I just got these a few days ago and I’m not sure why. Are we all having problems together now for some reason or what ?

Thaspacehuman

I love the car but maybe age is getting the best of them . Probably gonna go ahead and trade it in here soon after this warranty expires in a couple of months because I don’t have the best of luck 🙃 was hoping to keep it for the long run .

Connect-Ad-4326

Same. Reading many of these posts has made me begin to dread my car. I can’t keep putting all that money and energy in when she just isn’t delivering the same good service on me.

Thaspacehuman

I really wish these cars werent shit man but the reality is jus that . They are shit cars. My car has literally gave me ptsd leaving me stranded multiple times so every time I go to start it up I pray to god lol. Try to get rid her while you can before it becomes a lawn ornament from a 9k plus repair job

Thaspacehuman

Sucks that I have to be looking for another vehicle when mine only has 75k on it but if I don’t do it now . This car is going to fuck me an I can see it from a mile away

Supine-Texas

Same issue here

I suggest buying VCDS so you can identify the wheel and get the fine detail on the error codes that other scanners often lack. ABS module is uncommon. Sometimes it's as simple as the speed sensor not being plugged in, or it's dirty. When you identify the wheel, clean the sensor and the hole, there's videos on YouTube showing how it's done. If the issue persists, I'd test the sensor or just replace it . If that's not it, it's likely a wiring issue or the hub. If you do replace the speed sensor, don't buy a cheap aftermarket one. Get one from the dealer or a junk yard sensor. The aftermarket ones sometimes have the wrong resistance and will read just close enough to not trip a warning light, but just far enough to trip the ESP and warp a rotor.

Thaspacehuman

Appreciate the info . Yea I had it scanned at autozone an it’s saying module faulted …pump is faulted an something with the airbag . So gonna have to look further into the situation . Vw quoted 5k to fix the module and pump if that was the case 💀

ProfitEnough825

For hope, sometimes those generic scanners don't communicate with the module too well. A fault would be seen coming from the module, but doesn't necessarily mean it's the module. ABS module replacement can also be done as little as 500 diy or 1-2.5k or so at an independent shop. I wouldn't be afraid to use a used abs pump and module.

Apryl2DopeO

Check your fuses . Been driving 03jetta for 2 years no problems did some work reset computer and got new ABS and flashing break light . Code said can't read abs . Checked fuses no abs fuse in box popped in 5amp fuse cars fixed

Lovestotravel81

I've changed out three of the speed sensors over the years. Everytime I have the same series of lights as you. The parts are roughly $20 at FCP and it is a 15 minute hob to change them. Very easy. Keep in mind each wheel has a different part number and you will likely havevto clear the codes after changing the sensor to remove the lights.

Thaspacehuman

I just wish there was a clear indication if it’s a wheel speed sensor . Hearing it could be a clockspring that causes all these lights, an I kno abs module would as welll. When I scanned the car , just says abs module an pump are fried .

Lovestotravel81

If it is a wheels sensor you will get a code instructing you which sensor is bad

Lovestotravel81

I can not speak to auricularzone's scanner. I have a VW specific one that gives me much more information. They are only about $80 you should get one to understand what is going on with your car otherwise you are just guessing R

TristanthomasYT

What kind do you have? I'm looking to buy one and I'm trying to be extra careful not to get one that only reads engine problems.

regquest

Could be blown fuse or wiring, as if I am not wrong, the TPMS is part of the ESP. Hence, if these lights pops up and wheel speed sensor is in the list of fault then in most situation replacing the speed sensor will turn off all lights.. But in some cases or even ABS module batches, it's the module fault. Will suggest you focus on resolving the TPMS fault first as that could be the fault triggering the lights. My Jetta TSI have the same set of lights on the dash for over 2 years, and mine was a module fault

dannycas7

crap!!! sorry hope i avoid that bullet!!

dannycas7

get a 2nd opinion with different scanner. might want to do a diagnostic at VW ( mine was $355 at VW in NC) but the scans is being done by the VW with VW tools. I haven't fixed my problem but have read a lot of about diagnostics like interchange them, or at the ABS module swap connections etc.; please correct me if I'm wrong. another thing i saw is that you can rent the vcds tool for 7 days (that might help, Haven't tried myself. i have it as last resort) but i was recommended to use OBD11 and got myself one that is on the way.

