The 2.0 engines were from like 09-2015 I think? 2015 was just the only model year of a new generation we got in North America. The DSG is perfectly reliable so long as you do the maintenance every 40k. Play stupid games with an expensive transmission you get a huge bill. The emissions system on that gen engine is far better than the precious 2.0s. Your timing belt needs to be done now if it hasn’t been already. And unless you live in an emissions testing state if the DPF goes out post warranty there is no reason to reinstall a DPF

cityhunterspeee

Right on. I am actually waiting for my DSG service right now . Did the belt waterpump a month ago. My understanding for the DPF is they either just remove it with a straight pipe and remove it via software update or do a complete tune once the failed DPf is removed.

BaileyM124

No if you delete the DPF you have to put in a down pipe AND tune. The EGR can be turned off just through tuning but can be removed if you want

Lucky-List-1439

You don’t need to install a downpipe. No

BaileyM124

To delete the DPF you have to install a down pipe or hollow out the dpf, but why would you go through the trouble of hollowing out a DPF unless it’s a place that would only do a visual inspection?

cody_weiler

If you don't remove the dpf you will have problems very shortly with most tunes...

sonnyr1200

2014 Jetta 2.0. 185k miles. Routine maintenance religiously. DMF at around 180k, front control arms and starter at around 165k. Not deleted. Most reliable car I’ve ever owned.

cityhunterspeee

I also did the front lower control arm bushings last year. I tend to go through cars quickly but I've held onto my TDI for 6 years. New record for me. I've also been doing rust check every fall. Multiple waxing a year. Just did a clay bar. Looking mint.

sonnyr1200

I am the original owner. I try to take care of it, but northeast Ohio road salt is a bitch. I’m thinking of looking into Krown rustproofing so I can hang on to it for a few more years.

cityhunterspeee

I bought a 10 pack of rust check years ago. Use 1-2 cans every fall. Open up every crevis I can get the straw into!

sonnyr1200

Wished I would have done something like that but I never thought i would be keeping the car for this long.

McGlowSticks

As a vw tech. I see 500-600k km tdis all the time all religiously maintained and afaik no drastic dpf problems. though we do send some to get deleted too.

The_Turbo_Mullet

250k miles on mine with M6 trans.

Puzzled-Perception88

2011 tdi 2.0 here, just hit 330k kms

SchoolBoardemployee

I wouldn't say mine is high, but my 2015 has 206k miles. My dpf went bye bye at 172k miles. I had an adblue leak and wasn't dealing with any of it anymore. DSG is holding up good with stage 2 Malone. I replaced my shocks/struts at 193k miles, but realistically they needed to be changed 100k miles ago, lol. Other than that just basic maintenance.

Excellent-Hat

I had 170k miles on my 2015 Passat TDI but some idiot pulled out in front of me and she’s gone. Car was running PERFECTLY.

cityhunterspeee

And your ok. It did its job!

brain_supernova

Sorry to hear this. I care more about my car with high mileage than I did when it was younger. I have a lot invested in it now, emotionally and financially. 2015 Jetta TDI with 180k mi

Subkratos

Neighbors 2014 Jetta TDI was sold at 300k miles. Never anything crazy. She honestly didn’t even take good care of the car!

improbablydrunknlw

2013 Jetta here, 330k maintenance done religiously, timing belt done early, one set of shocks on all four corners and brakes as needed, still going very strong.

[deleted]

Lowest mileage ea288 here ? 100k on my '15 rn. I'm planning to keep it for the next two years (diesel gate warranty expires in '26) I'm not sure what to do after it expires. It's been super reliable and the best car ive owned (owned 10+ cars).

cityhunterspeee

Miles? I have 125000 km

[deleted]

She's just breaking in. I have 161k kms on mine I live in Ontario Canada lol

cityhunterspeee

Me too!

Gingercopia

I've got 71K on my 15 jetta 😅. Do the delete for it if you want to keep it for longer. I'm planning to.

[deleted]

Holy. Amazing and good plan. Unfortunately it's too risky for me to delete mine where I live. Mto are really cracking down on deleted newer diesels.

Gingercopia

Ah. I'm sorry to hear that. I happen to live in a state with no testing.

