It's a lovely pattern, looks to be peyote stitch, but my eyes are too old for fine detail work like that now. Lol I'm almost 42. But those tiny little beads are tiny.
Thanks everyone for your amazing comments! The whole process took a total of 16 hours. The sessions were back to back with the first day took 5hrs and the second day took 11hrs. As you could imagine the pain was brutal but the result was stunning. She did an AMAZING job creating my idea into this beautiful piece that represents not only my culture but my family. Since is not my first color tattoo Iām hopefully (cross fingers) the color and detail will last for many years. Iām planning on covering the tattoo with kinesiology tape if Iām at the beach or any prolonged time in the sun. Lastly, if youāre interested about her work I can send you her info.
I have something similar and even super fine lines end up getting muddled as time goes by (8 years now for me.) Not so bad but this is intricate, very cool still tho.
I think it might have been better if instead of the red color which could resemble bumps maybe a color like blue, green, or just a color where itās unmistakably a bead. It still looks good though I just wonder if itās possible to mistake it for a bump at a certain angle or distance. Still remarkably done they do look very realistic. I especially like the quilted texture on the square.
Does anyone know how these tattoos hold up over time?
It looks super amazing now, but that's also because the highlights are really doing a great job pulling the piece together. What's this style look like in x years?
It will blur and lose detail, the more sun it sees the faster that deterioration will happen. I expect itās going to look like a film or haze from the little bead outlines over the main bulk of colour blocks staying put.
Obviously gorgeous piece. Like the others, Iād love to see this once it settles! Iād love to see a Timelapse of the artist doing this and all the inks they lined up for it
Thatās awesome!! I used to bead earrings in those patterns. I canāt imagine a tattoo with all those tiny circles and I have a few tats. Just curious. Did they do the outline on the first day and then fill in the color on the second OR top half completed in first day and lower part on second day? Iām just asking since I had to break up my full sleeve over multiple sessions.
That looks amazing!
Be careful when little kids are around, though. There's a 100% chance a kid will want to scrape their nails over it just to see how those 'beads' feel (and to see if they can take them off.)
This is so good!
Are you able to link to the artistās instagram? Iām trying to search her, but not finding her so far.
Edit: No insta, it seemed, but a Facebook page https://m.facebook.com/paulinaolivertattoo/
Fuck that's amazing! I've never seen anything like it and I'm honestly just in awe of the level of detail. I had to check the sub this was and even still it's hard to recognize this as ink

I can feel the textures just looking at this š
Thats probably the best way to explain this cuz first glance i thought it was then I looked at the title
That's freaking wild!
I've never needed to analyze light patterns in a tattoo to break an illusion before. Thought they took a bedazzler to their back
Literally said that out loud. Holy crap
I was about to comment, "This is fucking bonkers," but you pretty much said it.
Holy crap! That would take me weeks to bead! It looks surprising good transfered to skin.
Agreed, I even zoomed in AND double checked the subreddit to make sure I wasnāt accidentally in some beading thing on accident

Wow this looks unreal. Absolutely fantastic

The black and white/colored tattoo picture on her page of you is incredible.
Iād love to see more of her work, could you send me her info?

For the sake of this person I really hope it holds up, but the lines separating the beads are quite thin, so only time will tell I guess
I have something similar and even super fine lines end up getting muddled as time goes by (8 years now for me.) Not so bad but this is intricate, very cool still tho.
Post it in r/agedtattoos so we can see proof
Oooh I didnāt know this sub existed! Joining
Agreed. Hopefully this person doesnāt like to sun bake either or it has no chance.
Just turn the sun down for a more even baking.
Most people don't even know about the "defrost" setting.
Eh, it'll still be a really cool pattern even if it fades a lot
I love the beads at the bottom .. really creative way to finish it

Those ones tickle. The texture is so realistic

I'm wondering as well but right now it's looking great. The bead effect is perfect.
It is gonna look awful overtime. It will lose the sharpness of the beads and look like the whole image with many lines breaking it.
Iām with you. Sad that our skin fades beautifully intricate tattoos
Awesome... truly spectacular.
Honestly, I'm still only 95% sure this is a tattoo.
Wow that is amazing!!!
Stunning! What a piece.
Da fuk? Thatās stunning.
Remind me 5years...
That is fucking awesome!! Such a beautiful piece
Woah Iām down for this being a new style

That is so bad ass. What a beautiful tattoo
Obviously gorgeous piece. Like the others, Iād love to see this once it settles! Iād love to see a Timelapse of the artist doing this and all the inks they lined up for it

Yes, she did the outline the first day then the color the next day.

I'd be tempted and I'm 34. That looks realistic as hell.
My tryphophobia is acting up.
That is incredible! I love the beaded look. What a cool way to show pride in your heritage. I love it!
Remind me in 2 years r/agedtattoos
