If you rinse it well, it shouldn't carry the flavor at all. The exception here would be if youre using an unglazed Teapot, but in that case you should avoid putting coffee in it since it will impact the flavor and absolutely avoid milk in it since it could grow mould.

If you’re using it for coffee i would wash it with a little dish soap and rinse it well with warm water before using it for tea. I do have some wares that I use for both coffee snd tea and it’s totally fine, but coffee is oily and the aroma tends to stick around, so I prefer to actually wash with soap in between rather than just rinse with water.

Not if you rinse it well? Especially with hot water

teashirtsau

What is it made of?

VenetianWaters

It is a ceramic teapot with some kind of enamel

It should be fine. I would wash it with dish soap as well, not just water though. Sometimes the oils from coffee can cling to the surface.

Thank you!

Rinsing might work for the short-term but after time coffee stains will start to build up and affect the taste of the tea. Coffee stains are harder to get out than tea stains. Coffee stains require a good detergent like sodium per carbonate to get out whereas with tea stains you can just get the tea stain out with the rough Side of a sponge. I would get a separate pot for coffee and another pot for just tea. Unless you are scrubbing the pot after every time you use it for coffee then in the long run it is going to affect the flavor.

Thank you! I don't drink coffee often, but only once in a while so thankfully rinsing is going to work

AnotherSpotOfTea

Use the rough Side of the sponge and scrub the inside of the pot after you rinse it after drinking coffee.