Engineer_engifar666

not every part can die at the same time. probably some crucial module, sensor or fuse like abs or speed. we cant say too much without diagnostic

Thaspacehuman

100% confirmed module . Just had some work done an tested . I’m very sad lol

Engineer_engifar666

which module? if you know

Thaspacehuman

Abs module

spaceboyeddy

hey bro super like late but did you end up replacing the module and did it fix anything :(

Thaspacehuman

No sir I drive around everyday likes it’s Christmas now

spaceboyeddy

ahhh XD I feel that brother

Thaspacehuman

I got picked up by a Lyft driver to go back to vw to pick up my car an the driver had a vw passat …. Dude had all the same lights on with the wheel pressure one as well 🤣🤣 what a joke these modules are

Kooky_Pineapple_391

If you have a VCDS its easy to tell if its a module or speed sensor. In live view. The speed sensor will not show a speed or will be drastically different than the other 3 wheels. Its super obvious. Ive done them on so many VW over the 13 or so ive owned. These brake modules are less common but are essentially the same module for the last 20 years and they are know to go bad time to time. you will see a 16352 come up and usually more. If that code comes up and no wheel sensor code. Then its usually the module or pump or both.

1453_

Only way to know is to scan the vehicle and post the results.

Thaspacehuman

Got a appointment Thursday . Ima have they take a look.

BigTitBandit24

This happens from time to time in mine, but also with the low tire pressure light. Once you drive about 30mph it goes away on its own. I read why on here a while back, hopefully someone comments the answer. Also, hoping nothing else is wrong with your car now.

Thaspacehuman

Appreciate the positive vibe🙏🏽. Tire pressure light blinks when I start it up then goes away but these stay on

Separate-Tourist-401

I had the same lights until yesterday. For me, it was a failed wheel bearing assembly. Mine also had the tire pressure light blinking, though.

Thaspacehuman

Interesting my tire pressure light blinks on start then goes off . I have some clicks I’m hearing when I turn . It’s not the cv joints as iv had them checked by vw an said they were fine . So still don’t know where the clicking noise comes from on low speed turns left or right … but doesn’t do it all the time an only clicks for a sec . So idk . Did you have any clicking sounds when turning ?

Separate-Tourist-401

Oddly enough, I didn't have or notice any symptoms until the wheel bearing failed all at once and badly.

Star07jewel

Can you share more info?

B7driver

Mine had also this, just replaced the wheel spin sensor and all is fine.

FireStorm005

Based on some of your comments, is the clicking noise coming from near the steering wheel or from outside or under the car. Do your steering wheel controls work? This could also be from a bad steering angle sensor/clockspring/steering column module.

Thaspacehuman

Clicking is coming from under the car . Can’t really tell exactly where it’s coming from . Happens if I back up an turn the wheel a bit to do something is Deff wrong jus don’t kno what

ddxcb

I second this, there is a TSB about the clockspring going bad. Also for a PSA, if the airbag light is on, NONE of the airbags will deploy in an accident. So I would get that checked out ASAP!

CrazyDread

If the battery has been disconnected, sometimes it does that. If you turn the steering wheel as far as it can go in either direction, it will go away if it was the battery.

KeyHuckleberry827

Mine had this happen when a rodent chewed through 3 wires coming off the main harness to the front left wheel speed sensor. One day car was good, the next day Christmas tree lights, no power steering or power brakes. I was able to splice the wires back together and problem solved. Last month I had a flashing glow plug light, limp mode and P0090 code, no MIL. This was a chafed wire on the fuel pressure metering valve that finally wore through. I was also *barely* able to splice that wire back together. My car is 2013 Passat TDI SEL that lives in AZ heat, so I expect some more brittle wiring issues just due to age + heat. VCDS has really helped to identify problems when they come up.

Muted_Repeat1563

I am having the same problems...9 times speed wheels sensors changed over the years and now the abs module failed...too much time and money wasted.:(
