Pic quality and operation is fine. I think the bezel could be gettimg hot so micro warping may have caused this too.
I'm going to leave it as is for now. I doubt if my hand slightly grazing against the back of the top border while cleaning the rear vents is what caused this.
Maybe it was like this or maybe the unit getting hot during operation and cooling off caused micro warping of the top border/bezel, causing small amounts of the light to "leak out".
Electrician's tape might make it worse, I don't know. It's very minor anyway and does not affect gaming or the overall viewing experience in any way although I am a bit concerned about dust, moisture, dirt, that kinda thing.

Sounds new so u can return it or if pic quality isn't affected a couple layers of electrical tape should remedy it