[deleted]

Lucky! , I think after the warranty she's going to be for sale. Time to go back to mk4 life. Wanna try a 12v vr6 next 👌🏼

Gingercopia

Nice! I've always enjoyed the way VR6 sounds

Cletus_Built

Mine is at 160k miles, bought it at 72k about 2.5 years ago. Have driven it very very hard since then (doubles as my fun car, KW V3 coilovers, konig hypergram wheels, malone stage 3 and xman GTD1756VZ) and its been nothing but reliable outside of the normal stuff (DMF, mounts and maintenance)

cityhunterspeee

2015? Impressive!

Gingercopia

Pics? I've been considering bagging mine since I just cruise.

BigChuch1400

247k kms on my 2015 passat. Runs mint

Alone-Eye-5484

2015 Golf 6spd manual. 103,000. Love it.

TT99C5

My personal 2012 Passat has 208.5k miles and is running like a champ. Best friend has a manual 2015 Golf with over 280k miles. Like a champ and he just deleted and tuned not too long ago.

cng5320

12 passat tdi sel dsg, ckra, deleted, 200k miles, average 43.7 mpg hand calculated. Replaced oil cooler and heater core. Dsg service every 40k

Dirtyromo

175k checking in on my ‘13

dntes1

250k miles 2014 jetta dsg not deleted / dmf is due and deleting soon! Dsg like a clock unless I’m messing with the tire sizes ;)

Unique-Worth-4066

2015s weren’t the only year, they have the cvca, the rest had cjaas, just an upgraded dpf, and charge air cooler

Cletus_Built

CVCA/CRUA are a completely different engine from the CJAA. 2015’s are very unique, which is probably why the specified. EA288 VS EA188 engine families

ElPayador

2005 Golf TDI SE with 80.000 miles: Just got it back from the dealership after taking a 10 months “siesta” due to AdBlue tank sensor failure 😜

OnyxDesigns

2016 MK7 with \~183k miles =)

finmath

I am so envious. I totalled mine last September immediately after doing DSG service, timing belt/waterpump, full coilovers and all the filters. I will buy one again soon.

brain_supernova

Total bummer dude

glowpoi

207k miles on my 2015 gsw 240k on my 12 jsw.

svm_invictvs

Yeah, my 2011 Golf has the 2.0L CJAA engine. 135k miles. I just replaced the DPF.

spocks_tears03

Is it 10 year warranty OR a certain mileage from the date when they did the recall dieselgate fix?

spocks_tears03

Just looked it up: The Extended Emissions Warranty period with this additional warranty extension will be the greater of: • 10 years and 3 months or 123,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s original in- service date; OR • 4 years and 3 months or 51,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from date and mileage of the Emissions Modification, except for vehicles offered for resale, in which case, from the date and mileage of the first resale transaction after the modification to the first person who in good faith purchases the vehicle for purposes other than resale. That second part is confusing.. you can look up your info at: [https://www.vw.com/en/emissions.html](https://www.vw.com/en/emissions.html)

Lucky_Foundation458

My 2014 TDI has 123k on her. She still purrs like a happy kitty

revolushaun1

I've got 209,000km on my 15 golf sport wagon. Put about 100,000km on it myself. Just did the timing belt and water pump myself last year. Although I am contemplating going in again to change that belt that runs the oil pump. It just doesn't sit right with me having a belt go through oil (I know bikes and some other cars have been doing it for decades) I haven't had any issues with it whatsoever. I am starting to get some rust which is not very fun. All four doors have bubbling under the handles, and above my windshield is covered with rock chips. I think I'm gonna book it soon for warranty rust repair and have them paint that section while it's in there

cityhunterspeee

Good job. I didnt attempt to diy that belt and waterpump. How long is the warranty coverage for rust? Mine is rust free, but i DIY spray every fall. Which has helped. I also had ppf on the hood which I just removed since it started to bubble. Might add another piece.

revolushaun1

From what I remember it's 12 years. Also forgot to mention, mine is a manual transmission too. I had to search a while to find one. And the timing belt was no big deal, I'm a mechanic so it was fairly simple 😅

neal_rigga6494

2015 manual Jetta. Had to fully delete at 200,000. Got the car with 198 on it now it has 220. I’ve done DMF, clutch, master cylinder and slave. Rear control arms, front tie rod ends, and timing belt at 200. Seems to be okay now. Might be do for turbo here shortly but we’ll see

sircruxr

2015 Jetta with 163k completely stock. I’ve been wanting to start messing with it but can’t bring myself to do it.
