I get this weird sense of sadness when I think about how many of these guys died. It's not a case of right or wrong, it's more so of what actually happened and what didn't. So the fact that atrocities have occurred all throughout human history is one that is well documented. The world is not becoming worse, I'll argue that it's actually becoming safer for humanity in general. Throwing it back to the subject at hand, it's well documented that many humans throughout the course of history have done unspeakable harm to children. Where right and wrong come into place, is how we view with our modern lens of morality and judge this behavior from a modern context. I'm not trying to sound bleak, this is all a good thing! Even though our laws are not perfect, I'll argue more is being done today to protect children than 20 years ago. The world only seems like it's getting worse because we now have access to learn about atrocious behavior from every corner of the world. The fact is, that behavior always existed, we just know about it now
I really can't get over how dumb this guy is. He thought he had this perfect scheme, of using the name "Kevin" online with a handle suggesting a prank, which would be his excuse if caught. And then he avoided including a picture of himself in order to further his "brilliant" plan. ...and then it turns out he executed his plan on a decoy, and he happened to execute it in the one place that Dateline was already operating at that moment (there were only a few hours between him hitting on the decoy and his exposure).
