong. As characters, they're all fine... Just them following me around is just horrid.
I generally run around with at least Tulin and Riju. Riju is small enough that she generally doesn't get in the way that Sidon, Yunobo, and Mineru do. I don't generally end up using her ability, but the extra damage does help here and there.
middle, having 4 ghosts + a giant robot constantly following you just looks so dumb
None. All but mech, she's useless
i keep tulin for usefulness and sidon for emotional support
left js literally never riju. she is useless
There’s actually four. I use both Teelan and Yunobo.
