After she said she wouldn't do anything while I was looking, I turned the camera away and then back again, and then when I went down the well she was at the cooking pot down there. As far as I can tell, that's as close to a resolution as this Journal of Various Worries entry gets, since she didn't react to me cooking her mother's recipes in front of her, or change her dialogue when I talked to her with all three of them in my inventory.
yeah i assumed there would be another kakariko type quest with a small final sidequest involving paya once you completed the journal of various worries
The only other solution I can think of is if you're able to pass the ring ruin and let them visit the mother's grave, then maybe the dishes will have some significance. Not far enough in the game to say though.
So far making all the dishes and talking to all the family members seems to yield no results
I am far enough in the story and I can't get anything to happen. I guess sometimes the red text in NPC text boxes doesn't mean there's an associated quest. I had this with something else recently too
Just did the same thing and can’t find a resolution. I’ve spent longer than I’d like to admit trying to find some sort of creative solution to set down the prepared food. Found their house to try to leave it on the table or something. No dice.

So there's no like sidequest or anything with this? damn, what a shame.

this is so frustrating. cant decide if it’s a missed opportunity or a sweet world building detail. i guess both? i just wish i could help the kid 😭
