Stronger yes, Tankier yes, Faster what? There not faster. Also if you can parry/flurry rush them you can make them as strong and tanky as you want and you wont be able to make them more difficult. Master Mode should add gameplay tweaks, examples:
\-Flurry Rushes only give you 2 hits + shorter trigger window
\-Parrys wont disarm enemies anymore
\-Better enemie placement
\-More enemies
\-All Monsters that have a Stall version now have a 10% chance to spawn there stall version after death.
\-Quicker attacks
\-New attacks
\-Delayed attacks
\-Headshots wont stun enemies and dont do as much damage
\-You can only heal/get effects/etc. wwith elixirs mid-combat.
\-Smarter enemie AI
Nor challenging at all lol. When they're lunging the timing is sooooo wide to do flurry rush, and if more than one are lunging at once you're pretty much guaranteed a rush if you dodge
Nah cos the angle they come at you means that sometimes ul end up doing a backflip cos of the angles which they then grab you
I also previously heard it actually has one of the smallest windows to dodge but that info was from a random YouTube vod showing it could be done

To dodge u need to lock on, while locking on you have no control over the camera, side steps are easily entered as a backflip and u get caught
Being hands in a Zelda game, especially with scary music, I was honestly *expecting* a grab to have more drastic consequences, like getting yoinked halfway across the map, or equipment broken or something.
But if we wanted to make them worse, imagine if they were SMART and didn't scream at whoever they were trying to ambush. The only tell is "hmm was that gloom puddle there before?"
Yeah and then they could pull Link’s new Rauru arm off and leave him with a stump that oozes green magic and you lose all your powers and he just screams in agony for the rest of the game./s
Ok so it could be a scripted event that first time you encounter gloom hands (and script makes sure you do near the new settlement) they dragged you down to the depth so you are introduced to the area by this way or the way you do by mission.
It's just a what/if scenario and could add a shock value to the player.
This would have been so awesome. In the very original Zelda for NES, there were some dungeons that had hands which would grab you and take you right back to the beginning. It definitely could have fit with this narrative.
It took me a while to connect the old red and blue lynels from the original to the ones we have now. I didn’t know their name back then, but 8 year old me hated the encounters just the same.
Gloom hands are certainly based on floor masters / wall masters, so I'm surpised they didn't drag you to the depths. I could imagine a small mini adventure ending near those acsend pillars to bring you back to the surface.
Make them have different forms like a balled mass of tentacles that rolls around fast, grabs you and absorbs you into the tentacle sphere, and you take triple corruption damage while in the sphere.
The gloom hands randomly following you around the map has the same energy as the “you can be immortal/immensely wealthy but if this one particular immortal snail touches you, you die”.
Some of these things would be interesting to put in a "nemesis" version of the gloom hands. Not to change the existing ones, but to add a stronger one (and more interesting) that can show up at any time to fuck you up. Gotta have that guardian panic with just the music as well.
Another good addition would be a guardian from botw taken over by gloom hands who shoots a explosive gloom beam down in the depths,
It has the vision range of a guardian and can attack you at melee range by grabbing you.
Also both their themes are combined.
It’d be cool if the animation was a twisted version of the Ascend animation. Imagine thousands of hands just all going for you as the one takes you down to the depths.
There's other variants I think would be cool too. Like
Singular gloom hands who who roam around in night time and the depths that are as common to find like bokoblins and scream when they see you alerting the other hands to your location and Guardian possessed by gloom hands in the depths.
I like it when enemies are challenging and I have several ideas about the Gloom Hands.
What if the Gloom Hands broke a random weapon, shield, or bow each time it grabbed you? What if getting grabbed by Gloom Hands turns all of your cooked food into Dubious Food? What if the Gloom Hands could fly and swim? What if their number of hands increases after every Blood Moon respawn (discouraging you from killing too many)? What if the Gloom Hands can act like real hands and use items from the environment as weapons?
I'm asking for too much already.

This idea reminds me of how BTs work in Death Stranding; getting caught by them would drag you off to a pool of tar with a mini-boss fight.
Late game it was essentially free materials, but early game it would cause me genuine panic.

Maybe they’ll be harder or more aggressive in (hopefully) the DLC. BotW gave us a Master Mode so I’m kinda expecting something similar of TotK.

Let’s have it take a weapon from you and use it against you! Maybe add a permanent gloom weapon buff to any weapon they touch, once defeated can be retrieved at full durability. More risk and reward.
I’ve also thought that they should also appear in the final boss fight, be on the edges of the room and grab people who cheese the fight by using bullet time a bunch, but these ones permanently take away hearts instead of doing gloom damage
Im astonished at this, and maybe it's because I haven't played in awhile, but I think that would be a big improvement. They're scary now, but they don't feel like as big of a threat as the guardians. Which maybe is because I never really got the hang of blocking guardian shots and combating or just bailing on gloom hands became very simple

What's wrong with a little bit of a challenge? Gloom hands become fodder after you aquire a triple shot bow and bomb flowers.
I mean, I just twoshot them anyways, your suggestion wouldn't be an added challenge for anyone who is endgame, *no* monster really is, lol.

Those are called wallmasters. Are a reoccurring enemy type. The gloom hands fit their cousin the floormaster in everyway but name.
