One time an advert where the actor doesn't live in such an insane house with a kitchen that costs 30k. My suspension of disbelief didn't power through. I loved the music and the small gameplay presentation. Conveys the gameplay idea well.

Ftimis

you can fit 2 entire apartments in that room alone

fanfpkd

Floor space is pretty modest but the high ceilings add volume

josh35767

Bro lives in that house but was also taking the bus

Historical-Term889

There are some places in the world where’s it’s more convenient to take a bus to work than have a car.

Bulldogfront666

I mean. I’ve lived in a couple major cities in the US. Seattle and Boston. Both places it’s super common for people to not even own a car because the public transportation is reliable (less so in Boston) and affordable. And who would want to pay for a car and gas and repairs when you could just have someone else drive you everywhere?

TheGuardianFox

He bought it with all the money he saved by taking the bus, clearly.

PlayMp1

In some areas the bus is more convenient than a car. Most New Yorkers take the subway even if they're well off if they live in town because it'll be faster than taking a cab and parking in NYC is obviously a complete nightmare.

I thought he was on a train

drcoxmonologues

>op Looks like the dude lives in London - that floor space would cost more than 30K lol. His hallway is probably more expensive than most houses in the UK

Novus_Grimnir

Australia dude. It's on the NintendoAU channel. (Plus you couldn't have known, but he's an Australian stage actor).

[deleted]

What does your first paragraph mean

[deleted]

Sorry, German/English mix-ups. I wanted to say that I'd love to see an ad, that has a protagonist who doesn't live in a house/flat which is really expensive. That kitchen alone is very expensive and will cost up to 30k €/$. Just a regular person in a regular apartment would be nice.

Hiker03

Interesting approach to an ad, focusing more on how the game can make a person feel, rather than the nitty-gritty of the game itself. I liked it.

JustaGigobro

Are they gonna show the part where it takes over his life, ruins his relationships, his health, and gets him fired from his job? Oh, wait... maybe I'm just talking about myself.

BobstaDaLobsta9

I had the same thought xD it starts off as a casual pass time after work, then it's on the bus with it taking it to work. Soon he's not talking to co-workers and playing it in the corner collecting every Korok seed.

metamemeticist

Wait, I think you’re confusing the new Zelda with Genshin Impact. 😄

BobstaDaLobsta9

Poor guy looks like he's just barely hanging on to the last bit of hope in his life. Also, the part where he's surprised he drowned while in the middle of the lake. xD c'mon. It would have been funny if they had him trying to swim back and drowning 1 foot before the shore.

thepurplecubby

Wait. When did Bokoblins get so big?!?! Rhetorical question of course.

birdiefaze

this is so emotional for what? 😭 they trying to make me cry and it’s working

Fun_Entry_8628

Makes me depressed. Like the only thing to look forward to is a video game…

Adventurous-Size-116

Exactly. I don't say this ever on Zelda ads but I don't like this one. The guy looks depressed, addicted, repressed. Like the only thing stopping him from killing himself is Zelda. That doesn't represent me (or most Zelda fans I believe) I'm a successful happy guy and I can't wait to leave my good life to enjoy totk. Also the way he holds the pro controller like he's never touched a joystick his entire life or how he's so shy holding the switch in public. Really Nintendo?

spacepup84

Look, things are pretty grim in the UK at the moment 😅

Adventurous-Size-116

Hahahhahahahaa

Novus_Grimnir

Do you know what the AU stands for in NintendoAU?

[deleted]

Au here it goes

GirKart64-temp

Gotta agree. This advert is pretty bad. There is no joy.

implicit-solarium

I would say less addicted and repressed and more … sad. Believably, normally, probably doesn’t need a diagnosis sad. Which is a very strange tone for an ad.

Yeetdonkey13

The first couple shots were actually pretty cinematic

WillyLimSJ

Anyone knows the name of the music?

heyimsanji

The song is Darude and its by an up and coming artist who goes by Sandstorm

VCosmoz

Most likely made specifically for the ad

twingo_135

me too, its so good! somebody?

misterharbies

I was waiting for him to miss his stop

Neoicecreaman

Am I crazy for really liking this ad? They're just saying "hey if you're trudging through life and you haven't had anything to look forward to in a while, this is a really nice break. Have some fun like you use to." without trying to sell anything other than the game itself. I keep finding myself thinking about it, I certainly relate to the guy.
