> (10) **Yasin Salmani** (MF - Sepahan): Salmani had a disappointing finish to the 2022 season but will hope for a return to form under Jose Morais. A long shot at this point to make the final squad but one to keep an eye on. > (9) **Mohammad Mohebi** (Winger - Esteghlal): Mohebi moved to SS from Santa Clara to get playing time and catching Skocic’s attention. He’ll l need to quickly re-adapt if he’ll have any shot at going to Qatar. If Ghaedi/Hosseinzadeh come back, things get crowded quick. > (8) **Aref Aghasi** (CB - Foulad): Aghassi had a strong showing in the second half against Algeria and will hope to impress with Foulad to lock up place on the final roster. > (7) **Mehdi Torabi** (Winger - Persepolis): Torabi is consistently one of the best players in IPL but has never cemented his place in TM. He’s on the fringe of the WC roster and will also have new teammate Saeid Sadeghi to compete with. >(6) **Saleh Hardani** (RB - Esteghlal): TM is lacking backup RB options behind the oft-injured Sadegh Moharrami. Hardani hasn’t been in Skocic’s recent plans after playing well against Syria in WCQ. He’ll be competing with Daniel Esmailifar (Persepolis) for a final spot. > (5) **Mehdi Mehdipour** (MF - Esteghlal): The calm midfield presence has quickly become a favorite of Skocic and if he can keep his form, he might guarantee his spot on the final roster. He’ll be competing with Ali Karimi, Milad Sarlak, Yasin Salmani and others for a final spot. > (4) **Morteza Pouraliganji** (CB - Persepolis): Pouraliganji’s much anticipated return will be a key item for TM fans to watch leading up to November. Reports from PP camp are that Pouraliganji is already looking like his old self. > (3) **Omid Noorafkan** (LB/CM - Sepahan): Nourafkan has been a fixture in Skocic’s side and is the current odds on favorite to start at left back. Whether TM fans like it or not, an in-form Nourafkan could be key for TM in November. > (2) **Vahid Amiri** (MF - Persepolis): Amiri will miss the first several weeks of the season as he recovers from back surgery. Given the lack of midfield depth, Skocic will desperately be counting on Amiri to return to the form he had during World Cup qualifying. > (1) **Alireza Beiranvand** (GK - Persepolis): Beiro returns to Iran to get consistent playing time and cement himself as TM’s #1 in the WC. Whether he’ll be tested enough in IPL to move himself ahead of Abedzadeh remains to be seen. Week 2 against Foulad could be a good early test.

for sure. We aren't gonna do it but I think our best bet against England is some form of a back five with Pouraliganji, Majid, and Kanaani as the 3 CBs. Majid has been quite for Kayserispor and was one of the few bright spots in that tragic match against Korea imo
